Crafting, Retainers and Inn Rooms Simplified

okay so i'm really frustrated with this, crafting can be overwhelming because of the lack of inventory space on the players character, summoning retainers over and over again to pull crafting materials out and especially when theres a level organization going on within them is a pain

so my suggestion is to give us the ability to craft out of the retainers while we're near a summoning bell, that means the items stay in the retainer but as long as we're near the bell all the items act like they are in our inventory when on the crafting window, also we should be able to craft within an inn room so the summoning bells arn't overly crowded in the public spaces

more summoning bells should also be added to the cities in the game, like every class guild and grand company headquarters should have a summoning bell so we can craft in these locations as well

this would make the crafting in the game alot less frustrating for people

Totally agree with all this :)

As a crafter myself with 4 retainers its a nightmare keeping track of everything and crafting things.

The search for item function is better than nothing but it would still be better if we could have something similar to a reagent bank that we put crafting materials into and are able to craft items from that instead of needing to have the items in our inventory.

Also more summoning bells and market boards and summoning bells would be good especially for places like Ul'Dah and Mor Dhona....Mor Dhona having a complete lack of a market board and Ul'Dah being the most awkward place to use for them.

True they should have more accessibility for retainers and retainer goods while atleast referring to crafting goods. I agree with having an expanded inventory space while near the summoning bell and this should still help in staying true to the designer's initial plan of keeping the summoning bell relevant.

I don't see them putting market boards in Mor Dhona until the township there is more settled and expanded on. so soon enough we should be seeing them around that area.

(personally as a gatherer aswell, i wouldn't mind tackle boxes for such classes as Fisher, where the Lures would take over half an inventory slot or more if you try to stay diverse to the different types of lures.)

either way, your suggestion on the way retainers are used within crafting seems relevant and useful for all who desire to expand in that area of the game.

yeah i've heard people bring that up quite a few times and they would be great too, just something to make the crafting and storage alittle easier to deal with because i am the type of player who likes to have all my crafting materials easily accessed when crafting :P

agreed, right now it is a nightmare. If you're a 3-4 star crafter and craft for more then 1 job, keeping track and storing the items is terrible. The search function is almost useless as well since you can't search for something unless you already have at least 1 of that item in your inventory so what's the point. They have the special items tab which is virtually empty, I think It would be nice to have something like that for gathering mats. Also being able to pull things directly from your retainer when near the bell is a great idea as well. (or at least something similar.)

You can search from the recipe page - you don't need an item in your inventory.

I do totally agree with the original suggestions on this thread though. I keep my retainers fairly well organised, but opening and closing them constantly for crafting gets very tedious.

+1 I'm not even a crafter and fully I support this Idea.

+1, but I would like to include some history regarding this issue

Requetsed previously, ofcoz, no any response.

2. also we should be able to craft within an inn room
Previously I read that it was to prevent cheating, therefore inn-room will not allow crafting. Working as intended.

3. so the summoning bells arn't overly crowded in the public spaces
TBH, many bells were added previoulsy. This issue were greatly resolved.

IMO currently the ideal workaround would be, put your bell in your house and craft beside it in your own house. ^^;
