Garuda required for the main quest line, been waiting in the queue for 3 hours

Seriously SE? This is not making me want to keep playing the game.

Hmmmm, ask FC members to help? Create a Party Finder?

Yah Duty Finder is NOT the only tool in this game. Party Finder and FC/LS mates are your friends.

If the wait times bother you, try making a tank or healer and leveling them up to that point. You'll queue a lot faster with those roles.

most people who have played an MMO today have played World of Warcraft. I have played World of Warcraft, still do, and have since 2008. They expect to be able to do the main story or a series of quests to level up.

It's honestly weird coming into FFXIV and seeing that there is a cap on levequests for combat classes... FATE grinding gets boring. Queues are long for DPS players.

You can say "oh, well go play a tank or something", but I have primarily played a Warrior since 2.0 launched. Both of my tank classes are level 50 and most of my duties were completed on them.

So, it's like, excuse me for wanting to mix it up. Excuse me for not wanting to have to sit in queue for a couple of hours because we have the healers, the damage dealers, and the cupcake holders that don't really contribute anything to a group but are needed due to game design and are really just very awkward in their implementation and unfun to most players to play which takes it's toll queue times.

Seconding the use PF or just shout and ask if anyone is willing to help. We needed a couple of people to get a friend through Cape Westwind the other day and a shout in Mor Dhona took care of it quickly.

Yeah, there are many ways to get through this, for that matter it is only a 4 man, if you can't track down 3 people to help when you really need it, you may not be playing the game correctly, communicate and make friends, help others and they may on turn help you.

I am on Mateus and will be playing later afer work if your on mateus or willing to make a server transfer I personnaly will help you through garuda if you still need it.

this since generally most ppl hang around mordhona a quick shout in mordhona u will find some1 willing to help u pretty quick :3

Should I remind people again this is an MMORPG, MASSIVE MULTIPLAYER ONLINE ROLE PLAYING GAME, not your typical offline game?

I realy hope they change this in 3.0 and avoid putting storyline content behind duty finder gate.

Most FC's will have people who won't mind helping out for 10 minutes to do a storyline trial they don't take long and with a Tank or Healer to party with you'll get pretty much straight in. If you can get 3 people who did it before they'll probably finish the whole fight in about 3-4 minutes. The last post sums up how pointless this thread is. It's an MMO it will require you to play with others to progress. Having you solo to 50 and then make you play with others will not be good there is a progression to it for learning your class and how it fits in with party and raid play.

Unfortunately right now is a bad time to be a DPS levelling up. With the release of Rogue/Ninja everyone and their dog is playing DPS. And probably waiting in queue to get into a dungeon because that's the fastest EXP - which means healers and tanks have a huge queue of other dungeons in low level roulette to slog through before they get to you.

This is a really, really good time to talk to your Free Company, pull some Shouts in Mor Dhona, and/or open a party up in Party Finder. You're going to have trouble queueing for anything as a DPS for a month or two, unfortunately.

Like everyone else is saying... Its not SEs fault that everybody wants to play rogue/ninja and not a tank or healer.
Best thing to do is make a party, with FC or LS members. Or wait for the rogue/ninja phase to be over. Or wait for the que.
Blaming SE because of que times is stupid. If you dont like it, tell them to not make a DPS class so everybody wont be queing as DPS.

helped a newbie with his titan story fight just the other day he whispered me asking if i could help so ported to mor dhona 1 shout n had enough ppl within 2 mins to help him with his quest xD just go to the heavy populated areas n u will find ppl fast who are more then willing to help :3
