Furnace Ring; new i70 crafting rings? If so, how do we get Aged Eye of Fire?
New weapons are for are job specific and not class specific, potentially crafted? :)
Magicked Prism (Wings); new crafted glamor item?
Brass Kettle; YAY finally!!! =D

What are these "Perfect <x>" items? One-off crafting buffs?
Hoping we do have a replacement for the tired aetheryte ring.
Ah hadn't even considered Zodiac. Would be nice for crafting to be involved (spoken as a crafter, looking still to recoup investment in all the 2.4 gear and recipes lol).
So lame that they reduced the artisan requirements so drastically but didn't lower the relish cost.
Yeah I hear you. Less than specs from alc/culn.
Making 50 items for artisan tools was a pain. Since 2.4, I lost the motivation to do it for my remaining classes because it was possible to skip to Supra and all the time getting artisan would be a waste. I welcome the change. It shouldn't take that much grinding for second best.
I also welcome the demimaterias nerf. It was too ridiculous to get those in the first place, and they've stayed at around 1 million a pop on my server since the day the patch came out. I have stayed out of 4-star because it was too much gil/grinding for too little benefit.
Sealants have come down in price and will continue to in the long run. It takes weeks from "oh crap, I have to do these stupid ixali quests to get anywhere" to actually getting sealants. Supply will continue to increase. Eventually, demand will taper as the more dedicated/wealthier crafters get geared up, and prices will fall to the point where items made with sealants find demand from a broader base. Other mats purchasable with oaknots will also get dragged down once the value of sealant approaches the value of other mats that can be purchased with an equivalent amount of oaknots. It may take another month or two to reach that point, though.
The new mastercraft farm will be Artisan Needles. GSM still is the king of desynthesis. That is all folks.
Blacksmith is the winner. Spruce Plywood is the more material and time effective token. I don't think this patch will have much influence on master demimateria, all it does is bring the other tokens down to a level close to tomato relish-standard.
I hope that I'm wrong.
Dream shattered :(
You're wrong because the artisan main hands have a much smaller loot pool than artisan spectacles; further more they yield 1-3 master craft demi materia. What i am predicting is a surplus of master craft demi's and a shortage of sealant.
We think alike, easy hq synth, no need to level another desynth coupled with a great trade rate. In hindsight i should sold off every mastercraft i made and waited for this price drop but at least i'm 4 star in some crafts. YAY for vanity!!!
Oh boohoo, it's hard? Is Novus or Nexus easy? We all did the grind and so should you. If you can't handle it, then crafting isn't for you. I would have understood changing it to 25 from 50 but not less than 10.
We already have a surplus of crafters with a deficit of raw materials, especially the lower grade materials that no one wants to go gather. Along with usually a lack of philo mats. Bringing up more 3 star crafters that didn't earn it only makes the fight for mats worse.
There is next to no motivation for miners and botanists in the game now because everything is becoming desynth related. So unless that issue was addressed, getting 3 star should not have been made a 30minute craft.
You are wrong.
Trust me, you're going to see a huge supply of Mastercraft Demimateria flood the Market Board after this patch hits. Why? Each of the Artisan Tools can be desynth'd into up to 3 Mastercraft Demimateria AT A TIME! This is huge compared to the Artisan Spectacle's paltry ONE per desynth. Not to leave out this important detail: The Artisan Needle only requires a laughable 8 Silver Brocades to acquire...TWO less than Artisan Spectacles! It doesn't take a mathematician to figure out how much this will affect supply on Mastercraft.
Blacksmith has more methods of obtaining Mastercraft...sure, but that doesn't matter when GSM will still have it easy by desynthing artisan needles.
Basically the same amount of work as Spicy Tomato Relish was. Really nothing changes except the acquisition amounts per attempt will be a lot higher for GSM desynth now. 8 Silver Brocades per tool is a huge buff. Honestly, HQing twinthread can be done quite easily without relying on a Hasty Touch or Basic Touch Rotation if you're a 3* and above crafter with Bouillabaisse. Probably doesn't even require food of such quality but I'm not in game currently to check. All I'm saying is this will bloat the economy with Mastercraft so I hope you all have sold off or hurry up and sell them at a high rate of speed before the value plummets.
Oh I am SOOOOOO glad I had the notion to predict the MC market crashing down this coming patch. I dedicated this entire weekend to just crafting all my tomatos into relishes and turning over the MC. Even right before the patch, I shouted selling my MC at just 500k per, when they go for about 700k. I feel "slightly" bad for the guy that bought 15 of them and placing them back up on the MB hoping to make a profit, but that's MMO market for you.
I don't think I will even bother trying to make more MC's for the time being, I'm just going to watch the market and see how it goes on my server, but yes, the weaver tool seems to be the way to go.
On another note, anyone else notice a ring now available for sell by an NPC in Uldal? 10 bucks says this can desynth into FC3, giving GSM desynth yet another advantage to being leveled, not that the FC3 market isn't already flooded lol.
No, there is a lot more work for Silver Brocades.
Tomato relish require 1 HQ (can be done without HQ, but more reliable) tomato and ~1 Noble Grapes to be farmed. The rest of the materials (except shards) is vendor. Quicksynth the Dark Vinegar and you are ready to go.
Silver Brocade require 4 Crawler cocoons, 3 Silver ore and 2 Effervescent water. None can be bought by vendor. You will need to craft both the Twinthread (x2) and quicksynth the Silver Ingot. You can macro craft HQ Twins without food, but it will require a lot of time crafting them and they require crystals.
And in comparison:
Spruce Plywood require 3 Spruce Log to be farmed. 4 Aldgoat Horn can be bought by vendor. Macro the Lumber (x1) and quicksynth the Glue (x2). Require half the amount of Crystals and less shards as well.
Fortunately Silver ingots go for next to nothing on the MB currently. If you want to be even lazier Weaver desynth can get heaps of twinthread just by desynthing bridesmaid tights and dresses.
While true that the Brocade do require more materials, using HQ tomatos is very costly, at least on my server, I use HQ Dark Vinegar and normal Tomatos. There are two big main differences here, firstly the base mats don't need to be HQ, so that saves greatly on cost if you are using HQ tomatos. Secondly, Artisan tools have a smaller loot table AND can give 1 to 3 Mastercrafts, this highly outweighs going the specs route. You also have to consider the time factor, which is really the huge barrier to MC, the amount of time needed to craft the turn-ins. The amount of time placed in making Brocade for up to triple the production of MC far exceeds that of using the relish route. The extras crystals needed to main twinthread plains in comparison to what you get. If anything, expect Crawler Cocoon's to skyrocket in prices shortly.
I just crafted 24x silver brocade HQ starting from all NQ mats, i spent like 30 mins and i got 3x mastercraft.
Can get twin from weaver desynthesis of bridesmaid pants/dress
So, anyone remember the part where in the Live Letter Yoshi said that they'd be reducing the cost of Sealant, while keeping the cost of Spring Water the same since it "made a food with a unique effect"?
Spring Water is now 4 oaknots. Sealant is still 8 oaknots... oversight? Or does one hand not know what the other hand's doing?
they never wrote that, they wrote that they'll decrease the water price and sealant price is fine
That is not what they said. It's clearly stated here:
Quote:
A18: We are currently looking into the prices of these items daily on each World and we are at a stage where we can say that we will be making adjustments. However, as for “Xelphatol spring water,” we do believe the current cost is too high, so we will be making it easier to obtain. On the other hand, we will be monitoring the cost of “Ehcatl sealant” a little bit more before we decide on making adjustments.
For the record, I grinded out three artisan tools the hard way. The other five classes offered little or nothing that I wanted to craft at the 3-star level, so making those tools was more for completion than utility. With an i55 main hand, it would probably take 3-4 hours per tool, x5 would be 15-20 hours, which would all be wasted time in the not-so-long run because it was possible to skip to Supra.
I only have so many hours to play this game. I have a full time job and a life outside this game. That 15-20 hours would have been a good week of game time for me. I simply don't have enough time to hop on every hamster wheel SE puts down. I am pragmatic about how I spend my time: if it is not fun and the rewards not worth enough, I don't do it. I didn't do Nexus or Novus. Why bother when an i110 UAT weapon gets the job done and takes a tiny fraction of the time and resources to acquire?
If you have the time to keep up with the latest grind, good for you. You will always be one step ahead of people like me. No need to be condescending.
As for the low number they changed it to, yes it feels low as a requirement to earn 3-star. It doesn't feel so low as a requirement to make a bunch of them to desynth for MCDs for Supra.
If you are disappointed that newer players will not have to grind as hard for outdated gear as you did back when it was BiS, prepare to be disappointed at regular intervals because this is how MMORPGs work.
The mods they made in this patch are actually later than I expected. They commonly lower the "barrier of entry" on content. Look at hunts and updates to ST. It pretty much gifted every player i110 gear and an i110 weapon only a few months after the big patch 2.2 that introduced i110 content.
That same patch is what brought us artisan tools. I'm surprised they waited 7 months to lower the requirements. And the master materia from specs was always unbalanced. It still is. At least it floods the market with cheaper/faster master materia now.
