Pony Drop Rates

Anyone had a chance yet to do any extremes and gotten any consistent drops on the mounts?

While I doubt anyone's done it yet, I'll be interested to see too.

But I think Ex primal farming will be put on hold for a lot of people until they get through the new dungeons, storylines, etc.

was going to make a thread myself but i figured id wait a bit till people had a bit of time. Not holding my breath on the rates. Id be happy with a 30-40% but i may be asking for too much :D

I'd be surprised with anything higher than 10%, tbh.

After long studies since the patch studies I have found that the new drop rate is 15.2%

Am I correct in assuming that falls under the 93.6% of all numbers, that are made up on the spot? :p

Haven't done a primal fight yet, but after 100ish Garuda's and losing the roll for 7 Xanthos and 5 Nightmares, holy crap do I hope the drop rate was increased substantially.

totally agree. on another note, im tired of seeing ponies. How bout something different :)

saw ifrit's after 3 runs today, that was all I did so idk.

0/15 on Ifrit Pony post-update.

Did Shiva EX in DF and saw pony drop twice in a row. Safe to say drop rates have been increased by quite a lot! I haven't bothered to do any other EX primals yet since I've been busy with grinding out Lucis tools and hunts.

I'd put it around 10%-15% drop rate. Seen about 6 ifrit ponies and 4 garuda ponies after about 10-20+ runs of each primal. Sometimes back to back drops.

Nightmare still seemingly has a worse drop rate in comparison. IIRC, only saw 1 between those 10 ponies.

0/15 for me on Ifrit. Definitely need a larger sample size, but that's all I've done so far.

20 Leviathan runs saw 2 ponies. 21 Garuda runs saw 2 nightmares and 1 garuda pony. 1 Ramuh 1 pony. 6 Shiva 1 pony. So far what I've done since patch. It seems like it's about a 10% drop rate now.

They seem to come in bursts - yesterday 0/12 Shiva, 3/6 Titan, 2/8 Garuda, 0/8 Leviathan.

1/9 on Garuda runs the other day.

Had Levi drop one after 3 runs between today and last night

Best thing to do while farming for these mounts is to use the tanks so you can double dip in achievements lol I don't even PLD and I have mines up to 180/200 but only 3 mounts to show for it .....

MFW I roll a 95 in Levi last night and some one who went overboard rolls a 97

I done them a lot I would say its something like 10%

I did 40 shivas yesterday and had 3 dropped.

I finally got Aithon in 4th day of 2.5,i kept farming Ifrit all days on DF and got average 7-10 win per day(ppl still sucks at ifit ...).so from roughly 30-40 win i saw 3 pony drops and i won the 3rd roll.i gonna say 10% drop rate is sound about right.

P.S. .Fire Pony is the only Primal Mount I always need so I won't bother farm all others 5.screw the kirin Mount !!!

did 20 garuda and like 10 titan. Saw 1 nightmare whistle out of 30 and no other mounts.

I ran Levi 5xs won the 1 pony drop there then switched to 1tank and heal for 3 garuda runs no pony there but I have seen a big increase in drop rate the 10% does sound and seem right on

This drop rates are either true or they are glitched.

a couple of days a go we been farming leviathan for over 5 hours on the first hour we had 4 Drops which is great but after that there were no drops at all. Nothing. Same story with ramuh. But funny enough drops on other primals are more frequent.

Anyone had this issue with ramuh and Levi?

My FCs raid group had not had any drops for a long time, and then suddenly last raid night we got two drops in four runs~ Either REALLY lucky or or really good drops XD

Got a group together today and yesterday. Kept switching between primals. In the end we did 10 Garuda's, 4 titans, 13 ifrit's, 6 shiva's, 2 ramuhs and saw no mounts. lol. I have the best luck with pony drops.

2/2 ramuh yesterday, and 1/2 garuda. but 3 days ago there was 2/30 garuda runs to drop nightmare and no xanthos. a friend also did 5 hours of garuda (avout 50 runs with no drops at all

they drop much more, already started to see people with the collection dragon/horse mount

one drop in 27 runs of Shiva ex, I didn't win it either.

Did about 20 Titan runs and we saw 2 Nightmares in a row, no Titan mount.

Figured I would add my two cents... FC leader did some Garuda farming yesterday and said he encountered three whistle drops after doing about 13 runs.

Did over 40 Ex primals this weekend and saw 3. My personal rate this weekend was awful. Our group I think is pretty close to saying it isn't worth it since the rates are too abysmal.

My group farmed Garuda for about 2 hours the other night, we got 3 Xanthos and a Nightmare.
Since the patch in total we've gotten;
4 from Garuda (not counting the Nightmare)
2 from Titan
1 from Ifrit
1 from Shiva
and we've just been running an hour or two a night after raid is done.
The drop rate has been good enough to us for us all to aim for Kirin.

Done 8 garu ex's and 28 shiva ex's and I've yet have to see a pony drop. Actually I've never even seen one drop even before the update... Bad luck I guess? haha

It's this feature called RNG and sometimes it's a cruel mistress.

The drop rate could be 70% and you would still have people that go on bad luck streaks and not have the mount drop for awhile.

One of my friends saw two pony drops in a row on Shiva the other day.

Personally, my stats from the last few days are 1 Ramuh run, 5 Shiva runs, no drops yet.

One of the reasons why probably it takes forever to drop from ramuh and levi is to Mirrors and weapons. because we farm for hours the other primals and we see them all the time. It seems that after 1 or 2 hours it just stops dropping for us from ramuh and levi ( we do farm for at least 5-6 hours non-stop)

I wont do any of these EX Primal stuff o-O 1st: I has my wished mount: Unicorn - Not interesst in any others except we get a Pegasus!
And Im sure the drop rate was 1%, and after the patch its now at 2%? o_O There arnt any detailed infos.

I've seen 3 Shiva pony drops in a row a few days ago when I got time.
5/8 of the party already got it before I joined, I was pretty much the last one who got it.

Did 5 ramuh kills, 3 pony dropped. Rolled 99 on 1st one.

Leviathan one I got months ago the 1st time I saw it drop I was the lucky guy who got it, so i haven't touched him after this patch.


So far I've never seen Titan dropping any mounts.

Garuda and Ifrit drop it kinda frequently but my rolls are always bad.

I think its about 10% (Been farming them)
