It's not like 2.2/2.3 were all that long ago. I wouldn't expect to see this any sooner than the expansion.
At the London Fan festival it was mentioned that we'd be seeing a reworking of limit breaks for 3.0, iirc we will see individual limit breaks rather than party limit breaks.
Seems it never happened ....
NIN has pretty much same lb as other mellee
And Blm and summoner still have the same limit breaks

I think I heard either 2.5 or 3.0 for this. Not sure where, though, so please don't quote me on that.
Ugh the pain of loading into the expert roulette and seeing two bards.
I think people were misinterpreting the message. LBs will be adjusted visually to represent each class better, but the overall effects will be exactly the same. DRG and MNK will have 2 different looking LBs (for each level of course), but will both do the same amount of single target damage. WHM/SCH and BRD will have 2 different looking LBs, but will continue to heal and/or rez. Etc.
I'm relatively certain I read not only the visual changes, but that they were considering rehauling the system entirely and giving players individual limit breaks rather than a shared one. But seeing as what you just typed could easily be "giving players individual limit breaks instead of a shared one" if you consider limit breaks in this context is the animaion... It could have easily been misinterpreted.
But I still believe I heard them mention rehauling limit breaks in one of the fan fest talks..
