Would like some opinions please

Long story short, my brother and myself built an FC and bought a large house which I payed around 37 out of 40 mil. After furnishing and other costs I have about 60 mil in this FC.

After all this I was decidedly burnt out on FFXIV so we took a break with a reliable officer in charge but not posted as lead. (Bet ya can guess where this is goin already.) Came back much later than intended due to work on my part and school on my brothers. The reliable officer apparently jumped ship pretty quick and the FC changed hands a couple times.

To wrap this up, we came back suprised at the state of things but decided to leave it be due to the current lead being someone we have known to be unambitious and unlikely to take drastic actions. Within a couple days they cured me of that delusion and I asked her to please return the FC as it was intended when we left. Went about as well as I expected but I had to try.

So heres a copy of our last discussion and the question, am I being unreasonable asking for my FC and house back?

You left the game for several months and didn't check back what was going on with the person you put in charge. Your own fault really. they could have emailed you etc if something like change of FC leadership was going on.

could have told you that outcome before your break honestly im surprised he/she didnt kick you after 3-4 months.

You left the game for a time, effectively leaving your FC (And don't give me that "logic of a child" excuse). Regardless of whether or not you had placed someone trustworthy in charge over that time, you should have been prepared for what THEY might do (such as leaving the FC or leaving the game as you had.) You should have opened other channels for communication with your FC while you were away. But that is all in the past now, and you are back and want only what is rightfully yours, correct?

Well unfortunately that's not how this game works. An FC is an investment. You made that investment with your brother (40 million or so) and then after enjoying it for a time you left the game. You got bored and left your 40 million gil investment to an officer. That officer is now in charge and can do whatever they want with the FC. They chose to leave, putting someone else in charge. Leadership passed around and when you came back, the FC wasn't in the hands of someone you wanted it to be in. Well in my opinion (which is what you asked for) tough luck. If the new owner doesn't want to hand over leadership to you, that is their decision. It doesn't matter how much gil you put into your house. There is nothing we as a forum, Square Enix as a company or you as a player can do to get that FC back if the new leader doesn't want to return it. You can't wave this thread in their face and say, "These people say you need to give it back right now, and you have to because they are right."

In my opinion (again, what you wanted) you were both acting childish, and you should cut your losses and reform an FC if you want. Or buy a personal house. Those can't be taken from you yet.

That person is a horribly illogical childish selfish asshole, but at this point you're most likely s.o.l. and have to start all over again.

Just because something a person does fits within how the game works doesn't make it right. Unless you just don't care about having any remote sense of integrity and basic consideration for other people, that is.

Oh, I know I have no recourse and by the game rules nothing has been done wrong. And I am moving on, though it bugs me to have my effort claimed by folks who weren't involved in the slightest.

And no I am not looking for something to use as ammo in an argument, when I called that our last discussion I meant it. I was asking more for a take on the moral side of it rather than the clear cut rules as put down by the TOS I understand them pretty well already.

My entire stance was that they could easily return the FC and continue as before we left or make another with their own effort. There where no familiar faces left except the current lead so you can guess how well we where received and I don't blame em, it's the lead that got me riled. My entire claim to the FC is monetary at this point and a sizable one I think. Now by the rules I forfeit claim to it once I bought the house since my brother was the actual lead, but as I said I don't believe it to be that clear cut a moral issue.

To sum up my current stance, I'll never be buying a FC house again even if I own the FC. XD Though I did not know player housing couldn't time out till you mentioned it, I doubt that will be the case for long. I want my moghouse back /sigh Little fuzzy moogle will still be there spinning around till they shut down the FFXI servers.

As to who is saying what, the whited out name means it's my tell, black is for the current FC leads. Yes I might be a bit vindictive... Why do you ask? >_>

Eep, thanks for pointing that out. ^^; Thought I got em all. Though it's not my name, sending and receiving tells are always marked with the other persons name. Plus blotting out my name would be fairly pointless considering it's on my posts. XD

OP, you left the FC for a long time. Once you do that, you relinquish any hold or ownership of your FC, house, or anything associated with it.

Just my opinion, obviously ^^ best of luck in the future.

I spent all my gil countless times over on our fc cuz i like to pimp it up when new stuff comes out, but now almost no one goes in the house except for summoning bell and merchants/ repairs/ fc chest.
I also bought a room and spent 5 mill in decorating it at that time and haven't really used it for anything except afking etc lol....

But all in all if u go MIA for a bit with kinda no 1 u trust in charge of something u worked hard for. You know its not gonna be pretty when u get back unless if ur fc is like 20% active, 80% unsub/ offline for a while.

You left for several months a losed your FC... thats it

Weird they dont kick u after 2-3 months O.o
