Yep Excalibur, the final step of the Curtana upgrade.
OOSUOOBAA in the text, fill the O with japanese syllabes :
E KU SU KA LI BAA Excalibur.
I guess they could not go with MORE SHINE.
Oh!!! please let this be Curtana's next upgrade, meaning all weapons are FINALLY getting an image makeover and no more glows for a while! :D
... Might have to start that Relic chain now...
The hell?! That's no slashing weapon! The gold veins make it nigh useless. Who made this overdecorated nonsense?
Well, tanks are not meant to deal damages anyway. =p
Base Curtana looks better than that thing.
That's really kool.. Damn.
Makes me wonder if Yoichi will make a reappearance and if it will take a harp bow form like Atremis did for XIV.
Can anyone post the picture on here? I'm at work and the site is blocked unfortunately.
Im not a pld main, but that thing looks terrible to me for some reason.
And Sephrioth can destroy the galaxy when fighting you many times over, yet we still live and breathe with a few thousand HP shaved off.
So again, welcome to Final Fantasy, a franchise where showy weapons and flashy spells do more than the practical knife or a sword being more powerful than a gun. Name me one JRPG that has "normal" looking end game weapons and I'll show you a moogle's arse.
Well, it always annoyed me in FFVI that gold armour/weapons were better than mythril armour/weapons :3 But the game said they were, so who cares about how impractical it is? =D
As a side note, it makes me wonder what the other relic weapons would look like in that tier...
And what am I supposed to be seeing in that tiny picture?
Yeah but the same game that also had these weapons... that Ukon XD

Just from Google Translate, it seems no name or origins is given to the sword, just merely asking "Where does this sword come from?" So who knows at this point, but I do hope it's the next tier in upgrades to relics! Actually gets me excited to continue on with my Veil of Wiyu!
Excalibur...this early in the game? lol
Name's gonna worthless in a few months to a year.
Whoa! slow your roll, I wasn't trying to argue with you XD I was showing there was another set of endgame weapons in XI as well, that contrasted the realistic looking ones, with something more "convoluted" in the way of design (for some, dat Ukon.)
EDIT: Just because of my OCD, here is the 2nd set of endgame weapons XI had, some where outlandish in this set, some were more of the "realistic" style.

I want to say PS2 limitations, but lol nah.
Ok some weapons do look bland/normal, but a few still look a bit exotic to me, like that one sword in black and red. And no arse for you because of obvious reasons.
Thank the Gods...
I feel ridiculous running around on Ninja with my two ridiculously bright glow sticks. So stealth.
Gonna laugh if they repeat Atma weapons though; new look and nothing else, same iLv and stats as previous step. Please apply glow for actual upgrade and burn out your retinas.
To my Paladin friends:
Make sure this is the real Excalibur. Don't be like Gilgamesh.

Ye don't slash with the guard end of your blade anyways. If you're looking for that wide of a cutting arc, your swords needs be curved.
Anyways, I like the design. Very Anamo-eque. Want to see the spear. Those who don't like it? Well that's what glamours are for.
I DON'T LIKE IT, OK!?
I don't have to like it, either! I find the gold globs make it sloppy looking for a "weapon".
Now was that so hard to say?
