Find me in game.
Just so that you guys are aware, this Demetri Delethorn person has been going around scamming people by asking in shout chat if anyone with some "christmas spirit" could help him out by giving him a relic precursor (he claims not to have enough gil to buy one for himself) so that he can then turn around and sell it on the market board. This has happened to me and other people as well. He has already been reported to a gm by multiple people, but I came here to let you guys know that you should be VERY careful when it comes to trusting this person.
Well that is depressing... I remember in FFXI, how the Japanese players used to shame individuals for this by making exact replicas of the user's avatar and placing them around Jeuno so everyone knew what they looked like. Fun times.
I think there's a bit of confusion here that needs cleared up prior to a witch-hunt. I asked ONCE in Mor Dhona if anyone could help me out. Two people responded and yes, I got two staves, materia and all. I was extremely grateful to both parties for taking their time to help me, because yeah: I'm pretty broke in-game and it sucks. I wound up with an unmelded (is that what you call them without materia?) staff as well, which I opted to have melded (?) by a friend because they're into that sort of crafting thing. So yeah, I had two spares. To say that I've gone around scamming people (which would imply that I have essentially robbed people in that I took their items without giving them some sort of money/item in return via a trick, even though it was pretty clear these were acts of kindness and mercy) is extremely misleading.

I appreciated the time you took to make me a staff, Mikh'a, and I'm not going to sit here and say that I'm happy with how it all turned out (I didn't expect anyone to put forth kindness, much less more than one person), but I can't sit by and have you label me as some pathological scam artist. I haven't the brains nor the mindset for such an operation. Even so, I'm not so stupid as to risk my account for, what, a hundred thousand gil? I play the game every day, love it, and (perhaps laughably, depending on the person you ask) have put quite a bit of money into it (bought a platinum wedding package just yesterday, dig the dress!).
I don't go around breaking rules, but I'm happy to know that I may wind up banned for a massive misunderstanding. If I somehow am able to stick around, I'll be sure not to seek out help beyond closer friends.
Your achievements state that you completed your relic quest on the 30th of November. Why then, were you asking for relic precursors on the evening of the 9th of December? Nice try though ;)

Maybe I have an alt? Maybe a friend? Regardless, there's no legally binding contract that states I have to do anything specific with that staff.
Convincing a personal army to report me based on one side of a biased story is horrific at best, especially when scamming wasn't involved. Nobody scammed anyone out of anything.
By the way, I asked for a relic precursor. Notice the singular form, not the plural.

You led me to believe that you wanted the precursor for yourself.
You are correct though, you were under no obligation to actually use staff for your relic, but you did behave dishonestly. And that is not really a trait that I think people care for in a free company leader.
I could very much see how our conversation would lead you to believe that. We certainly agree in that regard. If you think it was ultimately dishonest, that's your call to make and entirely subjective: your decision, one that I'm not going to argue for or against. To put me among scammers, gold sellers, and the like..call me misleading if you must, but man, getting people to bandwagon. I guess the internet is good for that sort of thing
Regardless, I've found some folks to start a free company elsewhere. The server specific forums aren't as...active, I suppose, as I expected them to be.
From reading the comments on this thread, your responses, and trying to weigh on a decision, I think your gaming practices are quite questionable. I get bad vibes from you. I pray that the people who want to join a group with you do something to enlighten you.
You seem to enjoy playing the narcissistic victim, but you need to own up to your decisions, lack of knowledge, and lack of versatility. Making gil is extremely easy in this game. Literally take 15 minutes, or so, out of a gaming session to farm anything and you should carry no less hen 60k on you. I have a strong suspicion this thread is a feign attempt at attention.
I merely came here to see if I have been mentioned in a thread, due to recent in game negativity from other PCs and found this little nugget on the first page. I'd wish you luck and stronger morals but you seem to have questionable ones. Good luck though?
I dont know how one can claim that they are clear from wrong doing. The evidence is overwhelming. It's a shame really... Someone who legitimately needs help will not get it now because of this type of "playing".
Sure, if you consider asking for assistance ONCE and two people providing that help via the quick gift of an inexpensive staff ONCE to be a wrongdoing. And evidence? There's nothing to show; nothing is 'overwhelming'. I asked for a staff for assistance. The reason I needed it seems clear enough, but regardless, if some factor changed after I received the staff to the point where neither I nor my alt nor my friend needed it anymore, then yeah, what I do with the staff is going to change.
That's really all there is to it. Nobody was taken for a ride. Nobody had to help with the staff. Nobody acted against their will. If you wish to continue thinking otherwise, you're more than free to do so. Instead of playing with forum drama, I'm going to get back to playing the game I so thoroughly enjoy and love.
Go forth and be well, Gilgameshians.
