Not another Cash Shop Thread: Seasonal Gear

This is a simple Complaint meant to be Directed at the Dev team. or who ever it is that keeps adding old seasonal gear to the Cash shop

I have been waiting all year to earn a reindeer suit from the Holiday event...
My character was offline during last years seasonal event and i missed my chance at
getting the Xmas Holiday gear.

I am completely and utterly disappointed in your choice to move it to the cashshop

Thank you for taking away that away from me... I hate you so much right...

But before everyone attacks me for complaining,
yes i will get over it
yes i will fork over the %^&*&^%$#$%^&* money for the damn suit

But understand how sad i am, that they took that hype i had
that desire i had to work my butt off to get that suit...

i cant think of a good way to express how i feel
just imagine you are waiting and waiting for something amazing, and then
the company hands you a shit Popsicle

Or you can just wait for the following year's event?

You would've just been buying it from a vendor for 10 gil or doing a FATE for a drop if they did that crap again. Technically you have to work more for it this year because real money is harder to get than gil or seasonal FATE drops. :)

You know, it's a bit better than "no second chances" like it was for many items in FFXI.

FFXI had seasonal gear sold ingame a year later with new gear and new quests for the current year, so if you wanted the old stuff you could buy it with gil.

it was in the NPC shop last year, not this year

the dash sash was a Special Event, not a holiday event item. Blitz Buffalo and and Blazing Buffalos

Aye. While the dyes and crap are a legit complaint, it's THIS that rustles my jimmies.

just buy the santa suit for 10k gil each piece in the MB.

Is there a difference between the tradeable santa suit and the cash shop santa suit?

Knowing SE I wouldn't be surprised if the cash shop version was made dyeable.

Player requests asked over a year ago ... nothing.

Gil seller spam running rampant.

Bots operating in plain sight.

More and more cash shop crap in a sub game.

Man, this is just depressing.

Why can't they be fucking creative with their cash shop? Is making new glamour so hard to put in to cash shop? Instead of slapping old conent in to cash shop? Gezzz now back to the topic.... No don't buy it.... It's not worth the money

EXACTLY. The OP is the exact reason the cash shop got the reindeer suit in the first place!!!!!!! Do you think they would keep adding items like that if no one bought them?! Don't start a thread complaining about the cash shop when you are one of the people buying ridiculous items from it.

One thing that was kind of annoying in FFXI is the way that holiday activities lingered from year to year, building up until each holiday season was a dizzying clutter of different events. While it could be argued that having more activities to do is a GOOD thing, if you've participated in previous years' events most of the stuff doesn't matter to you, and if you're a newer player the amount of stuff to do can be confusing and overwhelming.

Take a look at this Starlight Festival guide from 2013. Can you guess which items on this page are newly added last year? Trick question! They're all old items! At least I think... I get lost trying to figure out which furnishings I have or don't have, what items are consumables, and so on - I might have missed some new holiday cake furnishing or whatever.

Putting old items in the cash shop keeps things tidy. One new quest event per year with item rewards, and previous years' rewards available in the cash shop for folks that are actually interested in stocking up on the old holiday items. Admittedly, this tidiness doesn't HAVE to be handled via cash shop. An in-game holiday vendor works fine, as well. As long as they don't fall into the trap of holiday event overload, though, either way is fine with me.

this is not 2nd chance, this is the 3rd chance. The first time was in 1.0, 2nd chance was last Christmas event, now is the 3rd chance.
