Damn that sucks. Cause this weekend there is apparently an all weekend party at maelstrom OP and all adders and flames are invited.
I'll do my best to come and join in on the fun as soon as I can get there.
Have the community reps said anything about this? It's been going on for ages now and it just gets more and more annoying... I'd cross my fingers 2.41 will address it, but I know better than that.
They haven't said a word... apparently there's nothing that game-breaking about PVP where individual conflicts can be won or lost based on who disconnects when. And it screws with your cooldowns... swiftcast to re-summon in battle, aethyrflow, etc.
2.41 did nothing, surprise surprise, and still no dev response.
I could probably tolerate the pathetic way PvP content is handled in this game, if it actually functioned properly.
A disconnect (and bleedin' queue to log back in) every other game... Bloody Hells, fix this shit already SE, it's beyond ridiculous at this point...
They said it was due to ddos attacks http://na.finalfantasyxiv.com/lodest...c98757b05b88f3
This happens to me as well and only during frontlines. It's like 2 or 3 times every match.
Happens to me all the time in frontlines too. Am able to log back in asap though no delay in kicking me off.
It's been better for me the last few nights (I hope I'm not jinxing myself). It's just incredibly frustrating when it does happen on a pet class in particular... have to resummon and potentially blow a swiftcast that's otherwide needed in battle. Also noticed the 90k's happened more often when en route from one spot the another. Because every time i returned would have to dismount, aethyrflow, summon, remount.
The problem is definitely not solved, and based on the observations of people on my LS it's somehow travel related. Two most common places I see it: beginning of match if team A or C headed to a flag, one or two will hit this (usually a healer lol). Or last night when they sent me from Manors to mid to carry the team's LB- hit it when headed up the ramp. I don't think it's related to proximity from party since we get it sometimes at the very beginning when traveling together to same place. And I probably see it more on team B as the more mobile team. I'll see if this is posted under the technical difficulties section... I'm getting it on PS4 but we're seeing it across client types and it has to be some kind of glitch.
Still happening to me. I just 90k'd 5 times within 5 min of joining a match. Still the same places: leaving HQ spawn, on the ramps to a flag, going up the heliodrome.
29:30 disconnect is annoying. especially when I'm on team B.
I think the 90k issue is related to 2 things, your connection to the server and the stability of the instance you're connected to.
I've had 2 especially bad days of 90k disconnects, the first time the lan cable going from my model to my switch had come a little loose and still worked but definitely caused a flakey connection and i stopped getting the 90k's after fixing it. During this time I never got 90k'ed in town, only while in frontlines, so the server hosting the instance I was connected to might have had lower quality infrastructure that wasn't as robust as the servers that host the non-instanced stuff.
The other time I had bad 90ks was when I was having internet issues that were not limited to FFXIV.
My friends who have had the most 90k issues are also the ones with the least-reliable internet. I think the servers they use to host frontlines generally work, but are not as robust as their main servers and they don't deal with bad connections as gracefully as they should.
If you get frequent 90Ks, try only running from flag to flag and not mounting at all. I've heard the d/cs are caused by a movement tracker that was implemented in 2.38 to check for cheaters, and I've heard that it has something to do with your ISP's routing through Level 3, where lost packets just get you d/c'd.
I don't know the exact cause, but I've noticed that for me, I can reduce the chance of my getting 90K by 99% if I just don't use my mount. I used to d/c at least 3-7 times in a row while travelling from flag to flag on my mount. Now, if I just run, it'll MAYBE happen once in a day (+10-15 matches). I don't know if you guys are having the same problems as me but this has pretty much "solved" my 90K problem. It sucks not being able to use your mount but, surprisingly, it's not bad and no one has ever even bothered to question why I never mount up lol.
