I'd rather have Lightning Returns again. Cloud is the worst FF main character imo. Hell, I'd love to have Squall's outfit from FF8, at least that's not a game that's been tossed in everyone's face as soon as FF is mentioned...

Lol its gonna be like when the Lightning event happened and everyone and their mother dressed like her.

I can see myself mixing up the pieces (if they were separates) with other gear, they look quite versatile.

This is pretty much exactly why people have disdain for the fanbase. Rabidly defensive to the point of coming across as insecure.
On the topic, that doesn't look terribly much like Cloud's outfit.
It's got a single pauldron like Cloud, but everything else is wrong.
Black instead of dark blue. No overalls. Zipper vest instead of a turtleneck. No huge belt buckle. Flat boots instead of rounded. And the long glove is on the wrong side.

so what? costume doesn't have anything to do with if you like cloud as a person, or not.
FF7 is still the most successful FF game, yet, as far as i know. they aren't mutually exclusive, they might add a squall outfit as well at some point; they added ADS mount, cause ppl requested it.

I hope they add some feminine outfits as well...right now as it stands we have 1 female outfit from a previous game (Lightning) and 3 male outfits (Snow, the planned Setzer involving gold saucer, and now Cloud. Yes i'm fully aware cloud's outfit will be able to be worn by female characters.) 4 or more if you include the Onion Knight and Warrior of Light outfits (i don't personally count them because they've been used more than once and fall under "tradition" now rather than "representation".

Not unlike FF6 fans. I think there are several things that 7 did wrong, or at least worse than 6 and 8, but it knew which parts to do 100% right, and even the bad parts are better than in non-final fantasy games. And that is why it is regarded as the best game ever. A title well deserved. For the record, I like Squall more as a protagonist, but his outfit might look out of place here.

Nope, calling any game the best game ever is so wrong.

Knowing ff14 it will eventually be dyeable and that will really boil the blood of our rabid protesters.

Ugh, why do this to us? They could have chosen a better outfit. There are so many to choose from, why choose the worst?

it was most's first final fantasy, so rose coloured glasses and what not,

for me my first ff was ff6,8 and 9 i adore 6 and 8, i played seven from a friend and thought it was atrocious all the mini games stopping the flow of the simple, and basic story :c

back on topic:
to be fair i likee the outfit, the only people who are going to do the whole "I"M CLOUUUDDD" thing is mostly midlanders (who can change there hair and look like him) and miqote (same as midlanders) the other races int he pic (like the fem roe) look really nice in the outfit.

I started FF's back on NES. I've played them all. Saying FFVII is bad is simply untrue. Is FFVII the best one? I don't think so. Tactics will always be MY favorite. But generally speaking, yes, nostalgia goggles play a huge part for most people. Just not me in this case.

I think it looks like a nice outfit too, and will be fun to mix and match with other things. I hope it's dyable. Will be a while before I get my hands on one anyway though.

Funny. For me this was one of the strong points of 7. We had more to do than simply kill. Oppinions differ I guess.

I wouldn't mind Tifa's Advent Children outfit at some point.

I would have preferred it be the same SOLDIER outfit they had in Lightning Returns, but this one's pretty cool too. I would really love to see at least one outfit or event from each of the previous FFs.

So far we have Crystal Tower from FF3, a cross-over event from 11, Lightning event from 13, and now 7. Oh, and the hints about Krile from FF5.

It's so nice seeing all the different stuff from the games I grew up with. Hope to see more in the future.

Can we just talk about how Cloud's outfit looks better on the girl FFXIV characters in that picture than it ever did on Cloud?

Actually, I think it works pretty well and is more unisex than cloud's. Hell, you can probably pull it off pretty close already for certain races.
This pic is her KH outfit but it's the same design.
The only problem I foresee is her shoes...they're clearly sneakers, which *might* be seen as jarring since they're just good ol' regular sneakers.

I would have preferred Squall's outfit, but this is alright I guess, not too interested in it though.

I'm fine with it. FF7 was a fine game, and we're getting outfits from multiple FF games. It was bound to happen.
I hate to go with that attitude of one of the above posters, but its definitely a "deal with it" moment. They're going
to try and please many people and many fans of all the games.
