I'd love to see something like dynamis that requires alliances and tactics.

I'd agree with that. Fights right now seem to be big zerg rushes in the end. Some monsters do 'interesting' things right now, that I'd love to see more along the lines of in terms of in-fight variety.
Like the crab, who goes into his shell for a massive defense boost. You have to break his shell with an incap (using Trunksplitter) to deal massive damage. At least, crabs with enough health - like Old Six Arms - live long enough to incap work like that :D
Some idea of what we might see for crafting would be nice. There was a video floating around where the devs were showing crafters making canons and cakes and what have you. (Also, hair cuts)
Weapons that, when acquired, make you feel as though you've accomplished THE most astonishing feat/epic journey that is possible in a game... EVER.
Fancy looking weapons are nice and all, but I'd like to see more in the way of armor. The Job specific gear was an awesome incentive to ranking up, was exclusive to your job... and you have to be high enough level to get it, let along wear it! Plus it was great fun getting together with some friends to do the related quests or key drops.

Simple one man story-questing would be nice. Especially when the difficulty could be fine tuned to perfection because of the level cap.
Stuff like... Dynamis, Besieged!, World world and more world.
Dynamis in these 3 citys would be sexy, specially when we get the 3rd floors in LL and Uldah.
Besieged would be insane, like if we had to fight Garlean Raids in Ala Mhigo every so often!!!
We need more world, like the rest of the Eorzea we cant get to yet, then multiply everything by 5 and add the Moon and under the ocean and the mole world undergroud and the tree top village above the black shroud! and and the mountain caves you get lost in!

I remember seeing an idea for a Doom Train sort of fight.. I think that'd be fun ^^
Also, I want to go OVER to Garlemald and it would be a cool endgame instance to be within the Garlemald city and work your way up the palace, fighting generals and such on the way, eventually making your way up to the Garlean Emperor and fighting him. Would make for an awesome fight, I think!
I would enjoy seeing open world NM fights where multiple parties could engage at once (thinking like dragons, etc) and the loot gets divided by random percentage to the parties based on the percentage of damage they do.
I would like the previously mentioned player/Linkshell Ship (and possibly Airship) as endgame content. Like you have to sail/fly and fight against the Empire fleet before landing on a sky Island with a Raid/Story Mission.

I also like the idea of an air battle. Though, I doubt they'd end up using your LS airship. It would probably be a more generalized airship. However, it would be cool for some awesome LS action.
i'd like to see something like nyzul again.
i like tower crawlers, especially when every floor has different enemies and traps.
Beseiged 2.0 (suggested in another thread before)
Real time defense events where mobs storm into the city engaging all players, destroying parts of the city and injuring/killing NPCs. Battle classes work to exterminate the threat, Crafting and gathering classes work to rebuild the city and heal injured NPCs after the invasion is over.
Large scale Company based NM hunts
Content designed for only the members of a certain Grand Company.
Example: Members of the Twin Adder are given a mission to fell Behemoth who is on his way to Gridania, a prerequisite to Beseiged 2.0. These fights would take place in the open world and be balanced to be extremely difficult for hundreds of players all participating simultaneously. Failure to complete the objective would make the following Beseiged event far more difficult than if players are successful.
Limbus 2.0
Dungeons similar to Limbus from FFXI. I loved the idea of having to choose which chests we wanted to open, whether it be time extension, hp/mp/ability replenishment, loot, etc. Mini bosses on certain floors and alternate paths throughout the dungeon.
Tower climbs
Similar to Nyzul Isle from FFXI. Content gets harder and rewards get better as we progress towards the top. Mini bosses and randomly generated surprise bosses along the way.
Hamlet defenses
An alternative to EXP grind parties but with added "reputation" rewards. Rep points can be exchanged for gear and/or perishable items.
Long term quests
Quests available to all players, but that take a very long time to complete. These should not be implemented until our level cap has reached a decent level (70+). Rewards could be something similar to Relic weapons or they can reward Ultimate Limit Breaks, assuming SE goes with the Limit Break idea.

Legendary Fish
Turn Based Airship Fights(can be personal against enemy or group against enemy or pvp exhibition
off the map travels to end game content
Travel to moon and underground similar to FF4/5

I want to be able to log in at the level cap and wonder which of the multitude of things to do I wanted to try that day. FFXI was great for this; between Dynamis, Limbus, Assault, Salvage, Nyzul Isle, Campaign, and HNMs of various kinds there was always something different to do with groups of different sizes, with different time commitments and different reward systems. I think ideally FFXIV should have dungeons of various sizes (light party, full party, alliance/raid), huge HNMs roaming around, long quest chains and point systems that allow even soloists and casual players to slowly obtain endgame-quality stuff...and for all of these different themes and "flow" options. For instance, just within one part-size dungeon you could have straight fights against enemies, or something like we have in Toto-Rak now (or how Limbus was) where you get to choose your path and rewards.
Basically what we need, above any one thing any group of people think is the "best" type of content, is options.
The only thing I would prefer was kept out of endgame would be storyline. I don't think main story quests should necessarily be easy, but I think the majority of players should be able to witness all the cutscenes in the game with some effort, whether they have a huge raiding LS or not. Some side-stories like the one in FFXI's Dynamis are fine, but the "main" stories should be left for regular play, at lower levels and for smaller groups than raids.
I like Abyssea from FFXI.
A time sink, the rewards are great and the fights are challenging. Granted the time sink part is more than I'd like but all together its a fun concept.
A zone like Grand Pulse in FFXIII. Free with roaming monster who run around and hunt each other. With things flying in the sky and HUGE monsters walking through the zone. Enough of Dodos, Sheeps and Spiders with different names ... Give me a zone that is breath taking without the little crawling Monsters. I want Behemoths, Adamantoises and flying Dragons everywhere.

I know its not end game but zones that scare the sh1ts out of anyone under rank 40. (Remember first time going through Ifrit's Cauldron?)

As long as there is a balanced level-cap requirement, I don't care. Though, I'm sure you mean the content from Abyssea to be added, which is fine (though I never personally played it), but the stories I've heard of people going from 1-90 in a day or two give me a foul image of what XI must be like now, unfortunately.
Triple Triad.
I would like to see something like Nyzul isle. Party size, 100 randomized floors with puzzles to solve, on a strict timer. Also, you can only get through a few floors per day.
I wish they would convert the far-away map locations into factions you can do dailies or grind mobs and raise reputation for for legitimate armor and weapons. (Also crafting as well for them, or gathering)
I know it's WoWish, but that's one thing I feel they really got right. There was always something to do to personally gain when your friend weren't available.
as with every other aspect of the game: something on par or better than what the competition does.
