Bonus coffers with mobs guarding them should be removed from the game

There are often bonus coffers that require to kill a few mobs to get. The problem is that nobody ever get them. Even as a tank, I get yelled at for opening them. Frequently nobody in my party will follow me when I go for a bonus coffer. They'll just stay there and yell at me instead.

Because some elitists decided that they personally don't want to open these coffers, then nobody does. They decided that. It doesn't matter whether the items can potentially be useful or not, or if coffers contain certain items that can't be found anywhere else in the entire game. Elitists do not care about that. They order you to skip them.

So my solution is to just remove these kind of coffers from the game entirely. Just put coffers on the main paths instead.

Skip them, then after everyone exits, run back and tag them all.

Nothing is preventing you from doing this. Unless you just wanted to make a thread and throw the word 'elitists' around for no reason as flame bait.

Build a premade party of friends/fc members who won't mind opening them.

This is a strategy I use to good results. Even with monsters guarding them they can't kill you before you open the chest and receive the contents. You suffer a little armor damage, but worth it if you're looking for a particularly item because if it drops its yours uncontested.

Go with the flow.
Use Elitrix strat if you have Elitistrix in the group, get coffers normal way with non synched players in the group.
Don't let simple things bother you.
Hakuna matata.

Because them ether pots are so important XD
Also, the newer dungeons, the extra chests are on the main path now, or unguarded.

So your idea, they have already done it ^_^

Yeap!!, get ALL that stuff for yourself.

I ran WP for my Zodiak quest and made out like a bandit. Can you say, NIN,DRG,MONK, BArD,Smn,and Sch. relic starters!! lol I went back thru the DF on heals, the Mobs melt like butter, easy gil.

And if you don't mind the longer queue time, you can go undetected using Hide.

Nope. They break your hide. Only seems to work in lower levels. Tried it in AK at one point and the moment I was in range got aggroed.

People want dungeons done fast at endgame. Easiest way I know of to make them want the chests is to make it so there are soldiery/poetics in the chests as well, like 10-20 soldiery and 5-10 poetics.

I don't agree all the time with Ellatrix, but that's exactly what should be done in this case.

Yeah I vote for saving the chests for yourself post-run unless the party members vocalize wanting to get them- more for you that way. I've run WP on SMN in particular quite a few times so that as soon as the other three players are out the door, I pull out my 10k+ HP Titan-Egi tank pet instead of Garuda, and run backwards to the chests with relic parts that no one opened. Titan takes all the mobs in the areas we bypassed (at least some of which are bindable as well if I recall correctly), and if he kicks the bucket for some reason while I'm opening the chests I can just summon a new one. Easy solo chest runs on that class once the bosses are dead and the other party members gone.

I love when there are useful coffers (not potions) left behind. That just means that I can have the contents uncontested later (as long as I remember)!

This! My reaction when I run WP via DF and everyone skips chests because they are in such a hurry.

They did. If you read their replies carefully, you'll note several of them suggest just soaking the damage, running by and tagging the chest, and keeping right on running. As long as you don't get Heavy on you, you should be fine

Some things at level 50 seem have a true sight/sound aggro it seems.

I haven't been able to test much (most people just run forward and catch the aggro when I try), but I think enemies in dungeons just have both sight and sound aggro. If you're walking behind some enemies it doesn't seem to trigger, but the moment you speed up or they turn around you're caught.

I made a bug report for the overworld (wasn't accepted though), where only non-aggro enemies get the sound aggro icon (that is worthless on them because they don't aggro), while the sound aggro enemies just get the sight aggro icon. It's funny walking into the middle of a group of, for example, sprites or efts to pick off the enemy I want, and then some random person just runs right in, catches aggro from everything, and dies right at my feet (usually in a FATE).
