Anyone else feel like they are stuck in a horrible elevator of doom?
edit: also map is broken on the quests (or at least the grid one)
Horrible or not I personally like any variety of music when I'm playing =)
I'm also happy they're adding new tracks to the game because it adds so much to the quality overall.
Leave it to you to make something negative out of a fun, light-hearted event Azury...
the forums always feels like an elevator of doom where your stuck with most unpleasant people unfortunately...
im just waiting till it degrades to "the horrible sun in the game is too bright" or "the terrible ground in the game is too hard"
god awful theme
I can't hear it until tonight, which is this theme? An already youtubed track?
Really...?
This music is played at the parade during the Ul'dah opening cutscenes. It's awful.
How many people complaining about the music ever experienced FFXI's summer festival music?
Also, try doing a Dynamis-Tavnazia.. sometimes completely terrible, unfitting music can actually make an event more fun!
I'm actually digging the theme. It's bringing out the festive spirit in almost everyone.
Everyone I know actually digs the music. This event was the funnest event yet!
Most of my LS stayed up way longer than usual just to get all 5 sets. Just finished with solars a few minutes ago. :D
No matter where I am in the game... the festival music is playing...
Is this normal?
I don't see what's so bad about it. I quite like it. Quirky, like the event.
People really will complain about anything. I actually kind of like the track.
I have my sound off.
Should i turn it back on? How does this festival music compare to the christmas music?
really? I quite enjoy the festival theme. It's very light-hearted and makes me happy. I can almost feel the sun.
Please take your negativity elsewhere.
The overall positive attitude of people doing their best to get those Bombards dealt with plus the music and... I'm sure SE boosted the contrast in game, 'cause everything looks much brighter and more vibrant. All these things lead to a really fun event I find. I haven't enjoyed one since the Starlight Celebration, and I only really liked that one 'cause it was the first.
Good job SE :D
Still havent found one single bomb. I want the community to do a shout out on their <pos>. This is getting annoying.
it sounds like im plaing mario cart
Sounds like I'm on a beach in Mexico.
But I'm not in any real danger!
Yay!
I walked all the way to the Ferry Docks from the Silver Bazaar, and it played all the way there, and is still playing as I'm waiting for the boat.
The music is fine, it just seems stuck on my computer :)
It's not stuck, it activates in any area the event is going on in. This means the cities, the section of the zone the hamlets are in and the boat since you can launch fireworks there too.
Think some people are being a bit harsh on somebody who actually does things to help others in this game.
Anyway i like the music however think it is played too much i can understand in the hamlets and even the town but not everywhere else on the map.
Im sure she was only asking for peoples opinions on the music no need to get personal on her ^^
Have to say i enjoyed the event but now have the dilemma f which swimsuit i will actually keep as not enough space for all 5 :D
i like it. it is something you drink margaritas and dance with mithras on the beach to. The problem is it is a little grating to listen to, and doesn't exactly fit the world. but it is what it is [=
The music is awesome, makes me want to drink a mojito and wander around the beach!
-posted without reading Mushy's post, haha my sentiments exactly sir!
When I logged in this morning I thought "oh nice! new music"
Now after i've been idling in town all day watching for party shouts the music is about to drive me insane to where i've turned it off.
I was also less than thrilled when I traveled out to Coerthas (which is one of my favorite tracks in the game) and heard the faire music there too!
Probably not possible for this year, but how about including a on/off command for festival music? Or perhaps only having it active for certain periods of time? (ex during fireworks).
anyone else notice that the theme is the same as the music that played during the parade in the Ul'dah opening.
Liked it at first, but not sure if I can handle it for next 2 and half weeks. >.> FFXI summer festival theme was much calmer.
It's soooo baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaad.
It is especially bad if you actually like that kind of music. It is like a crappy elevator music version of that sort of music. I hope whoever made it didn't pay much for the crappy synthesizer they made it on because the horns are so unbelievably crappy.
But really, if I could turn off two tracks forever...
...it would be the markets music and the crafting music. It's especially annoying how when you craft it keeps switching between the city track and the crafting track. In both cases, I'd much rather just have the cities own background music play uninterrupted if I'm going to have the game music turned on. Instead I just have to turn the music off when I'm crafting and going on large shopping trips(which after all can last an hour or so).
The music is terrible. lol
I had hoped for something more like the festival music from XI :x
had also hoped for a more Japanese event. XD
Having fun with it though.. with the music OFF.
A real mariachi band sounds so much better. Like, if people haven't seen the mariachi band playing for the beluga whale clip, they should check that out. The band is average, or at least in that short clip they don't play anything difficult, but their instruments are real of course and it sounds so much better.
But eh I'm used to playing the game without music or with my own music so whatever. There's no accounting for taste after all. It's hardly an issue for the game beyond the initial 'Waaaaaah???' reaction.
If anything though I thought the 'hater thread' would be about the mankinis or whatever they are called. I mean that is just stupefying to me. What kind of man wears a mankini top??? The kind that calls their fellow mankini wearers 'girlfriend' and 'honey' that's who. I mean they managed to find something even less manly than tying a t-shirt knot.
If some guy wants to dress like a woman, I have no problem with them being happy doing that as it is there life, but for the mankini top to be the standard option is mind boggling to me. I mean come on, where are the head dresses with fruit for the mankini top boys?
Seriously, is this one of those unexplainable Japanese things? Do guys who are not transvestites and/or gay guys really wear stuff like that in Japan?
Yeah it's one of the more grinding tracks, but I'm happy they're doing it for the festival.
