QOL/ Convenience Suggestions

Just a breif list of some things that may help out the fresh lvl 50/casual/solo playerbase.

1. Poetics Exchange
Most Solo & casual players may never run/be on enough to effectively farm Poetics.
Why not give us an option to trade/exchange in Poetics Tomes for Solidarity Tomes?
This would dramatically help folks get up in ilvl faster.

2. Vanity Vendors
Currently a handful of vendors that sell vanity gear are gated by quests.
Tataroga for example.
Why do you need a lvl 50 crafter to buy a non-Master Crafter item?
The 3 Star+ Recipe books make sense. A non-lvl 50 would not need them.

But her Glamour shards, Glamour Dispeller, Dark Matter, and the Emperor's New set of items?
Do those need to be gated? Honestly. The Emperor gear is basically invisible glamour right?
Does that NEED to be locked behind a lvl 50 Crafting class?
You can buy the blank crystals, and etc in every City-State. So why lock it in Mor'Dona?

A lot of vanity quests are also gated behind lvl 50.
Why is this?
EX: Lvl 50 is required to unlock Glamours. Why?
I see no reason to prevent folks from having a "look" for their characters as they lvl up.

3. Daily Allied Seals
Glad the daily quest got a boost. However why not round the daily mobs to 10 seals Each, 50 for FATE bosses?
Some bosses are on 3hr+ timers SE. 50 seals to make the wait worthwhile or simply have the FATEs spawn every hour.
The daily quests should be fun, not feel like a punishment for not wanting to Zerg the A & S Ranks.

I'll try to explain (And probably fail):
The recent patched increased the Seal rewards for the weekly & Daily hunts. A step in the right direction.
It still takes 4+hrs for Voxia of the Blade to spawn.
If you zerg Hunts you could have 300 seals in that time.
So the Daily quest is not worthwhile if you look at it from that perspective. Just like the Atma grinds for relics...it feels more like punishment than working towards a goal.

4. NPC Crafters to Commission
Can we have NPCs we can commission to craft High Level Armor & Accessories?
I realize players take priority but the charge people give for crafting items with 100% your mats is ridiculous.
500,000 to craft an ilvl95 weapon (all my mats).
(That was the lowest offer. Most folks charged me 1.5mil min and I lter discovered those are "undercutters".)

Might as well sell 3-5 Star Armor/Accessories/Weapons on the Cash Shop at those prices.
I thought the Crafted gear was suppose to be an alternative set for more casual players.
Hardly any Casuals can throw millions of gil around for a single piece of armor/Weapon.

I'd rather hire an NPC and know I'll get my item vs risking someone running off with the mats (Happened to my Mogking Whisker [That hurt me], and Demi-Materia [Meh...]) and/or failing the synth.

5. Materia Melding
Do we really need this? Why not let players slot Materia like in FFVII?
For armor with no slots melding makes sense.
Removing Materia should destroy it. (To preserve the economy.)
Melding feels unnecessary & restrictive.
Look at the majority of folks who have no Materia in their gear. (Take a census.)
Not only is the Armor/Weapon expensive, but the Materia is equally expensive, & to top it off 95% of crafters charge equal or double the price of the Materia to meld it.
Example:
I wanted to slot Vit IV Materia on a Wootz Cuirass, the Materia sells for 400k (I had my own however), then to meld it I get told it'll run me 500k.
Why on earth should a meld cost half a mil? I've done melds myself. It's a button press. I'm not asking the crafter to create a new form of life.
End result: No meld was done. I'll just go around unmelded like the other 95% of the population.

Materia is in some ways (debatably) gated content due to the Melding process. They made a big fuss over it in the storyline. But I hardly see folks using it.

Sorry if I come off as "whining" and/or Aggressive but some of these topics have just irked me.
I enjoy the game & would like to make some things more accessible as well as remove barriers that just feel pointless.

What's wrong with some content being restricted to those who go the extra mile? It makes it that more satisfying to actually work towards this content.

Crafting takes a large amount of effort to reach high level. Diminishing the value of a high-level crafter (by allowing everyone to meld, have NPCs do high-level crafts, etc) would reduce the number of people who would bother leveling it in the first place.

If you don't like paying through the nose to other people for crafting related needs, then you have every opportunity to level crafting.

Number 1 is silly. I don't have much time to run a lot of dungeons, but I've always been able to cap out on my weekly poetic cap. Who are you speaking for here OP?

I'm confused by... well, a lot of this.

To cap Poetics, all it takes is one expert dungeon roulette per day (which takes about an hour or so). I certainly wouldn't call myself a hardcore player but I cap every week just fine.

As for the glamor prisms gated behind being a crafter... you know that those are only of use to level 50 crafters, right? The ones Tataroga sells are blank. They have to be made into specific types by crafters. I will agree with it being silly that the Emperor's stuff isn't available for every one, though.

And NPC crafters to commission? That would demolish the economy of the game. What would be the point of players crafting then? Perhaps I'm biased because I'm a crafter myself but the idea of that is just awful. I'm not entirely sure what would be accomplished here.

This is aimed at everyone. I am asking for the "OPTION" to trade/exchange Poetics for Solidarity.
This can help folks get a full Sol set quicker. I see no harm in this.

I know the Glamour crystals are blank, we have vendors in the Main Cities that sell them.
However she also sells vanity gear. I think she sells the "Emperor's New" items.
Those items harm no one, like the Best Man's & Bridesmaid sets. So why gate them?

NPC Crafter Commissions:
I am all for keeping crafters relevant. Every patch adds new items for them to make.
I applaud folks for leveling crafters.
(I am leveling mine too. So I know when a crafter is ripping people off.)
That said, I mainly play late night/early mornings.
Finding a crafter who doesn't charge by the millions (Your mats or not) is few & far between in those hours. However that's life & my work schedule.
(By some folks logic I should just give up then & not progress as I am not willing to spend millions for what doesn't cost millions.)
With the prices people charge it's equal to having an NPC craft the item.
The NPC won't steal your mats though. (Happened to me twice.)
The NPC wouldn't also charge you the price of the item you have mats to make to craft it either. (I might as well buy the item than have the crafter make it. Which defeats the purpose.)

NPCs would bare minimum keep folks in line if you ask me. I know most players would rather get Gil than see NPCs pocket it.

4. No. Just... no. A crafting NPC would make PC crafters obsolete in no time flat. The reason people charge so much for the service of assembling your materials is that leveling and equipping a crafter is a huge undertaking. It requires a lot of time and a lot of gil. Without someone to put them together, your materials are just random junk. With that said, if a crafter steals your materials after they've agreed to craft something for you, report them.

5. I've never even heard of a crafter to charge equal or double the price of a materia to meld it. In the case of Savage Might IV, that would mean that the crafters were charging 400-800k for a single meld. Many people will meld for free, but when you're faced with someone that charges you have to ask yourself "can I do this myself?" If the answer is no, you may just have to pay someone else to do it for you. The alternative is leveling up your own crafters so that you can meld to your heart's content 100% for free.

6. We already basically have apartments, they're just gated behind FC housing. *shrugs*

You don't even have to run expert roulette everyday to cap. can do it in 4 with maybe one solo dung after depending if you coil

And 500k for a materia meld? where are you the golden saucer?

The idea for an npc crafter isn't too bad if done correctly. It would help rein in the absurd amounts crafters charge for stuff. Similar to what SE did when they added the stable brooms to an npc vendor because crafters were charging way too much for them. The npc is still really expensive for just one at 20k but at least now crafters aren't trying to sell them for 500k.

So it would have to be the same with an npc crafter. You supply all your own mats and shards and the npc price would have to be low enough to be affordable but high enough to allow crafters to still profit. Like 1 mil for a 1 star, 2 mil for a 2 star etc.

Meh I'm not gonna put too much thought into since I know it will never happen but it could work. It would help regulate the market somewhat so prices don't get out of control.

Technically your ilvl padding will go faster with a mix of both - along with running dungeons, ct/st and eventually wod. That can gear up a player very fast.

I agree on this. If something is pure vanity that anyone can use then yes shouldn't be locked. As for glamour being locked behind a lvl50 quest. Well the way I see it it's a reward for reaching 50.

Hmmm. I would say at this point in the game that could work for crafts up to one star. But it would require bring your own mats. This would make it possible for people to get their relics made as well. I'd also suggest offering melding(and maybe overmelding services as well). I think though that for this you would need to visit the relevant guild to be able to use such a facility. And of course this would be NQ only with a % failure.

Report to GM especially if it was agreed in chat about it. As for failing a synth. Where does it say an NPC wouldn't be able to? The way I see it the NPC is a master of his own craft only but that doesn't give him all the skills from the other crafts - thus failure is always an option.

Most crafters I know will do it for free or for a small tip(like 1k or 5k or 10k), I often respond to shouts for melds and do them for free.

You are not and you are entitled to your own opinion on things just as all of us.

I find it really annoying on the ADS mount (and probably others) that your cross bar gets completely changed when mounted.
If you like having a custom mount/dismount button on your controller, pressing R1 to switch back sets, then the allocated button to dismount is cumbersome for the amount of times you need to use a mount in this game.

Whats the point in having the (very rarely) used vanity skill in the pet bar AND completely changing your cross bar just for a little used skill. This removes the potential of customising your crossbar for mount/unmount buttons.
Note you cannot add to/edit the pet bar

It's soldiery, not solidarity.

I like that the game almost expects you to rely on others for other things besides just killing big bosses. It's an MMO. Ask your FC mates and see if any of them would be willing to give you a discount for crafting (and hopefully you have some FC members that can even craft it).

If you're paying a crafter an absurd price for something, it's one of two situations;
You're not looking around for a better price.
Or
The service that you're requesting is rare, and the supply for it is low enough that the person can charge that amount and still be in business.

If you forcefully lower the demand of these high-level crafting services by relocating some of the crafts to something you can just have an NPC do, you're going to see less people trying to get to high-level crafting. Because, why bother? The effort wouldn't be worth the rewards in the end.

The change was really only needed for stuff like the cannons in Stone Vigil [H] and Castrum Meri since you couldn't really do anything else while using one anyways. I guess they shortcut it since those buttons appear on the pet hotbar. They like to add things then not give a toggle for them.

Regarding number 1, I don't think it's necessary. If you're getting enough Poetics that you're thinking about exchanging it, then chances are you already have tons of Soldiery tomes. The drop rate is way higher especially for new 50s who are trying to gear up and are clearing things for the first time. Bonuses abound. I don't think yet another source of Soldiery is needed. And those folks will eventually need the Poetics.

Since pressing(atleast by default) the left stick in will dismount you it's a non issue to dismount. I wouldn't mind though if all mount actions were available to be bound as we wanted and have that disabled.
