27 levels and counting. Still haven't set foot in a dungeon. And this is with the finder running for as long as I'm playing.
FATES and Leves only last for so long until you get absolutely sick of them, or they run out.
*sigh*

Welcome to 2.0 where dungeons were worthless and everybody grinded fates.
The main problem is that you're trying to level Ninja less than a week after the patch hit. At least you have the benefit of having other jobs you can play as. From an "efficiency" standpoint - it makes no sense to level any DD for the next couple weeks. At least you have the luxury to play as another job (whereas a new player may not).
It helps to try and level with friends if you're doing Rogue / Ninja. Right now, honestly, the lower level brackets will take a while because so many people are trying to level that class.
Try doing Guild Hests, Hunt logs and challenge logs as well.
I can't help but feel sorry for people just starting out the game as a melee dps.
low level que is pretty sad that i can get a 5-10 min que at higher level as a BRD =3=
SE should have added DRK first or any other tank. DPS has to come together with a tank and healer. Imagine having SAM (tank), NIN (dps) and XX (healer) at once. Would be amazing.
I'm personally having alot of fun leveling in the NIN train. ^_^ reminds me of beta.
I'm kind of enjoying lvling this way, it's just like it was in 2.0 when I levelled my other jobs. I find dungeons annoying because half the time when doing low level dungeons you get people who don't have a clue on how to play and it takes 10x longer to do a basic dungeon for the same exp as a few fates. I just wish I could get into low level roulette :)
I was able to do just 2 Roulettes for the big Bonus XP as DPS class since new patch! D: <
Wait time 2x over 120mins!!
30-50mins wait time for the roulette with the short Guildquest.
I really dont understand... after not even 24hours the on 1st day with new patch..
I saw a few lv50 Ninjas in my server and inside Sycrust Tower wtf.
Im not even lv35 because I ENJOY gaming, speed leveling up so fast CANT make any fun! <.<
uh... I feel bad for the new players stuck for eternity in Sastasha.
They must think waiting 2hours is the normal wait time for all DPS classes... -.-
New players:
Tired of wasting paid game time by waiting -> They lose interesst playing -> They leave game, good Job SE. <,<
(Already saw some1 on the shout saying like "The wait time for dungeons is ridicules in this P2P game wtf")
1 new DPS class is a really bad move...
I leveled ninja off all fates had steady exp and still was able to move around to different areas, remind me how when 2.0 started and people acting talked unlike dungeons where no on says a thing entire run.
What you're forgetting as part of the equation are the Completionists. The people who level EVERY job regardless of whether its tank, healer, DPS, crafting, gathering, or longshoreman.
By getting the ninja out of the way now, it will encourage the completionists and general curious people to try the new tank and healer come 3.0, leading to this problem simply not existing for 3.0 since the people who wanted to level Ninja will have already done so, evening out the queues.
I've managed to get into about 5-10 dungeons total while leveling Rogue and I'm currently 30. You can get in a dungeon, but just be ready to wati at the very least 50 mins with the longest que (For me anyway) being well over 75 minutes
I had to close to two hours to get into one yesterday...then all the tank wanted to do was talk. Took an hour to get through a lvl 20 dungeon.
This patch made me regret leveling both Paladin and Warrior two months ago.
The thing I hate about it is being the ONLY one in a massive group of people who are actually geared lol considering nin is squishy, it's not fun to jump on a boss late and end up tanking the rest of it because people can't take 5 minutes to get gear their lvl, so they go in with gear 20-30 lvls under them :/
Leveling Rogue isn't so bad. Spam the heck out of Levequests, in the appropriate areas for your level, until you can run Sastasha then, rather than queue and wait forever, make a Party Finder group, /shout, ask people on your friends list, ask your linkshells, or ask your free company mates if they'd like to run with you. If you are only queueing up DF and waiting and waiting and waiting then you're really not making the most effort that you can/could to try and get your Rogue lvl'd as quickly and painlessly as possible. While waiting on queues and/or building a party to run dungeons kill mobs for your hunting log, do FATES, kill trash mobs, if you have a Whm or Sch friend ask if they might be willing to "power level" you while you kill mobs for your hunting log or kill trash mobs that are higher level than what you would actualy be able to solo on your own. For faster leveling you might bring your healer friend along and just kill trash mobs around your level, preferrably 4-8 levels higher than you are and just kill as many as possible as fast as possible.
Basically, if you think outside the box, and make your best effort to level as quickly as possible, leveling any class/job does not have to be a grindfest of sheer boredom that takes forever as long as you apply the right amount of effort to level. If you have the option, get on teamspeak/ventrilo/raidcall or whatever program that your free company or linkshell uses and talk to your linkshell or free company members as you level to make leveling up even less of a chore and even more enjoyable. If you don't have access to teamspeak/ventrilo/or raidcall, set up a raidcall channel and invite whomever you'd like to join you on raidcall so you'll have friends to talk to while you level. Raidcall is 100% free and you can have as many people as you'd like on raidcall with you.
Finally, taking the time to come to the forums and Q.Q about how leveling is taking too long, is boring, queue times are too long, SE should have added both a healer and tank class to make queue times faster, etc. takes away from the time that you could have spent leveling your Rogue/Ninja. In the time it's taken me to post this I could have already gained enough xp to be halfway to getting another level on my Rogue. Anyway, I'm not trying to be negative in anyway whatsoever, I'm simply trying to provide helpful tips to those that may need a little guidance on how to improve the speed at which they level. Keep in mind that the options I mentioned are just scratching the surface of all the available options for leveling. ( ~.ΓΈ)b
TL;DR Screw Duty Finder. Make your own parties, or seek other ways to level, and try to make it as fun as possible so that you don't feel like you're stuck in a grindfest of overwhelming boredom!
Well, stop being so awesome! Lol, seriously though.. people are just leveling up soo quickly with these fate trains they just don't want to stop for anything. Most fate groups I've joined have been pure rogue so the Coeurl King fate in South Shroud was a huge pain with all those squishy rogues trying to tank it. I'm hoping that by the time I get to grinding Coerthas & Svara there will be some tanks mixed in the bunch.
It wouldn't have made much of a difference had they added a tank or healing class either in conjunction with the Rogue/Ninja or not have released Rogue/Ninja in 2.4. The people who are willing to step into dungeons to level up a healer or tank class are few and far between.
Though I have healed Sastasha a handful of times on Conjurer.
I did it. Just unlocked ninja an hour ago. I could have done it a day sooner, but had IRL stuff to take care of.
Guess I'm glad I've delayed leveling tanks for so long.....all I see is rogues as DPS now in low level dungeons. Like, literally. ^^
That said I've also already seen lv50 ninjas like the day before yesterday. In ST of all places, and not even only one. @.@ Some people are just crazy, I tell ya.
:P I feel that the queue would actually still be better. No, not everyone will want to tank BUT those that like to level every job would, but main a tank would have picked to level the tank first.
I main DPS, but you can sure bet I'd have leveled my tank first cause I know the queues are bad.
Had we gotten all three jobs at once I feel that we'd have at least had average queues 15-30min wait for melee instead of 30+
