Been watching Mr Happy video and I have a question since I'm tanking usually.
When you get to the Golem Phase I know you should kill in this order
Green
Blue
Red
But do the Golems have to eat the meteors or do we avoid this?
Since Mr Happy doesn't really explain if they have to or do we have to avoid them from eating them?
Also any other tips will be great
Thinking about solo tanking because it doesn't look like you need 2 tanks so far
Also for feeding if we feed. Do the Golems have to eat a certain meteor.

Kill order depends on group set up, if you don't have a BRD it can be better to kill the Blue then green. The meteorites are supposed to be eaten, if they are not gone when megaflare goes of it's a wipe, if you have meteorites when going from first to second golems you're going to have a hell safely placing those when dropping them. Single tank strat is possible but is a bit harder during golem phase but is definitely possible.

There isn't any particular way to feed the golems, each golem can eat up to 3 meteors, on the 4th one they'll grow bigger and wipe the raid. With the 10% you can feed them Asap without risking any death imo. Also if your DPS is good and you want to take time to feed them you can split your dps after green is down, to be sure every meteors are eaten and there isn't a meteor remaining and the last golem is at 3 stacks. And yes it's better to go solotank, especially with the 10% buff it's really easy now.

There is a priority system that you should try to follow when feeding a particular golem. For instance the green golem does pretty good damage to the tank so you want to avoid feeding too many red meteors (these increase the golems damage) initially unless you know the golem will die very quickly. get the bard to take red, whm to take blue and and tank to take green. Dps green fast enough so the red turns to blue and not green. This blue golem is made more or less harmless by a bards silence. I usually feed this golem 3 meteors. Then just kill off the other 2. getting green dead fast enough is the key.
Also u can pretty much ignore what colour meteors u feed the golems, no need to over complicate it. Maybe it was an issue at one time (?) but it's too overgeared + echo to even care now
and yes off tank is useless, more or less a dps with more def and less damage. Uesless. -

Honestly for t9, written guides > the video guides. just watch a clear video for reference. Also there are tons of ways to do this fight, and there is no right one, be open to multiple strategies. And for your question generally IF you can, you can feed your green 1-2 meteors usually, but dps should be the priority for that first golem

Green golem has to die first, don't feed it any meteors unless there are ones nearby. The reason being is that if you move green too much melee dps won't be able to hit it as much, and you might accidentally cleave someone by moving or losing aggro.
This is what I recommend you do as it's what I do every time I try to learn a new encounter.
Look up MTQ's video guide, and then look up a POV video on the class that you intend to play. Since you're a tank just type into youtube, "T9 Tank POV" and you'll get a lot of results. -

All meteors must be fed before either the next set of meteors drop (first golems) or Megaflare (second set). How theyre fed will depend on how they fall and which golem is where. No more than 3 meteors can be fed to 1 golem
As for kill order...it really depends on party composition. Note: if solo tanking, you MUST have a silencer (MNK, BRD or NIN) in the party for Earthshock; a silencer is not required for two tanking
If there are two tanks, one tank grabs green, the other red, and you kill the blue golem (which is on DPS) first. The red and green will switch; you kill green next and finally red
One tank; Tank grabs green, silencer grabs red, healer (WHM) grabs blue. Green is killed first, then blue, red is last.
If you are solo tanking and have no silencer, you better have the DPS to kill the blue before it Earthshocks since you still have to kill green first
Now, as for how many meteors to feed the green golem...it really depends on how experienced your tank is and how much your WHM is watching them. I will normally just bum-rush any nearby meteors, red or yellow, and feed it fast, since I know the fight really well and know Im just not going to die to the golem (unless my heal is AFKing and I fed 3 red...then theres a chance of me dying)
Personally, I feel its more important to watch how many yellow are fed to the golem that turns red after the switch (which should be the blue when solo-tanking, or green when dual-tanking) 1 yellow can make Earthen Heart hard to dodge for some, 2 really hard, and 3 almost impossible. Care should also be taken when feeding yellow to the eventual blue golem, but the silencer should know when Earthshock is coming and should be ready regardless. -

By right you should feed all first set of meteors. But if you failed to, it is not the end of the world. Drop the 2nd set of meteor accordingly and don't drop too close to the one from first set and you still can carry on.

Farm groups have no trouble killing Nael immediately after the second set of dive bombs. Never even see the third. -

our group kills golems in green > red(switching to blue shortly after the green is killed) > blue order(but it is switched to red when 2-nd golem is killed).
In a single-tank group, MT grabs green, WHM grabs red and SCH grabs blue. We needed this to have as much dps as possible for green golem back that days without the echo. Yes, with 1 tank group. Yes, we had some issues with dps.
So after 2-nd golem is killed, whm is already free for healing and stoneskinning for heavensfall.
