Transparent Cesti/Monk weapon

Don't know if it has been covered by the devs before, but it would be awesome if Monks could get some transparent weapons to make it look like they are fighting with their fists. I mean, we are supposed to be masters of hand to hand combat and all... Maybe give us boxing glove weapon or something, if there HAS to be a weapon. Heck, I'd buy it even if it was a cash shop exclusive cosmetic item.

A glove might happen, invisible weapon might not if they think other classes could start demanding something similar.

With the edition of the Emperor's "blank" though that does this for accessories and such, it does seem possible in the future.

I'd like to see a hand wrap sort of like how the new i110 crafted Monk hands look. As much as I wanna punch with my fists I don't wanna scrape up my skin :p

But there is logic in the monk's having a transparent waepon vs other classes.
Monks are Hand-to-hand combat masters. Having no weapon shown, allowing to see their fists do the work, would stay within logic of the class.
Other classes/jobs, on the the other hand.... an invisible bow/lance/ect would not work... I mean, there's no logic behind a transparent weapon for classes that are built around utilizing weapons.

Remember guys, we already wear gloves. We aren't exactly punching with our "bare hands" since we are wearing gloves.. xD

The only reason I can see this not working is that all the current animations are dependent on using animations that show the monks gripping things, if you remove the weapons they won't be holding a fist, but rather a slightly open hand where the weapon used to be.

This thread has been done to death before but sticking to the topic a more realistic approach to attacking with bare fists is to wrap it in bandages. But this is a fantasy game so I don't expect any realism. If lalas can jump 3 times their height why can't we punch with bare fists?

Indeed, if they do this they will have to edit the animation a bit.
No idea how swapped the animators are at the moment, especially with 3.0 on it's way and probably still in the making. It won't be anytime soon that's for sure.

I think this was asked in the fan festival. And they said why not.

IIRC, Yoshi mentioned looking into a tattoo style glamor option for our fists. That would be pretty awesome too, more tattoo options!

If they had the time to edit the battle stance, run and jump based on a job, closing 2 fists for already existing actions doesn't seem that daunting.

I would like to be able to fight with one sword as well, without having to be penalized for not having a shield. In the gladiator description, it mentions that some fight with sword in hand, and others accompany with a shield. Meaning, shield should be an option.(While it is optional to equip a shield, gladiators/paladins cannot be used to their full potential without a shield.) Granted, it'd be kinda silly since we have skills like shield lob/shield bash, which then logically require a shield.... so a transparent shield would kind of screw up the lore.

New skill: Pimp Hand. Use all shield actions without a shield. Clearly some animations will have to change, but you can Pimp Slap a fool up close. Or Projectile Pimp Slap from across the room!

I jest. More likely you could make an argument for fencing weapons and skills to eschew the shield.

During 1.0, Gladiators threw knifes.
And now Rogues got all the knifes

If Gladiators get throwing knifes back, then Pugilist should also get throwing Chakrams back ^^

I want an Emperor's New Tunic, so i can glamour it over my gathering shirt an be a sexy bare-chested miner/lumberjack.

Even better would allow male lumberjacks to glamour female only clothing.

I also wish we had some weapons that retained the claws, but were part of a glove or something so they didn't look freakishly large and unwieldy. High Allagan Baghnakhs and Hellish Claws are cool but the size is a bit too much!

AND... PLEASE.... Actually make it that we can be REALLY barefoot too, not wearing those ugly base sandals. I'd glamour a karate outfit for my monk!
