fairies in low level dungeons

What's the best way to manage fairies when running in low level dungeons? :confused:

I have Eos or Selene mostly set on manual but that only limits the higher buffs.
I do my best to not steal aggro, as WHM I have complete control of heal timings, but as Scholar both Eos and Selene will spot heal any party member.
In the last dungeon (Tam-Tara, I think) it was impossible for tank to keep aggro, and I could tell he was really trying.
I kinda felt like a jerk but I didn't know what to do about it (other than dismissing the fairy, which I didn't want to do)

What would be the a good way of handling this?

If a tank cant handle Fairyaggro....sorry but if the healer doesnt overheal the tank was really crappy...
Or the Tank was like paper and the fairy have to heal her ass of lol, but srsly if you use 2-3 Flash/Overpower you dont lose aggro to this little helper.

Yeah, fairy aggro is only ever an issue if the tank is extraordinarily bad/badly geared or the fairy is on Sic and blowing cooldowns right as a tank is beginning to pull a spread-out group of mobs.

In other words it should never happen even when forcibly spamming Embraces.

Honestly, fairy can tank this dungeon no problem. But yeah, new tank not taking properly.

U dont need to micro manage it, even som lazy sch put follow to tank and go afk amd the fairy does everything, if u dont want to be lazy, dps while eos heals

If I use SCH in low levels I just sit in Cleric Stance. Eos is OP as shit in those places.

As many have been saying, you don't need to heal if you have the Eos out. Just sustain it if it takes damage, stay in cleric stance and DPS to your heart's content.

If you don't want it to heal, can't you just place it in Steady? I know that in Obey it'll still use embrace but I'm pretty sure Steady just makes it do absolutely nothing.

Then you can use Sic or Obey when the tank has enough aggro.

No , anytime target is under 80% Eos will heal it, even outside of parties random players get heals from my Eos all the time when they switch from like a low lvl DPS to a tank

My mistake, you were right. I could've sworn that they didn't heal under Steady.

But as for the topic, Selene definitely shouldn't be taking aggro just from embraces. Eos might with her whispering dawn though.

Eos with Fey Illumnation on an average item level of i118+ can heal for up to 14-1600 and yes I've seen it get agro but it will never hold it the heals aren't persistent enough as if you're not manually causing her to heal , she won't heal anything sub 80%

Eos needs no management, though I have her Macro'd in with my Physick so she heals whomever I am healing. But regardless of dungeon level, I have never ever ever taken aggro from a tank. That tank just wasn't even trying to take aggro off you at all.

For the first four dungeons I honestly barely have to heal at all, maybe look at HP just to make sure, esp during boss fights and with new tanks, but most of that time I just sit in CS and let Eos do whatever. Every once in a while I see that Eos has stolen aggro, but usually the mob dies in time for her to not die.

If you really wanna heal as SCH in lower level, just don't bring out your fairy (but why....)

I look at low-level duties as excellent opportunities for new SCHs to practice advanced fairy management (e.g. weaning off of heal+embrace macros in favor of Embrace<mo>, using the fairy to precast heals and cover extended CS usage, placing and heeling at need, etc.).

^ That is true. No serious SCH should have Embrace macro'd to one of your heals. Have a <mo> <t> macro and learn to use it one who you need, when you need.

I leveled SCH almost solely through dungeons and class quests and Eos rarely pulled aggro. I have a vague memory of it happening once on a boss fight that was taking a long time, but I can't remember another instance of it happening. Eos is really overpowered though in lower level dungeons and if she had a DPS spell she could probably solo the whole thing.

The tank sounds really bad or really new. Fairyaggro is incredibly easy to deal with in low dungeons since Eos/Selene only heal when someone is <80%. A spambot healer who only uses cure/physick is harder to deal with, and they are a lot worse for a group in low dungeons because Eos and Selene don't really "overheal" (they do, but that's because their heal is OP as fuk in low levels, they just don't heal when you don't need it).

It doesn't really matter who is tanking what in low dungeons. Sastasha, Copperbell Mines and Tam-tara are quicker and easier when the tank focuses on DPS and Eos/Selene tank the mobs (as in, the mobs go to whoever and she'll probably take them with healing going on).

Just go Cleric and everything is cake.

Use sic for Selene to auto cycle buffs and obey for Eos and practice micromanaging them. If the tank can't keep aggro from the fairy then something is wrong from the tank perspective. Ask them to flash or overpower more if they are losing a few in the pack that aren't being actively burnt down. If they are losing aggro on a mob while doing thier aggro rotation, they need a gear upgrade (and I'd imagine the DPSers are doing most of the tanking at that point).

I'd highly recommend learning how to use Selene without Sic as well. Both fairies should be managed, even if Selene isn't nearly as awful on auto as Eos is.

Eos can tank hard mode dungeons so why not let her be the main healer/tank in low level dungeons. I tend to dd and really never need to heal, unless the tank decides to pull extra.

Ack my laziness has shown through! I'll be honest I usually use Selene in inconsequential content like 4 mans where there aren't difficult dps checks or healing and I just don't care enough to micro manage her as usually it's only tank damage.

Absolutely would agree to your point though and now feel guilty of offering bad advice. When I have used Selene to help with dps checks I have managed her buffs individually to ensure the appropriate one is available at the correct time (T5 about a year ago I did this for my group that was struggling in the dps dept on some phases). Admittedly I'm not a Fcob healer right now so I'm not sure if she gets more use there.
