Is it worth it to switch grand companies?

I recently unlocked the ability to switch grand companies and am curious if there is any real benefit to switching?

Unless you want something specifically for vanity reasons, there isn't much reason to switch. You can't use any of your old GC gear and you have to start the new GC missions from the beginning. You have to be the same GC as a friend if you want to do frontlines with them so that is something to think about.

I'm obsessed with vanity stuffs, so I went to all 3 GC's to get all 6 minions and all the barding(even though I can only wear my current GC's barding). Other than that, only real reason to switch GC's is to be in the same one as your friends if you all plan to do PvP together in the frontlines.

I switched, and I liked it. Actually I switched and maxxed out every GC. :P But I'm a completionist. haha

Vanity is the major reason. I completed two GCs for the minions but I still need to do Maelstrom; maybe after I become less attached to my beautiful Flame Loincloth...

If you're into Frontlines PvP then its worth it to switch to a winning GC. Otherwise, GC-specific gear for glamour, etc

What about the furniture? I just came back from a hiatus and noticed that the GCs now sell furniture. Do the furniture sold all look the same?

I'm planning to buy a housing plot in Gridania but I'm currently in Immortal Flames...

I switched to a different one cause i thought i had too T.T but hey got it to highest rank and now that vanity armor is open to me anytime i want to switch back :D

While YOU can only buy your GC's furniture with seals, you can still buy other GC's furniture on MB for gil, or get lucky and have a retainer bring you some.

I have a room in the Lavender Beds with my FC, but my room is done up in Oasis and Immortal Flames themed furniture, since I love Ul'dah's aesthetic and am a rebid member of the Flames.

The GC furniture is all themed to match the look of the home city and are emblazoned with the GC's logo. While you can buy them with seals from the GC, I got most of my from the marketplace for surprisingly cheap.

Id really like some hunt gear from the other nations but that means i loose my pvp rank, and at 30+ as someone who doesn't like pvp that much that hurts. not to mention the fact the gear i want i cant wear when i switch back anyways... so im kind of disappointed hunts are nation based because id love some of the gear without the loss of pvp rank and ability to wear other nation hunt gear

Switch to the one that has 90 minute wait times? If I cared about frontlines that much I would switch to a losing side to actually get in.

I switched to use the seals I had, I had 50k I wasnt using until the zodiac quest called for 80k so I used the ones I had saved then switched back.
