Whm solo healing in T12, sch adlo?

Hey, so my group has been stuck on T12 for a few weeks now. We're getting fairly close (30% on best attempt and getting better), but one of the things holding me up is that my group seems to be taking a lot more damage than it seems like they should. To clarify, i'm not talking about the occasional overlapping scorched pinion, or anything like that. But when I watch clear video's, or read solo healing advice, none of it seems to work in practice. So, just a few questions for our scholars out there.

First, when do you drop cleric stance to adlo? Do you mitigate every revelation? Shield for bennus? Brand?

Our paladin seems to take crazy amounts of damage, not only from phoenix, but from the bennus as well. Our warrior on the other hand seems to have his cooldowns in a very good place. That being said, when do you scholars generally plan on dropping CS to mitigate tank damage?

For brand, my group has been trying to pass between myself and our bard (to avoid dps loss from the bluefire debuff, our sch has been doing it). But stoneskin + cure II just isn't usually enough to keep her up after Flames of Unf. goes off after she passes me the brand. Our sch usually has to throw out a lustrate as they handle bluefire/redfire. This doesnt' seem as efficient in practice as it should be. When things have gone absolutely flawlessly, we've managed to push 4 bennus, but this is not the norm.

Also, if anyone has any whm tips i'm certainly open to suggestion. I honestly don't know what else i can do at this point. I keep divine seal on cooldown to coincide w/ bennu spawns, regen on both tanks, regen on brand targets, stoneskin on current brand target. i only need ballad when i've had to raise (generally). I usually save PoM for instances when i get the bluefire mark and have to move, but not always.

I mean, is it weird that the least stressful part of the fight for me is the bennu phase, even with five bennus?

It would be helpful if you can pinpoint where exactly you're having problems.
You said you reached 30% and will be clearing soon, but then continued to elaborate problems you seem to be having in Phase 1 and 2.
Anyway I'll try to assist as much as I can by detailing what me (WHM) and the scholar does in t12.

1) Scholar dps when there's no Bennus, when Bennu spawn, he's in charge of healing the OT until Bennu dies.
2) Stoneskin and Adlo both on unforgiveness victims.
3) I usually handle Revelations alone with just a Stoneskin, no adlo.

Advice : If possible, perhaps don't use bards for brand passing (maybe their mdef is low, based on what you say)? In my group, healers handle brands, and for me, if the victim has both adlo and stoneskin, a Cure 1 is enough to survive the brand + unforgiveness damage, if only stoneskin, use Cure 2 instead.

P1 I Start in cleric, bane bennu then drop and prep for revelation.
rinse and repeat

P2 I handle Brand mechanic, I aldo WHM as it last 30 secs and then I shift to cleric , dps till bennu spawns, drop cleric do brand mechanic , then aldo myself and cleric

I've seen a SCH solo heal this , yeah with 5 DPS , so here a SCH should never be in cleric except for the last bennu. MP management and buffs and occasional aldos are needed....If you're a confident SCH and your WHM is above decent you can bane really fast (bio, swiftcast+bioII) then leave cleric and go back to healing

p4 DPS should only come down to when during casting flames of rebirth and Phoenix summoning fountains.

If your raid is that dependent on SCH dps ,for P4 need to check other dps


......Bennu phase for healers is the least stressful part as you're just aoe healing and mitigating you dont have to watch for mechanics and your not a tank you dont have to remember postions/cool downs and your not a dps so you dont have to worry about the check

Its normal to have low health after the brand especially if there is no aldo on top of that. I literally wont stop aldo till I crit or get a aldo between 1400-1600 as that is more than enough to keep you alive and patch up after wards

For us, I am in dps mode in all phase 1. I do 0 healing in that phase, Fairy and WHM are doing it.
But then from phase 2 i stay in healer and I put dots just after the 2 range dps passed the rot
Phase 3 I do 0 DPS apart for the last bennu
Phase 4 I do not do much dps either, just whenever I feel is safe I will pout dots

As whm I generally insist on solo healing the phase 1 with the SCH being on full DPS duty, the odd lustrate is appreciated but for the most part, as long as you can time the add pop and revelation comfortable, it's pretty straightforward.

For phase 2, as mentioned elsewhere, the SCH is on OT duty, and helps out if things get a little sketchy elsewhere, we pass the debuff between the two healers to make it easier to fit cures in between the two hits.

Add phase is a straight forward HPS fest. Once you can push the boss with 3 bennus it becomes ultra trivial (and easily solo healed).

For final phase, we split the healing, lately it's been myself primarily on fountain/group duty with the SCH handling the tanks. Stoneskin+regen on the final two fountain targets helps immensely. All that's left is to ensure you do your best to point your tethers out of the arena or at least well clear of the fountain.

P1 WHM solo heal. Bennu 2 tips: DS >PoM> Stone >Cure2 </t> mt,> Cure 2 </t> Ot, blackfire ...
P2 WHM 3/4 heal. Adlo befor flames of unforgiveness (Cure2 on switch) and support on Ot when bennu pop close to the revelation.
Our SCH make sure to have his Dot on the boss in order to spread it on Bennu when it pop.
p3 0 DPS.
p4 depend on your party. Just as Hysterior , DPS when you feel safe.

I'm not a healer in T12 so I can't really give good advice on the specifics, but general tips I do know:

- SCH Viruses Revelations, WHM + caster Virus every Bennu P1/P2.
- SCH does Bluefires, WHM + caster do Flames of Unforgiveness. If you'd rather be more available for Flames, have WHM do Bluefires and you pass to and from your caster. The only person who's better suited to do Bluefires is SMN and hopefully you're not using one if you're still struggling with 5 Bennu.
- If your group is willing to deal with slightly more complex Redfires, keep the boss in the center and Bane unto every Bennu (they spawn at roughly :05, 1:05, 2:05, etc from pull). It's a moderate raid DPS gain as well as a SCH DPS gain, as it minimizes travel time by all parties involved, the downside being Revelations come out during Redfires and the Bluefire person can get cleaved if they're not smart about how they approach the Redfire.
- How much healing you have to do on OT is dependent on your group's DPS, just an Adlo after it initially hits your OT is enough with Virus if you burn it, otherwise you might need a Lustrate or more Adlos.

Tips for distinctly pushing 4 Bennu, what we used week 2 and use now to push 3 Bennu:

- USE SELENE UNTIL BENNU PHASE. I don't care if you're progressing or not, P1/P2 Eos is completely sub-optimal - Selene will singlehandedly bump you up a couple %.
- Re-Foe when your BRD's MP is about 3/5 full, around the time of a Redfire. Waiting longer than this means you lose Foe's up time.
- Keep boss in center if you can, get a Bane on every Bennu
- Let SCH kill Blackfires, they can solo them with one Bane. Blackfires last a very long time before enraging, don't get nervous and start attacking.
- Keep melee completely on the boss unless they're taking a Bluefire out, never have them switch to a Bennu
- If very comfortable healing (I don't think your group would be at this level yet but maybe one day soon), use Sword Oath PLD as MT while still keeping up large amounts of SCH DPS. If you can pull this off you can do all sorts of wonderful pushes and tricks including avoiding tank swapping by skipping Revelations.

P1 usually sch stay in CS during all the phase, removing it only for aldo the 2 tank before Revelation/Bennu and then go back immediately on dps'ing, Banning everything (Bennu + black fire).

P2 is pretty the same, refresh dot while you enter P2, aldo the Brand, aldo the 2 tank again and go CS to refresh dot + Banne. After the Revelation / Red Flamme / Bennu you always have 5-10 s to refresh you dot (during the Blue fire mark nothing important is happening) and then taking care of the Brand switch. Typically you save some Lustrate for the tank while in CS.

P3 you can put your dot on the first add to kill and then Banne (we already have a SMN doing it + LB mage so I'm asked not to Banne too otherwise all the Bennus will die in the same time). Rotate Virus on the Big bennus, go into CS for each Big bennus to kill them fast and switch back to healing.

P4 usually you can put your dot as soon as the phase begin since nothing is happening for 10-20s except the Brand to give on tank, then Revelation is 10s after the fountain. Aldo the tank for Revelation and aldo the dps/healer who's in the fountain and have the bird. After that, go dps and repeat

You should follow the tips of Sleigh about positioning the boss and the Banne thing, this is increasing dps of team a lot!

@ dreamweaver: sorry, i know it's fairly unclear, but the reason I was going into phase 1 and 2 issues is because a) that's still where a lot of wipes are happening. for some reason we seem to only get a few solid tries at the last phase in during a raid night. and b) we're still having 5 bennus with all our dps at very high ilvs with ilv125 weapons or higher (and sch w/ ilv130 book). Our dps comp is nin/mnk/blm/brd :/ I feel like we really only need a little bit more practice w/ the last phase. ie. having ppl not walk into the fountain until that last 3 seconds of their cloak of death falls off, overlapping pinions, bad brand passes, things like that.

Some of these things we're already doing. I virus bennu 1,3,5, and our blm virus 2,4 while our sch is assigned to virus revalations. We keep phoenix in the middle, our ranged dps deal w/ bennus while melee stay on boss. But a lot of this stuff we haven't been doing, the bane usage that just about everyone has suggested in particular. Woops! xD So thanks a ton to everyone for sharing their tips and experience!! And thanks a lot to Sleigh for the tips on pushing 4 bennus. These things make so much sense as i read them. I will communicate these ideas to my team asap. I'm sure they'll go a long way.

Do you have a video somewhere? There are some vague points here and there to give you any solid advice.

My group applied these tips for raid tonight with great results. We only got 4 bennus every time, and made it to last phase (20% on best try) on all but 1 attempt.

Once we get a little better at aiming our pinions we'll have this down.
