Where do these two armors come from? I imagine the left comes from World of Darkness, but what about the other one?

Looks like grinds for Alexandrite and soulglazing has been made easier too.

Looks like we're getting quite a few QOL additions!

retainer re-venture
warning for feeding thavnarion if no level increase
withdraw confirmation
desynth level cap increase (we can actually fully max out 3 now!)
No desynth level decreasing until capped
enmity list signs
search window not longer closes after buying from MB (I wanted that one!! woot!!!)

Left = WoD. right = Dungeon drops.

The image on the right was shown before and was said to be the set from the World of Darkness. Not sure where the set in the lefthand picture would come from though. Crafted maybe?

I'm willing to bet the prelim patch notes just has stupid errors as usual,

So the Left set is probably Dungeon gear and the Right set is from WOD.

Judging from the notes, I'm going to guess the Mystery Trial could be against Lahabrea (or another Ascian).
1) the quest starts in N. Thanalan
2) the achievement: Secret Ascian Man --- Defeat ??? in ???.
3) the auto-translate: Duty --- the void

The name of the mystery trial seems to be "The Chrysalis", in french.

I have a similar guess, in that at the end of 2.5 we are going to meet an ascian and solo fight them in the story, and we will get an extreme version.

I just hope that Odin, Gilg X, and the new trial all drop i120-i130 accessories!

The drop rates for the following Extreme primal battle rewards have been increased: 　Aithon Whistle / Xanthos Whistle / Gullfaxi Whistle / Enbarr Whistle / Markab Whistle / Boreas Whistle

Alex drop rate is increased if you have animus, novus or nexus AND get gold rank on a successfully cleared FATE

Pretty sure that there is a fair chance that the secret trial has us fighting an Ascian since one of the requirements happens somewhere in the middle of the main scenario quest chain. That, and both are tied to the same NPC. xD

Maybe one day they can make alex a currency for materia or something. I already have 110+ granted ill be using some for a relic later. But there's got to be many people like me that are way ahead on alex and could use a place to spend them. Materia seems like a great option for it to go into, to help people get that maxed out relic they want so bad. And bring down materia prices a little bit. If done right it could help with prices, and not make it stupid cheap, and no longer profitable for the sellers. Hell they could make it where you can attempt to use alex in place of the materia you put into the weapon, so say use 2 alex, instead of 1 alex + 1 materia. But significantly increase the chance of breaks. That could work, but would require some lore.. Or bring x number of alex to the materia goblin(forgot his name) and he will attempt to create the materia you need, with high chance of failure. A side note, they likely should change alex to stack at 999. I'm guessing its going to drop like atma does now.

I still don't see any adjustment to dungeon drops. They've said in many interviews somewhere that they know there is a big problem with gear not dropping in dungeons, its just giving crafting materials most of the time. Did lost city the other day, and saw two filtered water after a boss. I'm thinking really, why have crafting stuff drop from both chests? Either add a third chest for gear, and leave the other 2 as is. Or make one exclusive to crafting and one to gear. Obviously for single chest boss's similar changes need to be done. It sucks if people are trying to gear up this way. It should be a little easier imo. So its nice to see new dungeon gear, but I doubt we will see a full set anytime soon.

Also this is prelim notes, so maybe there's some more awesome stuff we are missing.

/random was the best thing about this patch.

They still failed to remove the pvp requirement where I must play with my grand company. When is square going to realize that the main reason people don't play much is because they can't play with friends easily? Everyone I've spoken to about this in my FC agrees that we would all play it more if this restriction was removed. With the new rules I was hopeful they would remove this limit, but have once again been dissapointed. Nothing was more fun than playing with all 8 people on my team at the fan fest. A shame I won't get that again.

Meh, I don't like the new dungeon gear for Dragoon, at least the WoD set looks good.

Wow, the new Frontlines looks pretty fun; lot of great QoL changes too. This patch looks great!

so i thought that you can get one carbon item and one gear item from WoD, is that not the case?

I hope the new gear (not the WOD gear) is actually dungeon drops, because it looks great.

Aether Wheel is fail. How disappointing something that seemed it would be related to crafting is nothing more than a secondary method to obtaining actions o_O like really. That's just how disappointing lol.
