Rogue bug? or working as inteded?

just ran tam-tara deepcroft as a rogue and found something disturbing...
i used hid and tried to position myself behind the mobs and they instantly broke stealth and aggroed me, so thinkin it might be like others where they have high stealth detection from the front i stealthed and let the tank pull. this time as soon as the tank got aggro it immediatly broke stealth even though im not near the fight. so my question is does that make both of the stealth abilities useless in dungeons and such? like i know its a one shot deal as you cant use hide again, but 400 potency hit at the start would be nice, or are those 2 abilities only for pvp??

Thats how its always been as far as im aware, until you unlock ninja and the relevant mudra the from stealth skills it will be on a once per fight basis and you would have to be the one engaging first.

thats the problem you cannot get near anything front or back without it auto breaking stealth and i was higher level than the mobs.

Patch notes said certain enemies have special sight that see through hide effects. I assume all dungeons adhere to this rule. Until you get Suiton, no free damage for you.

should be able to hide when you dont have full agro bar would make sense if they are looking at the tank they shouldnt care what your doing

Could be the same enmity thing as Stealth, if you have any enmity (your enmity is shared with party, btw) then you can't activate Stealth and if it's already applied it will be force dropped.

you and many others dont seem to pay attention then. once anyone pulls a boss, everyone is engaged.

Of course you can't stealth past mobs in dungeons. Can you imagine? Just go into every dungeon as 4 rogues/ninjas. Walk past all the mobs and directly to bosses lol.

You can absolutely stealth past trash mobs in a dungeon. Did it 4 rogues earlier today. All stealth, only the person who attacked drew aggro. What you CAN'T do is stealth into a boss fight. As soon as the boss is engaged by anyone, you automatically come out of hiding.

Stealth works just fine against trash in tamtara, but the second your party engages a boss fight stealth is automatically dropped.
Considering the mess a 500/400 potency opening attack can do if the tank hasn't properly gained threat, I'm going to assume this is working as intended and the reason NIN gets the Suiton effect later on.

Uh yes you can, i've been running 4 man rogue PF groups in the past 2 days and when we get lazy of killing mons we would use stealth and walk past the enemies. Pop sprint 1st then use stealth as ur character will then go into speed walk mode.
Ofc their will be specific enemies with true sight but those we will have to find and confirm etc & ofc bosses will see you when ur party engages etc.

Supposedly it doesn't work on enemies that are 10 lvls above you. This only applies as you're leveling to 50 though.

Also, bats...those damn pesky bats...
