To DEV: Please add "D"

We currently have Waymarkers: A,B,C

Please add D

When doing PUG runs it is much more simple as a leader to direct people to a big bright floating letter then to "North,south,east,west"


A,B,C,D would help with guiding people around a map, whether its Shiva's ice or Coils dive bombs.

The three year old in me looks at a character name, looks at the request, and just... yeah... Sorry.

But I'm in full support of more waymarkers!

I mean SE is alrdy giving it to us pretty hard with all the Cash Shop Content, yet its fans Still want the "D".

This was requyested way back when they added waymarks, and the dev response was no because it wasn't meant to be able to mark every location in a fight.

I have no objections to a 4th waymarker.

Give to me the D

I too would like a big "D" that I could project across the screen, one big enough that all of my party members could see.

Why cause that would make things too easy? HAA Get over yourself SE, FFXIV is one of the easier MMOs out there. Look at them feign difficulty. HA!

Dev answer to this before was no. They only made the waymarks for 24 mans(like CT); one marker for each team. They're there to show where each team should stand.

I personally think the devs should reconsider that "no". Waymarks were used in other ways then the devs expected. In good ways. The players made them more useful. The dev team should evolve with the players.

Hell look at WoW, they have all kinds of Markers.

it would make Garuda useless as a placemarker and thus making Summoners less useful so they wont do it..

They won't give the hips and butts back to the female characters, I don't think they will give us the "D".

The devs should reconsider this, they freakin caved into the complaints on the primal mount drop rates, adjusted slightly the lock out in final coil, and over nerfed 2nd coil, ye like this is a major set back, I rather explain fights visually then body pull bosses, that helps to explain right SE.

For stuff like Shiva Ex... and other stuff... we call it D and everyone knows that it's the unmarked position...
If they cave in and add a D, next people will ask for an E, and then F, etc.

While it would be convenient, I'd rather the devs concentrated on other things.

a "D" makes sense for the following reasons:
1) There are 4 people in light parties. One position for each person in a fight.
2) 4 roles in most raids (tank, healer, rDPS, mDPS) with different positions
3) a lot of bosses, such as shiva, use more than 3 locations for things.
4) Before a fight, when demonstrating a mechanic, multiple marks is helpful.

There's really no good reason to not have a D other than "4 is bad luck" (which it is in Japan. But we have 4 person parties....)

Plz give us the whole alphabet + numbers and symbols so I can draw on the ground and cover everything and no one can see anything

I think it would also be nice to have a set of 'flat' way markers - meaning the ring on the ground displays but no pillar of light or letter displays (Maybe letter can be in the ring flat on the ground?)

nice idea, however if a aoe attack were to hit near a flat marker, it will cover it entirely and make it harder to see, but the option is nice to have it non the less.

The response was more to the tune of "if we added additional waymarkers, we would need to design content in a way that would make use of them."

In other words, if your strategy requires more than 3, you are complicating things unnecessarily. Rethink your strategy to make the most of what you have now.

This is upto the players to decide, not you or SE. You cannot place your own personal limitation to other people, doesnt work like that. Other groups can grasp it a lot better, people just dont want to have to body pull or take longer then needed to explain when more markers speed up the process.

Currently only 3 markers are available for use, whilst they're a completely invaluable boost to most co-coordinating your party through content. Seeing as most arenas have;

Four corners,
Four places to run,
Four things to run TO,
Four things to run FROM.

Anyone else feel it would be a nice addition in the future? (Only for ONE more marker, not several).




THIS IS A REQUEST, not a demand.

I can understand as with every request it's importance isn't a high one, however this would be a nice addition to raiding content as opposed to calling 'D' the "Opposite" side.

That seems like a very ... I can't even think of the right word..narrow? selfish? inconsiderate? response.
Basically, they don't care how players want to do tactics, that we should do it the way they think we should do it. That they don't want the game to evolve with the players that actually use it.

It's a prefectly acceptable response.

They said they have no plans for it. It's original purpose was to aid-alliances.

I would like to see either a 4th waymak, or for fights to be in more interesting arenas that have visual landmarks built in, instead of just big flat circles, like Turn 1.

Why won't they do this add a d e and f?

A lot of the turns were designed to have markings in order to aid players.

Subtle markers though.

I'd like to see a D way-mark as well since my name starts with a C my ls members just call me C so when we have all 3 way-marks up and we're in teamspeak and someone starts yelling C,C,C,C! it gets confusing :confused:

Add the V too, so as to not to disturb the ying and yang.

I'm all up for the "D."

As a tank with nothing better to do in dungeons I would purposely place the way marker over Fem'qotes in my parties during those bland pulls.

I don't know, I mean, in most fights it's pretty easy to work out where D would be. Shiva for example. It's the only place that hasn't got a marker. In other fights as well, there's usually predetermined places so if there's not a marker there, safe to assume that is where D would be. Fine with just A/B/C in my opinon.
