I don't want this map

Why can't I release a map that I don't want? It seems like I should be able to. If I want to fish for any lengthy period of time and there's a chance my map allowance will open up during the time I'm fishing, I have to wait to fish until after my map allowance opens up and I can go get the map I want from a mining or botany node. It's silly.

although I agree that it's kinda sucks that fisher just can't choose their catch, even maps, I only farm maps on miner/botanist since I can choose which map I want to get. ^^;

Only gotten this mistake once, when I inadvertently gotten map while doing Ixali dailies. lol

Your solution, of course, is to fish in the north shards until a peiste map procs, then fish anywhere for the next 18 hours with no consequences.

North Shards is always peiste.

Unfortunately in my case, I only keep 2 peisteskin maps on both retainers of mine. Mostly I farmed either toadskin or boarskin maps though.

Maybe there's more helpful info for other specific maps?

If you don't want to fish up a specific map, keep that kind in your inventory. Even if you catch one, it will get tossed back and not count toward your 18 hour allowance.

not a really good idea for me since 1 space are very important. You have no idea what trouble I get from "just one space". lol

Besides, I always do them right away, with exception of peisteskin maps which I kept on my retainers till there's a peisteskin party going on.

The solution i have found is to carry one of each type of map in your inventory that you dont want to catch :). When fishing, i carry leather and goatskin in my inventory, so if i do fish one up, it automatically gets released and doesnt count as your map for that day. :).

If you want to hold more, put the map on the market, there's no limit to that number. Then price is so that no one would buy it like 250,000 gil. Yeah, it's a crappy work-around, but that's the way you can beat the system.

No limit? Are you sure? Cause in market or not, retainer can only hold one kind of map. Even if you put peisteskin map on market, you can't put another peisteskin on same retainers since market are actually just 20 space extension along with your 175 spaces in retainers.

Mail them to a map buddy. I have friends who mail me maps and I just turn around and return them.

You probably have 2 or two items you could remove from your inventory as well and mail if your inventory is so full.

Before you start the beast tribe fishing leve, just make sure yu have got your map already as that is the only time I fish out junk maps out of toilets.

It's old info and never spoken again, but I always have it on hand because it's fundamental if you're a fisher.

Nice info if you're solely concentrating into fisher.

For me, it's way easier to just farm those on miner/botany since I'm actually have really great need for shard/crystals, which is the time I do that when TH map timer was up. You even see the TH node when it's popped and choose to gather it or not if you don't want that certain type of TH map.
