Nest Commander and emotes

The other day I was killing Nest Commander and decided to do the /laugh and /chuckle emote at him. I noticed an error that occured in both emotes.

"You laugh at nest commander."

Wouldn't Nest Commander have to be capitalized in both emotes since it is the proper name of the monster?

Well, not really...nest commander is a "title" or "classification" only, not a name. Its the very same of having antelope doe normal and Sirocco capitalized.

I could agree with that if Nest Commander was one of 100's of other nest commanders like your antelope doe example but he isn't. There is only one. He is the only one with that name. Wouldn't that make his name a proper name because it is the specific name of one particular antling?

Nest Commander is an NM? It should be capitalized. This is a good catch if this is the case. Normal monsters receive lower-case capping while all unique monsters get capitalized. If it's not unique, then the message should instead read "You laugh at the nest commander".

One way or another, this is wrong.

Mermentia is right. If the capitalization isn't changed they need to throw a the in there. As of right now, they're treating nest commander as a proper noun by not having an article in front of it yet not capitalizing it.

Yeah I was under the impression that all NMs were proper nouns.

And just to add to this. I did the exact same emotes to other notorious monsters, such as Spitifire, and it was capitalized.

Well, i still think its just a title and, being so, it does is correct. If the antling had a name like Nestcommander Gnadgad (lol...just couldn't hold myself...even tho i know LOC doesn't like the likes of this example) it would be correct being capitalized...but just nest commander is a title...who knows due what...maybe we have a nest commander at every nest just like we could have a nest queen...

IMO if you guys want it capitalized you actually should ask it to be named properly ^^: maybe Nestcommander Hastatus X-XIII (argh...for some reason examples from the forbidden ancient lore are slipping through my fingers today ><)

Just because it doesn't seem like it's not a proper noun doesn't mean it can't be.

I see where you're coming from... But as a rule, enemy names are capitalized only when the name is a proper name. In this case, nest commander, despite being the name of an NM, is more of a descriptive designation, just like bloodthirsty wolf or fire elemental. A rarity, I grant you, but when it does occur I think we'll rule in favor of the "descriptive" rule for caps trumping the "notorious" rule.

I just popped him, took a few whacks, poked him, etc., and the "the" is showing up just fine. I'm thinking maybe Egwene misreported the bug? You know my mantra, screenshot or it didn't happen. And yes, I realize I'm not posting one either, but burden of proof is on the bug reporter. :p
