Make all mounts into Companions

I'm not asking to summon all of them at once, just one at a time, different skill sets, maybe a little more forgiving than chocobo lvling.

And will we someday be able to have all 3 kinds of chocobo roles with different chocobos? It makes sense for us to have variety considering that we can change our jobs, so should we have all 3 kinds of chocobo available for when the situation calls for it.

As long as I can have Fat Chocobo for a tank, I'm for it.

Probably won't happen if SE wants to keep selling mounts in the cash shop and still maintain 'no pay to win' policy. Or at least the semblance of it.

I don't see why should mounts you buy at cash shop be more powerful than mounts you get in game. It just means they'll have their own skill sets.

It would actually make people want to not just grind mounts in the game more, but perhaps persuade people into buying mounts too.

It's not about having an advantage over others, it's about having more pets available to choose when you quest alone.

Honestly, I would be fine if they shared the same skill sets, but just had different animations for their abilities. I could also understand certain mounts not being allowed, like Behemoth, due to their size. I just have no attachment to my chocobo, but Fat Chocobo or my Bomb throne? Love those mounts.

This is pretty much the only way that cash shop mounts could end up being companions without causing the torches and pitchforks to come out. They could even be named differently as well, just so long as the abilities themselves perfectly mimic the abilities of a common or uncommon companion mount, like the Company Chocobo or, in the case of Sleipnir, the Unicorn from the CNJ questline.

I think it's a fun idea, largely because I really want to make a companion out of my magitek armor.

Why different chocobos for all three job roles? You can get every ability on one chocobo.

as in each mount with their own level and Equipment?

Not gonna happen soon with all the infrastructure ressources that will be needed to store all thoses datas.

Maybe when they will be finished with the housing system, who knows.

Fun fact, that actually isn't true! The lore of the Bomb Palanquin actually states that it is made up of duds. They couldn't self-destruct even if they wanted to.

TBH, as long as it doesnt break the Gold rule of P2W, i dont see why you cant have npc companions like a thancred whistle >.>

If the mounts can become companion like chocobo aka being able to tank, heal or dps, then this will bring the wrath of the anti-p2w club on SE. I think this will only work if they exclude the mounts from cash shop and only make mounts obtainable from the game into companions.

Which is a shame, since I love Sleipnir, its my favourite mount and would make a awsome battle companion, but I can understand why some players would not like this.

Uh, why? How in the world is it P2W if paid for mounts are exactly the same as your free chocobo in terms of skills? If you can get the same skills for free and it's not even hard to get a companion chocobo, I really don't understand why it'd be a problem.

Plus you can't even use any other mounts until you've unlocked your GC chocobo.

I would love this!! The other mounts could be less customizable then the company chocobo as well.

Magitek Mount - Tank
Coeurl - DPS
Bomb Palanquin - Black Mage DPS
Goobbue - Healer

Things like that!

I'd really like to see them do something along these lines.

I would be fine if they all had the same skillsets (maybe just renamed), if we could use something other than our chocobos. I love my Etolie, but it would be fun to have a coeurl or flaming unicorn or such as your companion. Heck, even some of the minions would be fun to have out in battle. Wolf pup, baby behemoth, succubus minion...

No. Keep mounts as mounts - using the Company Chocobo as a companion as it is is already makes me feel like it's animal abuse sending him into battle to fight. Instead, as I've said repeatedly, bring back the Path Companions from version 1.0!

Its role will be dps... not tank. Think about it. The dmg it can throw out if you somehow make it charge into targets.

Every mount would need own battle animations, own skills, many work putting in it

The result could be less new mounts

Please please do this. All the mounts have animations to them already except for maybe 2 (fat chocobo and the kobolds one).

I never liked chocobos, let me use the other mounts we worked so hard for to get.

omg yes please I'd love to have a unicorn haler walk by my side T-T

and PLEASE, extend all existing bardings to all mounts as well! (for magitek, bardings could turn into different themes of paint?)

Unicorn with Shiva barding would be gorgeous.
