Ilvl 125 relic dungeon runs are way out of hand. Fix them.

I can't be the only person playing this game is that furious at SE for making another RNG based quest line to make ourselves stronger. When I first heard the requirements for all the quests I was most worried about the crafting part, but after doing this for almost two week, I can safely say the dungeons and RNG are the worst apart about it. SE really need to hot fix these ridiculous relic drops in the dungeons to be 15-20%. The first 4 I did was great. I got the drops in 1-2 runs and was thinking "Hey, this isn't so bad :D", but now after 5 days and farming the same 5 dungeons and getting nothing has made me consider stopping my sub to this game. It's one thing if there's work to be put into something, it's different when all that work is based on RNG and forces you to waste your time helping out people for days on end for little to no reward. I'm a tank so I can enter dungeons pretty much instantly all the time, yet it seems I always get stuck with under geared and/or lazy dps with healers that just stand around in boss fights when they should be helping dps when I'm in no danger so the dungeons will be over faster. I understand the point of this quest line is to put high geared players into lower dungeons to keep the game alive, but this is ridiculous. I've seen maybe 5 other players there were working on their relic this whole time. I may sound like a grump and a jerk, but Vaas said it best... "Did I ever tell you, the definition of insanity? Insanity is doing the exact... same f**king thing... over and over again, expecting... sh*t to change. That... is crazy"

I had to farm tomes and seals and the dungeons that offer me no rewards I care about except poetic tomes. Why should I even bother with this if I can run coil and get better armor and weapons there? Why should I hang around and help people in dungeons if it takes more work to get a single ilvl 125 weapon compared to ilvl 130 gear/weapons with similarly geared players? I've seen DPS players have their relic in the first 5 days. They can't even get into half the dungeon that I can and yet they get the drops easier? Is this SE way of forcing tanks to stay in the dungeons longer since they always need more tanks?

Why does SE like to make us mad and laugh at us?

One thing I hate in SE is making all this RNG things on places we can't even take advantage of the EXP and drops. I mean, lv50 dungeons, drops are bad (probl everyone have soldiery gear at least, already).

If we could 'grind' but at least having a bonus for that, like sharing even if 5% of exp, to your other classes or anything, that would worth running the same annoying content over and over. Same with Atma. Running fates that don't drop anything, you don't benefit from the exp nor anything.

Even if that exp would add as a 'rested exp bonus' to lower classes, it would be awesome.

If it weren't for the RNG this stage would be ridiculously too easy. It's even too easy as is.

First off... I totally understand your frustration. It sucks being at the mercy of RNG. That being said, it has been pretty much established that the drop rate is around 20%. You being a terrible statistical outlier just makes it worse in your scenario. Hopefully, things will even out a bit if another god-awful RNG based line to the quest is added later down the road. And, of course, it will.

I haven't read anything about it being 20%. I have read it was 11% at best and even than that was just a guess by a group of people using their own drops as evidence. If it were 20% people wouldn't have to run a single dungeon 30 times to get it to drop and many people I have talked too said they had to do just that.

I'm at 14/16 done after around 100 total dungeons. The first 10 went by quick, the next 4 took at least 10 runs each, Bray HM was 25+. I'm just glad DD and AV only took a combined 5 runs.

If it were 20%, you would have about a about a 1/50 chance of having at least one of your sixteen dungeons taking more than 30 runs. At 11%, you would have almost 2/5 of people having at least 1 dungeon taking over 30 runs.

This is why when Relic quests first comes out, you rush to finish it. As more and more people finish, people who know the dungeon won't run these dungeons.
It was like this for light grind, its the same for ilvl125.

Besides AV and DD, everything should be easypeasy

I did the low lvl dungeons on an alt. Was no way I was going into dd/av with a lvl 50....

dd/av should never have been included with the dungeons to get relic items. That was a sick and sadistic move on SE's part and benefits nobody. SE thinks they're helping leveling players but in fact they're doing them a disservice by putting them with unhappy, short on patience people who naturally clash with the levelers.

50's get absolutely NOTHING running those 2 dungeons, nothing! And the levelers get disdain and outrage. How was that a good idea?

Run for 2 whole days, totally nothing drops at all.

I used DD and AV to finish leveling my NIN. Wasn't too bad on this side. But TamTara.. ughhhhhhh

I hate the people literally spamming this and complaining.

NEWSFLASH: SE wouldn't drop content clearable in a day that is meant to hold you over till the upgrade.
Like seriously me for has already obtained said Zodiac weapon and grind-ed relentlessly for 4 days but that's because I chose too not because I had to. Servers are flooded with Zodiac weapons now and its because instead of being on forums we did our 10-15 runs and just got it over with. Satasha HM took me probably 20+ runs along with Tam HM and yeah I was pissed as hell, but I already seen a PLD with their weapon and Im like well someone else did it so let me grind and not complain.

Yeah I don't really have a problem with it being easy, was a bit surprised but that's it. And I agree with you, it was a good idea to make this part this easy. My point was aimed more at the ridiculous idea that this part is hard.

Well for me I find this part of the Quest (DFs) is easy. I get my Sol tomes and gear drops (to turn in for Seals. I'll need to do this quest 3 times..thats a lot of seals).
The drop rate "For me " hasnt been so bad, at least you may help someone clear a DF for the first time and make some new friends. For me this beat the Lonely light farming of the last step. The drop rate could be better but then it would just be like Atma now ...A joke.

RNG is annoying for sure but it is what it is. People in my shell finished i125 in under 50 runs. I was well over 200 runs. 1/26 Sastasha was my final drop @ ~20 per clear that is a ton of time spent in a dungeon.

I don't know why I run hundreds of dungeons as WAR while not my WAR needs to upgrade relic.

It is the worst design of relic. It ruins the identity of relic.
Previously relic means the owner at least has play his job long enough.
But now I don't need to play the job to upgrade that relic...^^;

I lost my sanity queuing as Scholar for everything up until this point. I am so glad that I can finally play other jobs to finish this.

You play a MMO ... it happens in a MMO ... you GRIND in a MMO but anywho just thought I'd bring that up ~

If it wasn't like this dps queues for these dungeons would be like low level dps queues the first week of nin release.

this stage of the quest is not bad at all; it still is a bit of a grind, but nothing compared to Nexus lights or atmas.

Just be patient. I had to run something like 20+ times Quarn to get it, and got it last night finally... I have very little time to play but still I am 2 drops (AND 1600 SOLDIERY!!!) away from the end...

You couldn't complain about Zodiac drop rates on the forums if you did.

I'm sorry to hear your experience has been so poor, but quitting isnt the answer.

Try asking your FC for help, or maybe your Static? Linkshells?

Complaining will get you no where. but diligence, perseverance and never quitting will get you your relic.

Seriously, this is by far the easiest stage. The hardest part is the soldiery grind and that isnt even that bad. So Stop whining, go get your dungeons done, and take some pride in working for something.

Think of it this way (silver lining and all that jazz)... At least you saved on MB prices for crafted items by being bottle-necked by dungeon Atma. Those prices have absolutely plummeted. I kinda wish I hadn't completed everything else so early. Would have saved millions in Gil.

I've managed to save over half the soldiery AND GC seals needed already. Yet, I'm still only on my second dungeon drop. Take pride in what? RNG luck?

i managed to clear relic i125 in 3 days. now i've got to wait 3 months for the next one. This part is so much faster and easier than novus or animus or nexus.

Can anyone comfirm this? I would like to do DD on my BLM which I'm leveling. Was curious if it would drop on a no 50 job.

There's no question that mandatory RNG drops to progress a quest sucks. I can't defend a system that allows you to do the same dungeon 20 times in a row without letting you make any progress (if you are unlucky). I think all you can do it just take a break when it gets frustrating and come back feeling more refreshed next time.

This is what I think everytime I see someone with a MH better than mine, 2.4 didn't really nerf any further steps to Relic, which, seems to be the biggest joke in the game because no matter how good a player your are or the more you face this content than others RANDOM always wins out and there is just no recourse the unluckier you stay, of course people on higher relic tiers are going to be short on patience after being dicked around by shoddy game feature design.

I think like that: Relic weapon is a alternative for people who can't gather 8 people to train together and clear coils, i live in Malboro (Small server) and all statics are full already. So Relic is a way to get a high lv weapon whitouth waiting for weeks (or months) to a luck drop at the hardest Raid of all, Final Coil turn 4. And having a powerfull weapon after beating Final Coil? What's the point? U already have beaten the hardest chalenge of the game. Right now i'm using my Relic Kaiser Knuckles to skip the second phantom of Meracidia with a good PF group who whish the clear just like i do.
And to people who says isn't worthy grinding for Relic i tell u it is. I had to go 22 times to Stone Vigil Hard, 8 times to Aurum, 9 times to DD, 21 times to Halatali hard, spended a lot of gil, GC seals and soldiery and i'm not complaining and u know why? Because unlucky people only has 1 shot for week to get their weapons on FCOB and maybe they will take 10 weeks to get it.

I already have a lv 125 one and can raid using that weapon to make things easier and it only took me 10 days (i work all weekdays and only play at night and weekends). If Relic was easy to get every player of Eorzea would have their relics already, they must be a chalenge and so they are. I earned my Atma weapon when atmas was only 2% rate drop this grinding is way easier than that.
