The only "fix" hunts need (IMO)

Increase the spawning window time.

More allied seals, less allied seals, couldn't care less.

Increase the range at which monsters spawn, remove the grind from them and increase the hunting/searching/RNGingn aspect of hunts.

I say, from 2 to 6 hours after death, there's a random chance the A rank might spawn.

S Ranks are ok, I guess.

What will this do? Players won't spend 2 hours in a row killing all the open windows and then waiting 1 hour for them to spawn again, rinse repeat. Instead, players who search frequently/randomly will be rewarded (and leeches won't be so rewarded because they're not expecting hunts every minute of the day and get caught off surprise/stuck in a duty). Those who expect hunts to be a farm, will be left disappointed and curse RNGesus.

I agree. Wish it would be fully 100% randomized. So it would be a more "oh, damn, ran into one." type of thing. I don't mind actually having a spawn time in the range of 10 minutes to something like even 48 hours for an A rank.

Nowdays, if you're not a part of those "Our rules, we own all the Hunt Mobs, they are our property and our rewards" linkshells run by facists, the only way to get the rewards if you find them yourself and party up with some of your FC buddies and pull ASAP. Especially if you're by yourself or with only a couple people. The big "We own the Hunts" linkshells show up and act like they own the place, and it's not like they wait for people outside of the linkshell. So why should we get bitched at when we find another one in another zone and start.

You know what we call early pulls on Cerberus? <Panda>-Pulls. Guess why. The linkshell problem you describe is an actual thing. Its really annoying.

IMO less available marks will only make more drama.

Give us scaling hp on hunt marks PLEASE.

Or at least increase their overall hp pool in a hotfix, I'd rather not wait until 2.51 to enjoy hunting once more.

I could care less about the drama. What I care about is people thinking they deserve things they don't work for and then complain about it. What I care about is hunts overwhelming other content to the point of increasing duty finder times by a huge margin. Making hunts more rare would make people hunt less, because they simply couldn't farm them. Without the farming aspect, most players will just find another type of content they can grind off.

This all brings me to my next point: HP Scaling is NOT good unless it's coupled with increased spawn times/spawn windows, then yes, HP scaling is a good option. But with the current spawning times, HP scaling would do this:

More HP > more time taken to kill > less time inbetween hunts > hunts would become more of a grind and even less of a hunt, just jumping from one zone to another > more hardcores would join the hunt because it's a gear grinding content > More HP.

I stick by my opinion that increasing spawn times and windows is the only viable option for this and it really doesn't matter if they give more or less seals, the community will just have to start realizing that not everybody in the world is out to help them get better gear and wait for them in every hunt that spawns. In a perfect world, A ranks would be killed by parties of 8 and S ranks by alliances of 24. But then again, in a perfect world hunts should only give fluff/flavour items such as glamours (Allied Seals Gear), minions and etc.. Not progression gear, the Maelstrom should sell gear for their soldiers to show off their pride in it, not ironworks augmentations :P

And yeah, I stopped hunting completely since 2.5, and hunting was one of my favourite things in the game, even if people kept telling me: "Why do you hunts? They don't give you anything.", I just did them for the fun and the GC gear. Now I won't even get my gear because hunts are such boring zergs.

We're on the same page. I just feel they should increase the spawn window drastically. Like really drastically so theres not much point in running around following the timer like mindless zombies. The only time I'll actually do any hunts is if i'm coincidentally in the zone they spawn in (even then the link shell won't shout the position so usually can't get full rewards), just gotta hopefully follow the zerg / or if I happen to find one myself. It just annoys the hell outta me when I do find one myself while gathering, and just pop a duty finder and go when I get 8 people, that the link shell facists shows up, makes up their own ET attack time, and the first-finder gets complained at / namecalled / name posted on Japanese site for "early" pulling. Litterally 2~3 times a day thered be these huge shout fights going on (that I see - there's probably more) and while it was funny watching these 4 year old mentality people yell at each other for awhile, its really annoying now lol.

Really is a shame because I actually enjoyed these when they first came out as well. Wish they would take the upgrade to ilvl 130 stuff out of the rewards. (don't know what it's called in English).

Upgrading the window time isn't a good idea. Because even if the window get larger, people will still farm them.

One solution would be to limit the amount of time people are willing to invest in hunting. How? Two different ideas.
- Weekly limitation on allied seal. For example you can only get 1500 allied seals by weeks
- Disminishing returns. One you get a specified amount of seals, the next hunts will reward you with less seals. For a rank A, for example, you strat getting 40 (max). After 1000 seals obtaines, you start getting 24 (max). After another 1000, you only get 10 (max). This way, hardcore player can keep hunting for as long as they please, and more casual will only get what seems the most efficitent to them.

Both of these solutions also have an added benefit: you will also need more time to get your carbon, and ilvl130 item. This way, these reward you also get from FCob doesn't seem blatantly useless anymore, and give significance to static or PU group for these raids.

They should scale HP based on how many people are in the hunt marks area. So every time someone tele's in, the mark regains/recovers gets a decent increase in HP.

I'm an avid hunter, loved the idea since patch notes, was a long time player on FFXI and I was excited to hear that FFXIV would have NMs randomly spawning. Wicked.
That in mind, the system is flawed, for better or worse, no point changing it now. If you want more "instanced" content, request SE to add more Guildhests before changing the Hunt. Sure, they drop Twine, but it's no different when Oil was available and everyone was grinding for their 110's. I'm part of 4 Hunt LS and an avid submitter, I still miss hunts. On Zalera we try to make it fair for everyone involved, but sometimes that is not the case, and ppl lose out. Instead of stiff upper lipping it like an adult, ppl /shout expletives and act like immature brats, kind of like this thread. Call it what you want, disguise it as an "Idea" but this is comparative to that person missing out and crying about it. They're random content, if you miss one or do not get full rewards, suck it up, look for the next hunt.
