New with LOTS of questions

Hey guys and I had to play a little just to be able to post which sucked but all is good. Anyways here are my questions:

1. Which NA server has a lower pop with plenty of room for newer players to grow in PvE?

2. What 2 classes are the best to roll a conjuror for healing?

3. How long will the PS3 version be supported for FFXIV?

4. What jobs should I take with conjuror to fully support my plans to heal end game?

1. Any server other than Balmung really (which is the highest population US server). But as I play on Balmung I'm not sure - someone else might have a better idea of the situation on other servers than I do I'm sorry.
2. CNJ itself! :p I presume though you're meaning White Mage (WHM) which is the Job that 'upgrades' from CNJ, which requires Arcanist (ACN) to be levelled to at least level 15 to unlock , and can also take abilities from Thaumaturge (THM) - in fact, the later class is highly recommended to level to at least 36 to learn the Swiftcast ability. The usefulness of this ability for healing cannot be underestimated (it's especially useful for raising someone in a hurry during a battle - it removes the charge time of a spell and thus used with Raise it means you can raise someone immediately). So ACN and THM are the two classes recommended to level with CNJ.
3. I recall the development team stating a while ago that they intend to support the PS3 version til at least the new expansion (which is due out sometime around the middle of 2015). But I guess it also depends on how long Sony continues to support the console. I can only assume that when Sony finally drops support for the PS3, then SE will stop supporting the PS3 version of FFXIV as well. In any event, the PS3 version will probably be around for a fair while yet so don't worry. :)
4. The way the Armoury System is set up, you're free to level as much classes as you want (a 'Job' is something of a misnomer as it's just a piece of equipment - a 'soul crystal' - that piggybacks on a base class and acts as a stat booster while also allowing new abilities to be accessed as well as restricting what abilities you can take from other classes to just two classes). ACN and THM are the two classes that WHM can draw abilities from (as stated in the previous question), so they're the two classes worth levelling at least if you plan to become a career WHM. :)

Sounds like the character building system in this game is very in depth and complicated. Hope I don't mess up a build and have to start over. Also when i said class I meant race...it was a a mistake.

You mean THM 26 don't you hehe. But ACN 34 or 36 for eye for an eye ability is a good idea as well. But yeah swiftcast and even surecast are both usable in end game. Even swiftcast a medica II can help and surecasting during a boss ultimate avoids getting interrupted.

Racial bonuses are near non existant. There is no set build. Any stats you can reset with a very cheap(now) GC sold item. But generally each class/job has it's own main stat that you will put points in exclusively. For a healer that is mind to make your heals stronger. The rest of the stats you will generally get by way of gear.

The previous poster pretty much said everything that needs to be said but I'll throw in my things.

1) The server I'm on is Cactuar which are very friendly and helpful. Cactuar can be overcrowded at times and some places can take a while to fully load but usually that's limited to Mor Dhona.

2) The beauty of CNJ/WHM is that it doesn't really need much from other classes but as mentioned, you will love Swiftcast when you need to revive other players.

I'd also like to mention that the early dungeons will be the first real test of your CNJ skills but these dungeons leave a lot of room for error and a quick mention that you are new to healing to the group when you enter will make your experience even better.

The dungeons themselves have a good learning curve so once you have the hang of one dungeon, you can proceed to the next with confidence. Keep in mind that every group is different. Just keep an eye on that MP.

I have healed in MMO's before but nothing like this one. Mostly traditional style MMOs.

If you find yourself looking for people to play with and want to switch servers you are more than welcome to join us on Behemoth. We have a group that enjoys helping new players and I am starting to work on my alts so I can run stuff with you too.

There are two healing jobs at endgame (and actually, everything past level 30). White Mage, as already mentioned, is based off Conjurer, while using other skills from Arcanist and Thaumaturge, while the other one, Scholar, is based off Arcanist while using other skills from Conjurer and Thaumaturge. So either way, you'll want the same three basic classes leveled far enough to get skills from them. And that will also give you a chance to unlock and try out both types of healers and see which you like better.

One main difference between White Mage and Scholar is that White Mage is more reactive, with bigger heals for helping your party recover from damage, while Scholar is more proactive, with more skills for helping your party avoid damage. (In the high level dungeons where you have eight players in a party and two of them are normally healers, it's often preferred to have one healer of each type.) The other big difference is that Scholar is a pet class, with a fairy to control who also aids in healing your party.

There isn't really much in this game's progression that you can mess up. You can level any or all classes and jobs however far you want. Each class/job has a fixed collection of skills that you either get automatically by reaching a given level or receive for completing your class/job quests. You'll get bonus attribute points for each class which you can spend on boosting whichever stats you want (applicable only while playing that class) but even if you decide you didn't allocate them right, you can reset those points and reallocate them to a different stat.

Generally, you're going to want to put your Conjurer points towards Mind (boosts healing) and your Thaumaturge points toward Intelligence (boosts magical damage). Arcanist is a little trickier because the base class is considered a damage dealer, but at level 30 can become either a Summoner (still following that damage dealer pattern) or a Scholar (becoming a healer). Since it sounds like you're interested in the healer side of that, you'll likely want your Arcanist points in Mind eventually, but it's up to you whether to assign them there initially or start off putting some of them into Intelligence and then later after switching to Scholar get that reset item to move those points to Mind.

3. No idea. You should upgrade to PS4 though. The consoles are extremely obsolete hardware even when they're new, and the PS3 came out in 2006.

4. Conjurer only has one job; white mage. The only class with more than one job is arcanist, which can go scholar (healer) or summoner (DPS).

Not even close. It's actually super simple. You basically only get 2 choices and neither one matters. Stat points are dirt cheap to respec and race doesn't matter except at level 1. The stat difference between races is only like 2 or 3 points, which you won't even notice at lv50 when your stats are all in the hundreds.

For me, choice of the race only about your taste, which race you most like. After that make he/her stature base on your imagine of your future character.

Most likely won't upgrade to the PS4 for a while. I am a father and my kids come first money wise, the second factor is my PC can handle the game also and buying a $24 game on PC is A LOT cheaper then buying a ps4 since I already own the PC. The other thing is they have said PS3 support will be at least through the Heavensward expansion which means it won't stop being supported until the expansion after that probably and by that time I might be bored.

Just as a note since you asked which race would be best at healing, while the starting stats are largely negligible, it's worth noting that the highest base Mind (Healing power) score and second base highest Piety (MP Max) score belong to the Moon Miqo'te.
