This probably has been asked many times but I think is a terrible idea to have to split attribute points between these 2 classes. I can understand that the keepers hymn is real cheap (250 seals rather than 10k) but we shouldn't be using this everytine we want to swap classes. This doesn't happen with any other class ( MRD/WAR THM/BLM and so on)
I think is time for these 2 classes to be their own. No more 15/15 or distributing points that are totally worthless for each.

It might be the trade off for leveling two jobs at once. :/ What would they do, separate exp? Or at level up, ask whether you want to level SCH or SMN?

Using the item to switch points is inconvenient, but at the same time you have got an additional job to 50 for "free". This is the price you pay.

Put everything into INT. I've recently put all points into INT and I notice nothing major with my SCH. I still am able to heal just fine. I tried tossing it around and notice very little difference but I don't use any programs to judge what I heal for I just know if I can get through content and do my job right..I'm good. There's nothing to really..fix. It was just how it was meant to be. Maybe they'll change it for expansion who knows..if they do expect to hear how hard getting to 60 is with Summoner when you don't got SCH to piggy back on..but then again can't please everyone..someone somewhere is going to complain.

It's like this because at this point, Arcanist is the only class you can level and get both a DPS and a Healer role in just a single grind. It has already been said that this will go away once more classes branch into other jobs, diminishing the clear advantage Arcansist has at this point over every other class. In the meantime, those who plan on using both Summoner and Scholar should go ahead and use all attribute points on INT. The 30 points you'll loose from Mind is about 100 HP for every Physick and it really doesn't make a difference in any fight at this moment. In fact, many of the healers that push progression on new endgame instances use VIT.

Personally speaking, when it comes to SCH I'm already so frustrated at how weak its heal potential seem to be compared to WHM's that I would be loathe to give up even a mere 100 on Physick :<
But yeah, Keeper's Hymns are dirt cheap now. If you really like playing SMN and SCH a lot, you may wanna keep a stack of them around.
My guess is that you will only have to put up with this until 3.0 comes out, at which point jobs that apparently have no base class will start coming out, meaning the whole extra stat allocation system will probably receive a reworking and I'm betting that will be the point SMN and SCH will have its separate points. -

The reason this is what it is is due to Scholar and Summoner being shared under the Arcanist class. It is the Arcanist class that you're essentially spending skill points on, not either of the jobs.
Though with DRK being a classless job in 3.0, it does make one wonder what the future will hold for the structure of pre-existing jobs like SCH or SMN. Will they get revamped? -

Not even going to get into what a chore it is to try healing an entire group after a big hit just with Succor and Eos's regenga that provides no immediate healing; I think that kinda speaks for itself. -

The problem is SE only made one spec for the Arcanist that the Summoner and Scholar branch from. Arcane users have three separate specializations in MMORPGS Affliction, Summoner and Destruction or in WoW's case Affliction, Demonology and Destruction.
Affliction - Pet Caster and Regenerative Healer which is the Scholar in this game.
Summoner/Demonology- This is the Summoner Pet Caster and Damage Dealer which is what the Summoner is suppose to be in this game.
Destruction/Necromancer- Puppet Master if SE wanted to add it in the game and it has Undead Pets. -

SCH is there to blunt incoming AoE damage, and besides; there are few situations in the game where parties eat unavoidable, large AoE damage back-to-back without the opportunity to heal up.
Don't limit yourself by thinking that SCH is weak. You're just trying to make it fit into a WHM style, and it doesn't. -
