Levequest SP post 1.18a

So how much sp do leves give now?

Best leve pre 1.18a for me was the Faction Leve at Bloodshore, Violent Verdue, which gave 9,750sp at 5 stars with GA solo. And the plants would give 225sp per kill with about 8-12 of them to finish the leve giving another 2000-2500sp.

Although the plants were rank 62 a high powered ARC can one shot them or easily kill one before it realizes there's 3 arrows stuck in his head.

But the big question is, do the casual players feel like levequests are rewarding enough to keep them in the game and leveling with the time they have available, or do you feel forced to find your way into a grind party to get the SP you need?

Heya, as a player that just started back up after 1.18 (I played beta+first week, then quit)... I do notice the SP gains in leves.

I'm currently a 28 LNC.
I completed all my lv.30 dailies @2-3*, and after all said n' done, I gained 25k out of the 31k needed to level + about 50k Gil.
Definitely worth it, but I do feel forced to get an SP party for the simple reason that doing all those quests takes FOREVER because there are no quick means of transportation without spending what little anima I have.

Then I realize, most parties really arn't that good, because people are too incompetent and think killing mobs in 30ish seconds for 400SP and losing all TP transitioning to the next mob, is better than killing mobs for 150ishSP in 5 seconds with no TP loss.

The (Nanawa Mines) Eastern Camp is a perfect example of god tier camps. You kill puks in about 5 seconds, and they are so clustered that you never lose TP. I got from level 20-26 in about 3½ hours @35k SP/hr, lowering 1k/hr everytime someone leveled higher.

Or, I can party "@R20-24 Camp Drybone -Amalj'aa Encampment", because my party leader refused to do (Nanawa Mines) due to "Low SP" aka "Big Number Syndrome", and make a measly 12k/hr... you do gain about 400SP per kill, BUT the mobs take so long to kill, and they are so spread out, you lose all TP generation.

TL;DR As a casual in 1.18a, I'm stuck between waiting 36 hours for the next set of quests for good SP and Gil gains, or I have to hope someone competent is making a party when I'm online. (Making parties takes forever on my server... I guess there arn't many High 20's low 30's.)

I can also attest to the SP gains since 1.18. I took a couple of weeks off because RL stuff, but when I came back I was able to lvl my LNC from 25 to 29 in a week just doing sidequests and guildleves.

I'm a student, worker, and a parent. Levequests are totally worth doing. I can span them all in either 45 min to 2hrs depending on how challenging I want to make them. I get about 1/3 of my level at rank 45 per leve day (1.5 days). Grind parties are good too, but they can't be done in 30 minute spurts like levequests can. Being a father of a 3 month old makes it hard to stay playing, and I usually only get 15 minutes at a time while he takes a cat nap. That's just enough time to do a levequest.

As someone with little time to spend on leveling battle classes i must say that at lower ranks (15-25) atleast, levelquests are not worth doing.
The bonus sp is simply to small, and the mobs give less sp then mobs of a lower rank outside of leves.

When partying both those negative aspects are lessened a great deal, but then if you dont have much time partying is usually off the table.
Just grinding mobs is a lot faster with a higher gil income (through loot).

It might be different at higher ranks assuming that the bonus sp/mob sp is a lot higher, but even then its to much running around during leves and in between leve locations to be worth it.

Id like to note that most casual people that believe leves are worth it, either party them or dont compare them to sp gained via grinding.

Did leves at BW and Halatali, looking to test out the new sp. In the golden days of links and fails, we could expect about 60k in 1.5 - 2hrs from 6 leves. Last night I jumped on my 47 thm, got a couple linkies, and ran our leves at both camps. Making sure to use GA on my leves and links, I ended up with 60k in less than 1.5hrs.

Just about the same =) Except now you can get that good sp solo too!

I work 50+ hour weeks and so I can usually get in an hour or two of leves if I decide not to gather or craft. Last night I gained 45k SP off of 8 r40 leves solo and I was incredibly happy about that. Solo sp on leves is at a place where it is very beneficial, and even though they lowered Gil gain, I don't mind.

Just wanted to share my thoughts again after my experience tonight with my two buddies.

I just did my first Leve Sharing experience post-1.18a and it was amazing. My party consisted of myself as LNC, and my friends on Arc and Pug. Levels vary from 31-34

We pretty much steamrolled all the lv. 30 leves @4* getting about 4.5k SP bonus per. After all said and done, we had a gain of 60,000 SP, and just under 100k gil in an hour and a half.
Just to be clear, at our level, that's a FULL level and then some.

Leve sharing is definitely the way to go, especially if you do them with friends.

This isn't really confirmed at all as I don't have enough data to support my theory, but here goes:

Completion SP is a set number based on a few factors, some of which you can't really affect:
1) Stars
2) Speed of completion bonus
3) Guardian's Aspect
--Unlisted data support GA bonus as (endSP x 1.5)
4) Leve rank (Faction leves are exceptionally better)
5) ??? Some unknown modifier.
6) Your class rank imposes some kind of capped value.

The main components are the stars and speed bonus, with the rank-based ceiling.

It's not especially obvious from these numbers, but from a lot of testing R30 leves (that I can't remember exact numbers for) I do know two things to be mostly true:
1) Speed bonus is equal to +1 star in terms of SP gain, even if you're already at 5 stars.
2) Guardian's Aspect multiplies end SP by around 1.5

I don't have the full map, but all leves are in a kind of tiered system, with Speed adding +1 star. R40 leves offer at least 4k with GA, R30 offers at least 3k, R20 5 star ends at 2k, and the trend probably continues. It's a pretty appropriate level curve.

What I can't explain yet is the ceiling value on rank (GLA 46 now so I should be able to see a difference later) and the differing cap between Halitali and Broken Water. A shellmate told me on MRD that he was getting drastically lower numbers in Uldah camps than at Iron Lake. Makes me suspect there's a popularity modifier like Behest is now supposed to have, or a "own guild region" modifier. Food for thought. I plan to test/compare Hali and Iron Lake leves next chance I get.

The other possibility is that not all leves are created equal.

they are only worth doing with ga i think. ive been doing them for the marks and excepting only the highest gil rewarding leves.

I've been thinking the exact same thing. When I do Ul'dah(BW/Hala), I seem to get less SP than when I do them over at Grid (9ives/Tree).

Also, Class Rank does make a huge difference. @R35, When getting carried by a 50 ARC 5* lv.40 leves, I would get 8k SP bonus w/GA. Now @47, I can solo 5* at the same speed, but I'll be lucky to get 5.5k w/ GA.

I, too, definitely notice that doing leves at a slightly lower Star level, but faster completion, grants more SP.

Crafters need a boost.

I do a level 10 levequest on my ~15 job, I get 1000 SP in the end.
I do a level 15 guildleve on my level 14 crafter, I get 200-400 SP.
