Multi-Duty-Finding [Can I have it?]

A simple suggestion, I promise.

Please allow us to "add selection to queue", with different jobs.

For example, I jump into roulette feeling spicy on my level 39 ninja...and it says 26 min wait.. 30 min later.. I don't wanna cancel it... SO!

I wish to be able to change jobs (or same job!) select a duty and click "add to my queue". So that I can queue for a total of 5 different duties (like now) but on up to 5 different jobs as well.

Previous selected duties can not be removed (same as now) without withdrawing..this keeps people from doing stupid stuff/loopholing.

Example Queue:
Roulette - 39 Ninja
LotA - 50 Dragoon
Roulette - 15 Archer
Coil 4 - Dragoon
Coil 4 - BLM

(In the above case, should coil 4 pop..for simplicity's sake it would force me to pick one or the other..but since they're both DPS I guess it could say "Duty Finder Ready: DPS Role- Choose: (DRG / BLM icon)")

Never understood why this wasn't a thing from the beginning.... Seems it would help fill out the queues a lot quicker.

I assume its to difficult to implement with the Duty finder and how the matchmaking allgorythm may work

What if two of them pops? You would have to withdraw one. You would get so many withdraw penalties too. The server would be looking to place you in TONS of locations cause of roulette. You could even double dip if you did roulette and regular queue at the same time. The duty finder server already gets confused as it is by single roulette queues and multi-selection queues. This would just crash the server. This idea sounds awful.

I'd just like to be able to Duty Find with my choboco out. I don't want to take it into the dungeon. Just be able to do fates and stuff with it out while waiting for Dungeons and stuff to pop.

Well that won't be an issue. It'd be just like how DF is now, except it would include different jobs, and it would just keep cycling through until it found a match. "Any Halatali SM need a DRG? Nope. Let's see if Haukke Manor HM needs a BRD. Nope. Shiva HM need a WHM? Yup! *pops*". No different than how it is now, just a more complex way of searching.

Probably why they haven't done it yet.
Duty Finder/Party search/Dungeon Finder/Happy Smile Fun Time Finder queues are ubiquitous in MMOs and I'm betting a lot of programmers trade notes on how to do it, but FFXIV is rather unique in that it has the ability to swap jobs on the fly. Thus, the layer of complexity involved is...palpable.
For all we know they could be working on it, but having to whip out fresh, delicious code for it probably takes a lot of time in the proverbial kitchen.

Considering that the game feels like double dipping classes at times (had a T7 queue with 2 WARs, 2 SCHs and 4 NINs....), I don't see how this would lead to any difference

This is an absolutely great idea at least to give us more of a feeling of randomness cuz ya know I often find myself unsure what class I want to play lol. However, this is likely near impossible to implement in practice due to how their matchmaker is setup I think... making it work would be very hard.

Here's a better idea, imo. Allow me to select the role I wish to queue for for dungeons, and be able to select all three (Tank, Heal, DPS) and just make me choose which role of the choice in those categories I wish to go as when the duty pops. If you don't want to tank, heal, or dps, then don't select those toggles. Make them like the language toggles, where if you click all three, it puts you in as whatever you can get first, and when it pops, if it's tank, you either switch to Paladin or Warrior, heal, you either switch to WHM or SCH, dps, pick one of the 6 and then select commence. Locking you into one class to queue for the duty finder makes little sense. 45 seconds is also plenty of time to switch classes too. Also, I agree on the being able to fight with choco out while in the DF.

It is the same as how it works now. The queue puts you in a party for a few seconds, then moves you to the next, then the next and so on until one if finally filled and pops. As the system is now it wouldn't have two pop at once. Really it is the same as now except multiple jobs.

Edit: Another user posted almost the same thing above, sorry to double post it.. But I am confused why you think two duties would pop at once with how DF works.

As someone who honestly can fill into all three roles at this point, I'm kind of sad I can't actually even queue for a single thing as "any role", and prompt me to swap into the correct one once it fills it. I recognise that the Duty Finder would probably require significant overhauling in order to support this however, but it would still be nice. Even just the same content, not necessarily different sets.

I want 2 peep +2 chocobo dungeons! XD That scale to 1 peep +choco. Which give good choco xp and tokens for Choco stuff (feeds, dyes, barding etc)

Also, able to use retainers as companions XD

It's a good idea but not very likely considering we still can't queue with companions because "it's another party member", despite the simple solution of offering an option to dismiss our companion once the queue pops or simply adding a different party identifier to chocobos, which yes, it's that simple. Would be much more work than they're already willing to spend on the DF infrastructure and the game as a whole really.
