Something strange is afoot.

I've walked from one side of Eorzea to the other, and I've seen a lot of strange stuff, but I've never seen quite like this:

Could be hack bots, they warp around a lot and some actually warp underground to try avoid being caught so will find mobs appear to be attacking nothing but if select mob and then it's target it will highlight the bot underground attacking it.

Yeah. They were there in launch week. They are still there now. Only more sophisticated. Me is sad.

I saw the same there also, maybe 3-4 months or so ago. Not quite sure whats going on though.

At least it's pretty amusing to see bots do botty things, albeit sad!

Those bots are actually teleporting around doing mainstory quests, I followed one bot from Ul`dah all they way to Costa de sol (Titan I assume), reported it when If first saw it and just followed a mainstory guide to figure out which NPC it would be talking to and which mobs it would be killing.

Fun Fact, if the bot attacks a mob and you send it a trade request it bugs their AI and they just stand there and die. After it dies it teleports back to the point it died to try and complete the quest again.

Also when the quest requires the bot to level up they gather in swarms and start attacking mobs in one area, managed to report a whole lot of them just by following that one bot around.

Bots seem to prefer black mages, although I saw some arcanist bots south of Quarrymil killing Rats.

It was actually pretty funny to watch, since the bot was using some hack that made his character sink in the ground so all you saw was his mage hat clipping slightly out of the ground.

But yeah if you want to see some weird bots go to Western Thanalan (27, 7) in front of copperbell, that is where they usually stop in swarms to level.

Thats funny, because that is where this clip is from, there were more to the other side

Launch week last year, if you stood in front of one of the Ul'dah Lv.1~5 quest givers, you will see a never ending (and I mean never ending) stream of teleport bots with randomly generated rubbish names handing in quests.

It was at a time when they still teleported in air. Nowadays they are one with the land.
