Skill Speed on my PLD

I know you won't agree with me but stacking SS as well as DET on a Paladin is quite something! Of course you need ACC to cap raid instances too. As parry is concern about this topic, having a shield with moderate chance of blocking will cope your lack of parry stacks. That's enough to mitigate damage from enemies. The only priority in your progression is your iLVL and balance of stat stacks. Too much isn't always good ;P

Once you have the right amount of HP and Acc for a fight Det > Crit > Skill Speed > Parry is probably what you will want to prioritise. While Skill Speed is a small increase in dps it would only really be noticeable if you had bard and/or ninja in the party for TP regeneration. I have crafted i90 STR gear and with all the Skill Speed I am running out of TP a minute to a minute and a half into a fight while dps'ing on PLD.

In phase 2 of T11 I run out of TP... Skillspeed no, thanks.

And with more skill speed you would what run out of TP on T11 2 skills earlier? lmao skill speed doesn't make you run out of TP on long fights, long fights make you run out of TP

SS main use for PLD is allowing for quicker Oath swapping. Other than that it's pretty lackluster compared to Det and Crit. So, not a bad thing but not necessarily something you want to stack a lot of.

SS is probably more important for a WAR tank than PLD. 421 is the magic number for WARs as it allows you to get that extra hit off while berserk is active but for PLDs it has a lot less use as far as i can see. As has been mentioned, ACC cap > DET > CRIT > SS > Parry although with the current Meta this may not be entirely 100% correct for endgame

390 is the magic number on WAR, 420 allows more room for error.

SS is nice for the first few rotations for initial hate.

Except your oath's are spells so skill speed doesn't effect them.

The point isn't that skill speed causes you to run out of TP, the point is that if you run out of TP skill speed loses its value because you have to wait for TP ticks and can only execute skills every 3 seconds regardless of your skill speed. In that case it's usually better to stats that make the TP you get more powerful rather than enabling you to spend it faster.

Once you start living TP paycheck to paycheck, SS is more or less useless. DET and CHR are always useful (DET more so, both because DET is especially strong on auto-attack users but because Sword Oath is a whole lot of auto-attacks), long or short fight.
