SE added an extra stat to all PvP, well what about people that has invested materia in to there PvP gear? If you melded a stat that was previously not on your gear and that stat has been added to the gear it will now show as either capped 0, or a number most likely in the red.. SE why do this?

On the bright side, most of the gear you melded is outdated due to the new patch, so you would have had to get the new i110 gear and re-meld anyway =/

And besides that, you could just buy new gear. They lowered the prices for ilvl 100 gear. But anyway, you are right, that sucks a bit.

What you're doing is complaining about a net gain because it makes you feel like you wasted Gil on materia to pentameld. Try to think about it this way: this change allows you to get even more stats out of the same gear if you re-meld it. -

Sure, they spent the Gil on melding, but they also got to have the corresponding stat increase before it was available to everyone. It's not even the best gear of its type anymore, as the next set up is now just as easily obtainable. Complaining that they wasted Gil on melding the armor before the change is like complaining that all the gear that they melded is a waste when the next tier of gear comes out which they need to meld anew. They got something out of it when it was actually relevant due to the cost they payed. If that wasn't worth it, then maybe they should have held off. After all, it's not like the fact that SE was intending to buff PvP gear was a secret for the past few months.Quote:

Sync is to a lesser-value at worst.
Or let PVP Gear have its MINOR statistical advantage when melded.

Those extra stats are pretty good thing for pve. For example soldiery boots have 25 crit and 18 spell speed for summoner. Then you compare 110 pvp boots have 18 crit and 18 determination. Lot better stats for summoners. Now you can gear your alts gear without farming loads of sands and oils. Accuracy/parry parts need farm in the other way tho.

I didn't specifically test if pvp materia works (ex: +stun resist), but I'm 99.9% certain that doesn't work either.
I haven't tested if i70 PVE equipment with materia works (the theory being that maybe the i70 pvp armor loses the materia when it gets the +10 item levels from morale or it doesn't work because it's pvp armor and frontlines might not count as a "pvp" area for the purpose of materia), but I'm pretty sure that will not work either. If it did casters might have some interesting options with INT/VIT melded i70 rings. If anyone has actually tried this that would be great info.
