i just hope i am not repeating anyone else's forum thread for the millionth time :(
i guess i should get this thread a rollin :P at the moment i only have 3 ideas
1: my first idea is a new class/job i have told this to my FC many a time and they all said ninja but the class i am talking about i believe is a bit different. the job idea i wish to share with you all is a sword fighting class that starts out as a shieldless gladiator that has the role of dps, as you level this "swordsman" you will gain two very unique abilities that will not only change your fighting stance but also your weapon and abilities the first stance would be around a fencer focusing purely on auto attack reducing the strength and increasing the cooldown of abilities immensly as to gain more limit break, the second stance is more combo oriented as you do more abilities in one of the many correct orders your cooldown will gradually decrease and your damage gradually increase but be wary for if you break the combo you are
instantly snaped out of the stance and the cooldown to get back into it would be very long, jobs for this class would focus purely on the stances themselves removing themas an abilitie for use, the first job being a duel wielding sword class and the second job being a fencer. i feel as though i have rambled on long enough for this message so i shall wait awhile to share with you all my other 2 ideas. thank you for listening and i hope you all enjoy my thoughts :)
When you talk about fencing, people think about Red Mage, a job using a rapier and magic. That's what I think of anyway.

This might be the place I was looking for. I'm brewing a nice little story idea about the echo, moogles, a way to experience 1.0 storylines and another former FF final boss after we kill the Cloud of Darkness in 2.5. The only thing I lack is a place to post it.

I find it hard to come up with job ideas in the current environment. Lots of things are predictable about the game, but jobs aren't one of them. I feel they really threw a curveball and surprised us with Astrologian and Machinist. Maybe when I see how these new jobs set precedents for how jobs work going forwards, then it will give me some ideas to build on. There's a thing about abolishing base classes and just having the new jobs unlocked from the start that they have not entirely explained yet.

with my job ideas i was kinda throwing away the whole square enix is no longer doing classes thing :P mostly because its kinda a waste in my opinion to instantly get the job instead of working through the class as a noob and learning about the way you fight as that class before finally gaining the purest form of that class :P

Okay, so either in the 3.0 patch cycle, during a raid attunement quest or even the 4.0 main storyline the Scions are summoned
by Inspector Hilldibrand himself, who got stuck with the case
to the Moogle Village, to help solve the recent kidnapping outbreak.
It turns out the evil witch living in her nearby castle, Ultimecia somehow grew more evil and decided to kidnap everyone with sufficiently advanced magical powers to use in her experiments.
The victims will soon include all the Scions
, but the player won't be alone for long as Ultimecia, with the power of the Echo and all the captives she has bound and gagged in her dungeon initiates time compression and this gives the heroes an opportunity to fight alongside the younger 1.0 versions of the Scions, possibly including Louisouix himself and against former enemies like Nael, Gaius, Travanchet and Shantotto as they go closer to the monster and vampire filled castle of the witch.excluding Minfilia, who will be forced to be actually usefull
Naturally Ultimecia is defeated and time compression reversed.
And in a delicious case of irony instead of her posessing other sorceresses, it was she who got posessed by a yet unknown female Ascian who wanted to use Ultimecia's knowledge of time compression to bring the future resurrection of Zodiark closer.
greetings everyone i would like to share with you my second idea :)
my second idea is an ability this ability would be available for all classes and races . . . . . as long as they get married :P it will be an ability that greatly increases your stats for a duration of 10-20 global cooldown abilities instead of a timer. its visual effect would be that of the magiked prism's (wings) and would replace the 99 of those that you get for getting married :) its cooldown would be very long though as to prevent people from being overly powerfull :P
my third idea is yet another ability but this one would be for monk specifically :P from what i have heard as you play the monk quest line you unlock gates of chi, 8 if i remember correctly but i don't recall it ever saying anything about opening them. so why not put it as an ability that would be very good for a monk but would upset Naruto fans? :3 i figure that the first 3 gates would cost MP as an initial cast to open the gate and it would slowly eat away at your MP till its gone then it would turn off, the next 3 would cost TP as an initial cast but drain your MP much more rapidly then the first 3. and the last 2 will cost both TP and MP as an initial cast but when your MP is gone it will start eating away at your health, as a bonus though it would rapidly regain your TP to be most effective for that short time before the monks death. :)
OP reminds me of this website I used to play on when I was little called "Neopets". I remember you coild just spam the daylights out of your forum topic. Dunno if Neopets still exists, but it certainly has left it's mark on people I guess.
Survival.
A dungeon that keeps spawning monsters after every 10 matches you get a repair npc and move to next match.
If you some how make it to the very end you get a prize and a leader board telling your time you've won.
If you lose before you get to the end you still get put on leader board how far you made it you get a random item like a retainer would bring you.
Another idea.
Since they hesitate to bring classic characters to the game, have a special dungeon basically like the arena in kingdom hearts where people from all over the place come to fight and have 1 on 1 matches with classic bosses, classic heroes, classic bosses.
Call it Time space arena, really not my idea dissidia and kingdom hearts thing.
