Big fan of the new opening and logo.
Thanks bro! Just about went broke following your guide heh.
So worth it though!
Hi Xeno, firstly I'd like to to say I'm a huge fan of your videos, your warrior guide made me man the f up a few months ago and ever since then I've been trying to optimise warrior for huge DPS output whilst obviously not making it too hard for my healers in progression on FCOB.
Anyway, I've recently melded the full right side platinum accessories, content-wise we are still on t13 but looking at a down on reset, been really unlucky with drops and still pretty much running some of the terrible left side 120 gear as well as the 120 weapon.
Here's how I melded my accessories, I'm a bit scared that I've gone way under on accuracy.
Str neck : Det4 Det4 Vit4 Vit4 Vit3
Str ears: Vit4 Vit4 Acc4 acc4 vit3
Str wrist det4 det4 vit4 vit4 vit3
Str rings det4 det4 vit4 vit4 acc4

Can you let me know what you think and if you think anything needs an adjustment?
As someone who can just barely afford to purchase a full set of accessories + plus materia (and extra materia .__.)... is it worth investing in crafted accessories this close to the expansion? We're expecting the level cap to be raised sometime this spring so any and all level 50 gear will likely be completely useless. Am I wrong? I really want these accessories, but I also want to be sure I'm making sound investments. I know any time new accessories are released the old ones are "obsolete," but there's a big difference between ilvl 90vs110, and actual level 50vs60.
They are really good once melded but nowhere close to being required for any content.
I'd recommend not making them unless you are rolling in gil. T13 is easily doable without them and there is no savage content. By the time Alexander comes out we will be lvl in all new gear sets. And if they are needed them just make them at that point.
Solid reasoning, thanks!
While you're not wrong that there will eventually be better gear (clearly), the expansion isn't due to come out for another 3-4 months. It's up to you if that's too long to wait for a substantial DPS increase or not. Keep in mind that a big part of doing great damage as a WAR involves knowing when you can and can't turn off defiance.
If you are farming T13 and completing Savage SCoB already and you don't need the stats then by all means skip them. These are, however, a huge boon to the dps that tanks can shell out and for a static still progressing in FCoB, can make a huge difference in raiding (getting 4 bennus, skipping 3rd flatten, etc).
You get what you pay for.
Finally starting to make/meld accs.
The min maxer of side is screaming to put that last vit iv into all of my accs instead of a iii and MAN MODE this shiz! If you can make a mythic in ffxi you can man up for this! Dont settle. You NEVER settle! MAN UP!
The coldly logical and rational side screams 6% on T IV or ONE vit is beyond stupid. 1 vit per acc means jack all and you KNOW it. You've been running game formulas and calculating optimal stuff for over a decade. You KNOW this doesn't matter one bit!
But I know I'll be a little annoyed every time I look at them if I settle for a T iii for months.
HALP!
Well said SirTaint. :) That's my #1 beef with FF 14 so far:
* There's too much Vertical Progression and Gear being outdated every 3 - 6 months (depending on when you get lucky w/ your RNG chests). I sincerely hope we get more Horizontal Progression in 3.0 Heavensward.
Thanks.
Indeed. I wish there were relevant big grinds to go after. Making my mythic (way back when) was the most fun and satisfying thing ive done in a game (followed by empy, and relic lol). But there arent things to strive for in this game like that. So I just make multiple relics and penta meld junk instead lol.
Maybe in heavensward. One can only hope.
Thanks for all the great info in your tanking guides. :) I main healer (whm specifically but I use sch a lot too) but I like to tank sometimes as well, though I haven't done too much of the more difficult stuff just yet. A while ago I made and melded a full ruby set with semi-budget melds (acc IV vit IV vit IV on them all). So far I've made the fending earrings and slaying bracelets for platinum for the guaranteed acc which will save me money on overmeld failures. I did str IV str IV str III for the earrings (two det III at the end whenever I get around to it) and vit IV vit IV vit III on the bracelets (same deal with with det III). I'm just prioritising the main stats at the expense of 2 less det per piece.
