No longer able to connect

For some reason I am unable to play anymore Nothing has changed on my system or with my internet everything is the same as it always was but every time I try and run the game I get "11023 Unable to access server for version check.
(3:20455,19900,12152)"

I have uninstalled and re-installed 3 times now I have tried using a different account and nothing seems to work! this has been happening for last 2 days now.

documents / my games / final fantasy ffxiv / delete everything except the "user" folder. Run the FFXIVConfig program. Try again.

There has been an update a few days ago. Change the content of game.ver to 2011.08.16.0000

but if the games not connecting after a re-install doing this will not allow me to play as the games not patched?

The patch probably did get applied but some files sometimes fail to get updated. The only way to avoid this is to manually remove the write protection from all files in the ffxiv folder before every update.
But first you should try to disable UPnP in the ffxiv config.

Sorry I don't think you read it right I have re-installed 3 times now and this is what I get so there is no patch applied and I can't get it to patch even if I manually download them

yep even re-added the ports to the router and the firewall lol

Also just to check the only thing that dose update is the updater it updates to version 2010.09.18.0000 is that the right version.
My current game version is 2010.07.10.0000 (due to it being a fresh install again :) )

game.ver should be 2011.08.16.0000, boot.ver 2010.09.18.0000 and patch.ver 1.18b after it's done patching.

Did you also delete the ffxiv folder in your username/my documents/my games folder before reinstalling the game?

yep but i need it to patch first witch it wont all it will do is patch the update then when you load it up to patch the main game thats when I get the error, as I have said this is yet another fresh install so no patches applyed as it will not connect to patch!

Edit: Yep deleted the FFXIV folder from documents :)

Ok now really confused as I have got it working on the laptop thats on the same network etc (but very under spec for the game) its got the same firewall software etc yet it will not work on my PC. The only thing that has changed sice i last played was I got 2 new games ant thats all

K been looking around and googleing this error seems to pop up a lot and there's not a single fix that works every time so looks like I can't play any more :( Oh well I'll just have to wait for the PS3 verson I have had more problems with the game then I care to mention yet not a single other game I own fails on me each patch!

I was having the same problem. Creating a new administrator user account in Windows worked for me.

Yep as mentioned I done this already that's why im puzzled as all the normal things to do have failed to fix the problem, the only thing that has changed on my system since I last played as I got The witcher via steam and Age of empires online via Games For Windows marketplace oh and a nvidia driver update but other than that I haven't done anything else

It happened to me another time, before this last one, and I had to do a full wipe and reinstall Windows to get it to update correctly, unfortunately. :(

Outch :(

Well good news I have fixed the problem after pissing around with tons of settings and changing equipment I decided to check my Eset logs to see if there was a program trying to piggy back on the updater and found that the remote server was causing a TCP overload, even when the firewall is disabled the prog picks up overloads and snooping, so I turned of the TCP overload detection and presto patching fine but slow so back to normal then lmao :)
