Active Job-Specfic Emotes

I'd like to start off by saying that I'm a big fan of the job specific emotes that were introduced awhile ago that activate when you're idle with your weapon out.

I'm hoping to see that go a step further by having emotes that are job specific but include some sort of continual motion.

ie. If you're a Bard, you can pull out your harp and play a tune (sound would be awesome, but I assume that would annoy some people).
If you're a Scholar/Summoner, instead of just looking at your Book, you read it and flip pages.
Warriors and Paladins can sharpen their weapon (or whatever it is that you meat head tanks do) :D

I cant see this being a strain from the programming side, I see dozens of people going AFK while letting those dumb dances repeat over and over.

Thoughts? Ideas?

I think they should do that along with giving each job a new jump animation. My black mage should be able to summon up energy to blast fire on the ground when he jumps.

I'm really hoping that all of the jobs get more polished animations in the expansion. Dragoon and monk could really use some attention to their running with weapons out. They opened the gate with Ninja and now I expect more.

I'd be happy if BLM and WHM had diff running animation from each other

I can see stuff like:

MNK: Air punches
SMN/SCH with pet out: Interaction with the pet (I'm gonna cuddle Titan Egi so hard it'll be like I cuddled sandpaper!)
SMN/SCH no pets: Reading books (bonus points if one reads right to left, and the other left to right!)
BRD: Shredding those harp strings like some kind of rocker
WAR: Places axe head on ground and resting their head on the handle like "'sup man?"

And the rest of my imagination just rolls into the absurd after that one (DRG spins lance above head and becomes a helicopter!) so I'll spare the rest. XD

i strongly agree. With ninjas having their own independent running animation, all other classes seem out of date. A dragoon charging into battle holding its spear the way it holds it currently is just rather derpy, and not very intimidating or "epic". same gos with every other class. I'd love to see some updates!

SCH pet out: fairy circles around the SCH

War:sharpen weapon so hard
Pld : pierce sword on ground then rub their shield swith care
Blm : Meditation
Mnk: Shadow Boxing
Drg : do some cool move with spear(like circus show)
Nin : practice mundra with no effect
Brd : adjust string
Smn : egi action (garuda do quick spin with herself,titan smash his chest like king kong,ifrit slash his claws aimlessly)
Sch : fairy flies around player
Whm : on their knee and start praying

PLD: Polishing their shield, making kissy faces at their reflection in it "Who's a pretty paladin? Yes you are, yes YOU are!"

WAR: Pumping even more steroids into themselves with a syringe for yet more HP.

MNK: Mumbling curse words into their chin and cursing the day Ninjas showed up and took their spotlight.

NIN: Forever quoting some lame Naruto line.

LNC: Just sitting somewhere in the corner. Alone. Sighing quietly cause they end up dead each fight.

BRD: Drink some ale then stumble around the streets trying to play a harp and shouting out rude limericks. Pantsless, of course...

BLM: Randomly setting things and people on fire.

SMN: Trying to convince any passerby that their candy-colored Egi is, in fact, a force to be reckoned with and not, well.... a candy-colored Egi *whomp whomp*

WHM: As per usual, ripping the skies apart with their noses raised high still refusing to Holy cause they don't want to break a fingernail. DPSing is for peasants.

SCH: Screaming in horror whenever someone tries to swat their "fly" and generally being dorks.

I think with scholar you should be able to /beckon like with the succubus and it sits on your shoulder.

Paladin: Slashes the air with the sword then raises it to the heavens.
Warrior: Raises the axe in the air with both hands with a primal yell, a la Rock Adams.
White Mage: Meditating while surrounded by a blinding aura.
Black Mage: Chanting spells while wrapped in an umbral aura.
Monk: Shadow boxing.
Dragoon: Piercing the air with several thrusts, finishing with a Wheeling Thrust.
Summoner: All egis and Carbuncle appear and dance around the Summoner.
Scholar: Both fairies leap out and shower the Scholar with stardust.
Ninja: Several images of the Ninja appear and perform various mudras.
Bard: Pulls out the harp and plays several melodies.

With my luck, /dragoon would be the dragoon falling face ground into the ground as if they are dead. Knowing Square Enix, they'd jump on this bandwagon and mock one of my favorite classes even more, lol. :P

@OP - Fantastic idea, I hope this picks up some momentum, and they add more than one Job Emote!

The idea's floating around on this thread are too good to just make one per job!

p.s. As warrior main, I love the idea of getting a sharpening stone and using that on my axe. Either standing or sitting cross legged with the Great Axe across my lap :D

Rather disappointed with the idle /cpose so I'd rather them not butcher the jobs even more.

I'm actually very surprised that with the interaction emotes we have with minions, that there is nothing for our Fairies. I spend too much time trying to get a screenshot where it looks like that I'm interacting with Eos.

Something like this, but something thats also continuous for when we go AFK for a couple of minutes. I'm a screenshot lover so I this would make for some good captures.

I would love new battle stances, maybe related to persistent combat abilities. For example, WHM's battle stance while engaged could be different when they are on Cleric Stance, same goes for Paladin's Oaths, or Warrior when Defiance is on.

Not only it would make players look different, but it would also help notice if you forgot to switch on/off a combat stance ability.
