You realize this is probably another Denial of Service attack, these trolls hit the WoW servers a few days ago as well. Not much of anything anyone can do but wait it out.

Also, people just assume this is SE's fault. While it very well might be, there has been a large number of DDOS attacks on other games (WoW, Archeage, etc) and it seems likely FFXIV is being targeted as well.

Just remember that it might not be SE's fault before you start throwing temper tantrums.

lol this game has always had issues back to 1.0 with 90k and 2002 errors... because it has issues people say it must be ddos attacks...

these are just server maintenance and downtimes..

Great, after a long frustrating workday I finally get with my PVP LS and join a couple Frontlines matches. The ones we couldn't do the two nights preceding because of the patch and the Sunday server issues. What do we get? More disconnects that essentially meant we wasted time we could have planned doing something else. What didn't we get! How about any kind of information to convey at a high level the nature of the issue, and how it is being addressed, etc. or even an acknowledgement something is amiss or, I don't know, an apology maybe?

Some kind of gesture is needed to show this is being take seriously and that they desire to make things up to impacted players.

More stability won't happen unless they move the servers out of Canada. The route to Canada almost always gets hit by a lot of packet loss.

90K/2002 errors often have nothing to do with the servers, they just indicate loss of connection wherever it does happen. Do your research before complaining like this.

Compared to most MMOs this game has been the most stable for me and most people I know who play, unlike most MMOs hosted in the USA or Korea. You will find far more latency issues on games like World of Warcraft and most of the people I know who complain about latency issues and packet loss are from southwestern US lol.

There is a lot you can do to mitigate a DDOS attack from null routing traffic at your edge switches and routers or enabling delayed binding as some simple examples. There is no excuse for the instability currently plaguing this game.

There were a couple pretty awful sections of time back when I played WoW but in general I ran a very low latency with WoW- of course the servers were fairly close to me compared to SE's opposite side of the continent 'for me' choice.. XD
