should they take shadow flare away from summoner and give it to Dark knight?

First let me say I love shadow flare its my go-to-move, but it really seems out of place to have it on arcanist with dark knight coming. Maybe they should give dark knight a burst version of shadow flare (basically circle of scorn for drk) and give arcanist something else. Personally give arcanist a miasma cloud thats like shadow flare but its debuff is 10% decrease in vulnerability.

I think Shadow Flare is an Arcanist spell due to the fact that any level? spells wouldn't work that great in game.
Despite that, DRK will most likely get the other half of the arcane magic like Dark - Darkra - Darkga as well as Decoy/Reverse/Berserk.
Most likely to have a Syphon spell too. Probably some classic debuff spells like blind/silence/paralyze will be in his skillset unless they have that planned for future ACN spells. Death would be a bit difficult to implement, like Gravity.

I wonder if they will include Vanish too - that will make things interesting

But shadow flare can be really important for Scholar, the slow effect can mitigate a lot of damage on bigger pulls.

You know what else mitigate damage? More dps! :P Also stoneskin and/or Adloquium.

And to take away Shadow Flare also takes a move away from their AOE dps combo...
Why would they bother to replace anything? For that matter, why would they give anything to smn before a level cap increase?

I'm a smn and I think it fits in just fine. Better than tri-disaster (cringe) anyway. They shouldn't take away anything from smn as it's going to make the job even less likable to play. It's already cringe worthy when you see a smn in your party in dungeons.

Keep in mind, even my Coil smn friends don't bother taking their smns into dungeons as other jobs can make the dungeons easier/faster.

DRK should get its own unique abilities.

Yeah, it is a crapshoot when you see a SMN in a DF party. A lot of them are so bad, it's laughable.

We're probably going to see the return of Shadow Seer which dealt damage according to the HP difference between Monster and player.

Shadow Flare is actually a Blue Mage / Necromancer spell. Not once was it ever granted to Dark Knight.

If they never release Blue Mage or Necromancer, I'd be fine with leaving Shadow Flare to the Arcanists.

I want to see some of the old Thaumaturge spells come back; Sacrifcie, Scourge, Dia, etc. would be pretty cool.

Stone was never a WHM spell, Physick didn't exist before this game, and the Necromancer isn't a normal class players play. Seriously, they're allowed to change things around.
