Lalafell actually have the best emotes. I don't have an opinion about the animations though.

I play as one because I don't like my character to be huge and muscle-y like the Roe women are, don't get me wrong, they're gorgeous too, just not my style. The Elezen aren't bad either, at the time though I hadn't seen any that looked really gorgeous, the neck set me off for them, that's changed more recently though, I don't know if people are just better at accentuating the Elezen figure, or if the neck got a little touch up at some point or what, but yeah. Lalafell, while I agree with Parodine, they DO have the best emotes imo (that /happy is just too damn adorable), I like my characters to look sexy (note: not slutty), so that didn't really fit either, I was a midlander at first but didn't like her running and sprinting animations, so Femqo'te was the next step for me. I DO plan to go Au Ra though simply because I LOVE dragons/dragonkin in every rpg that has that option, i've always been it.

Every game I have played that you could choose male or female, always was male, because i am one. So when I had to make a character for this game figured why not change it up. But then what female to play, really had no preference. Fate decided it for me. Just then while trying to make my choice, we have 2 cats one male one female, well needless to say I guess one can see which one just walked into the room.

I recently switched from miqote to highlander yesterday. Too many boy kitties and not enough Highlanders. Still getting used to my highlander though (the height) but I've received compliments already, so $10 well spent

I play as a Hyur male but I know what you're getting at. I don't get people who say they don't want to play a guy because they don't want to look at male butt. The gameplay doesn't involve you looking at your characters rear end, you should be paying attention to what you're doing.

Why would people stare at butts anyways? It doesn't do anything, it's just a body part. There's a giant behemoth swinging at you, pay attention to that.

Well, if you want to play a fairly "normal/human" looking character it is pretty much Hyur or Miqo'te. And a lot of people prefer Miqo'te animations (esp. the run). On my server at least, Miqo'te males are way less common than the females though, and while not rare you aren't tripping over them every corner either.

I am puzzled as to why Highlander ladies don't balance out the female population more, though. Sure, they're 5'8"+, but if you aren't a dunce with the character creator you can make a total bombshell, even a sweet pretty one if you like. Is being a little on the tall side even more of a deterrent than the oft-mocked Midlander female run? :confused:

I forsee a lot of lalas and mi'qote turning into au ra. ( cuz they technically make 50%+ of a server races. ) so au ra will be new master race. And i'm for sure joining the au ra. Can still punt lalas in 3.0 yipee.

I think it's because it fits most jobs.

I initially wanted to go Elezen. Then I found out 1.94m was the "shortest" length to chose from. Long characters with knock knees just don't look cool.

The Au Ra will rule in 3.0!

Some people just like their cuteness factor.

Lalafell have the best of everything. It's a hands-down fact.

It's not possible to fail, even at failing to fail without being perfect at it over every other race.

If you aren't a lalafell, you can't discuss this either. There are only two races anyway. I don't see why people even discuss like this. It's Lalafell or the savage cavemen race.

Femroe have a pretty dominant Esprit. And every time I play FF6, I imagine Celes with a Femroe-like appearance. Badass without sacrificing their femininity.

I like cute things, and small things, but not TOO small.
I also like cats
Roe women are too big and their noses bother me.
Elezen women have tiny heads compared to the rest of their body (even though they're the same size as everyone else's)
Hyur are too generic.
Lalafell are too...childish.
But it even works from a stat perspective: Seekers of the Sun have the second highest DEX, and I play BRD and NIN the most. They also have STR, DEX, and VIT all over 20, something only Highlanders also have.
Plus 99% of all outfits look better on female characters anyway.

I play a Miqo'te cause in XI I played a Hume and Elvaan, so I picked a Miqo'te when I started 1.0 and now in ARR.

I would like to play as an elezen (even fantasia'd a few times) but their proportions + animations were a big turn off for me. If female elezen were modified to be like those au'ra (no scales or tale) I would most definitely drop $10 in a heartbeat. Then again this is all probably because i prefer dnd elves.

My character has the best mnd-pie ratio for healer which is why I chose it. If the Au Ra clans have better stats for healer I'll gladly change, but until then I'll stick with what I have (although I agree it is very off-putting seeing 1000 people of the same race around you constantly).

Wish we could have the odd beasttribe race as a playable race... even something like inside and instance or part of a raid...

Not sure how accurate xivsoul is but the Hyur have lead as well as male characters. On the OP's server it is Miqo'te but more male characters.

As a guy IRL I play a play a f miqote because they are the most appealing race and look nice and cute.

I wouldn't like playing a guy character and then getting and get like subligar and collecting swimsuit outfits because to me it wouldn't be that pleasing to look at all.

In 1.0 beta, I tried out a Miqo'te and Roegadyn (only male was available at the time) and I spent more time on the Roegadyn than on the Miqo'te... Well, when I didn't have issues updating the beta client. When 2.0 beta rolled around, I made a male Miqo'te because they were not available as a playable option in 1.0. I also have a female Roegadyn (which were also not available in 1.0) on another server. I don't really care for the female Miqo'te, mostly because I know that there would be a lot of them around. My character on Behemoth is currently a Hyur and I've bought a Fantasia to change her race once 3.0 launches. Depending on how the Au Ra look, I'll either remake her as one of the Au Ra or a Miqo'te.

As a girl in real life, I was appalled that Squeenix almost didn't put catboys into the game, so obviously that is what I was going to play as.

Also, Miqo'te Master Race, of course. Who cares about those little footballs.

Female Elezen here at max height. I think my character is gorgeous. Love those long legs.

My main is a female miqo'te changing to a Au'Ra come 3.0 so can't wait cause I agree this game has to many cats.
