Hello, i am relatively new to the game, but not MMOs. I see alot of "bots" in game. Just random people standing still, while not afk for long periods of time, who run to harvesting points and harvest the same x amount of points per whatever the refresh timer is.
Is it perfectly acceptable to run bots in this game? If not, should we report people whom we suspect are botting or how does that work?

Sometimes botanists but more often then not thaumaturges/black mages and all dressed the exact same
Best to report them.
Basically it is a program they use and there is just 1 operator at the other end, they can even generate or spawn enemies -

12-02-2014, 03:43 AMRenikTake care with your reports, gathering in this game is very repetitive, some ppl just act like botters while gathering, bots usualy gather shards, as lvl50 gatherers in starter gear and without FC and GC, and some move underground someway... you can't see them, but you can see the effect in the gathering points and hear the noise they make.Quote:

I have a very large collection of blacklisted people. All those blacklisted people on my blacklist are names of the RMT spammers who spamed my private message chat in the past.
I even managed max out my blacklist list! (200 names)
I contacted SE through the Support desk and reported every single name on my blacklist. I even organized those names in Alphabetical order for them to make it easier for them.
To this very day, all those names in my blacklist are still visible. Meaning, if they got banned by SE, it would shown (deleted) multiple times in my entire blacklist list.
What gives SE? I'm trying to help out but you seem to do nothing about it!
Just food for though, you could tell right off the bat that those names are spammers.
Who in the right mind would name a character "Fdgdf Dfgd" ?
That is obviously a Spammer type of name, no doubt. -

Feel free to report them, but don't expect SE to do anything about it. I've reported bots often enough, they'll still be there days, weeks later.

I don't remember where/when but I know there was a live letter where someone asked about SE taking action against RMT spammers, and the answer was to keep reporting them and include the tell text they sent you so that they can continue to create algorithms to block the tells they send. It's a lot of work, I know, but the more information they get the better.
As for bots, I believe they request we send in character names with times and zones they were seen in. -

The "accounts" may be banned, but the "players" always always always come back with different accounts & the same RMT tells.
The gathering bots are still gathering... those 4 clone mage teams are still queuing... & the 4 mage/choco team is still macro/bot spiritbonding at the Mor Dhona plasmoids. -
