The Golden Saucer looks awesome, I know many of you are just as excited for it as I am. While it looks amazing all around, I think the music and atmosphere are key. With this in mind, I'd like to request the developers lock all job abilities once you enter the Golden Saucer. I also think it would be worthwhile to prevent job switches. I'm sure some of you are asking, why? The last thing I want is to have my fun interrupted by someone spamming holy, tons of people casting shadowflare, or putting down other abilities all over the place. It's also just as annoying when a bunch of people spam change gearsets. I don't see any need in switching jobs or using skills inside the Golden Saucer to begin with. I think these distractions take away from the experience of it. Please consider doing this, thanks.

Personally while locking abilities would be done, changing jobs is likely not going to be blocked since it's such an integral function and tied to equipment changing. The only places that currently block it are instances. -

I see the reasoning for your suggestion, I would instead suggest that there be a toggle option to remove these visual/audio effects when in a sanctuary, as the Gold Saucer would no doubt be. Locking jobs wouldn't do much good as people could very easily enter Gold Saucer as a job that spams abilities.

I don't have any qualms about this, I only wonder if locking abilities and gear sets will hinder their plans in any way.
I know (in the past) they flirted with the idea of an arena type mini-game like the one in the battle section of FFVII. They can probably do it if they are in complete different sections that are separated by zones, but then you'll have the people who complain that you have to switch zones to join the battle arena section -_-
Just FYI, they confirmed nothing about this battle arena, only mentioned it awhile back that it could be a possibility. I would love a battle arena in the Gold Saucer :D -

They have skills disabled for inn rooms where you're the only person in there, don't see why they can't do this for golden saucer, considering those skills would have no use in there, and may actually be a distraction for anyone trying to play that hasn't turned off their effects.Quote:

Locking job changing isn't going to happen. Disabling skills would be nice though. Bloody WHMs... :P
