Doesn't a lot of it seem... about 150-200% the price it should be? Reasonably.

You shouldn't even be questioning it, of course it's over priced.
There's no logical reason a mount should cost more than a sub to the actual game itself.
I hate how everyone seems to have the mentality "oh other games have the same prices so they must be fine", stop kidding yourself and wake up
What? Besides the mount, everything is reasonable. Especially in comparison to other games that have a cash shop with similar items.
The mount is pretty much the same as every other game I've played that sold a mount. The rest of it however is far far cheaper.
S-E sell me a god dammit katana already, geez, my favorite weapon should already be in game. But yes, items are overpriced, the mount should come with 60 days of subscription attached to it.
I expected Sleipnir to be cheaper, but since it's account-wide it makes sense.
You can't really say that it's "overpriced". It's a luxury vanity item.
Giving a set value to an item like that is impossible, since it cost virtually next to nothing to produce. The only value it will have will be set by it's base price.
It's also what makes said item rare or not.
So, expensive? Sure. Overpriced? Nope.
It's not really reasonable when the pumpkin heads and ghost costumes were available in game. The pumpkin heads were available for gil. That's why I put up a petition for them to be put back in the game. 5$ for something that was once free : /

The minions were cheaper than I thought they would be.
You're paying REAL money... for VIRTUAL items that you cant hold, resell or take with you if you stop playing....
Of course its overpriced.... you're getting nothing real/tangible for something very real/tangible.
Of course, corporations have convinced the current generation of gamers that that's just a-ok..... and will take every penny they can from you.
Wow, so expensive X_X Glad I don't give a flying monkey crap about vanity...
What are you talking about? If it's not "real/tangible" it's worthless?
The pleasure you have from playing with these items is not worth anything just because you can't touch it?
So, in short terms, if I do a piece of artwork on my computer, it's worthless because it's not tangible, right? Same thing as going to the movies. A Movie is not tangible, you can't even taking it at home with you.
... Damn I hate that argument. It's wrong on so many levels.
$24 for the mount is unreasonable. That's three months sub for me.
When I go to the movies, I'm getting a service in the REAL world, not a VIRTUAL thing that has no true value. My monthly sub gives me access to the service of being able to connect to the servers and play the game, again a real world service, with value.
Cash shop items? Emotional value? Sure, I suppose so. Monetary value? Nonewhatsoever.
Cash shop items are simply a way for them to suck more money out of you for the least amount of effort on their part. And it preys on those who are addicted to MMO's and the mentality of "Gotta have em all", which is a large portion of most MMO playerbases.
The real shame is people think its a great thing, but that short lived rush when you buy your new mount wont last, and it'll be replaced by a new shiny thing in short order, and the lure of shelling out more money will be right there again so you arent the only one without it among your friends.
Honestly, if you don't want to buy them don't buy them.
This arguments were made back and forth a hundred time.
I am tired of it and bought the mount just to annoy the haters
Why? Because it's not "tangible"? That's BS.
Plus, the "emotional value" given from these items is directly related to their price. If they were completly free and given to you with absolutly no effort required, you would not have anywhere near the same amount of pleasure for "getting" and "owning" them.
The price is the wall between people who are willing to pay for it, and people who are not.
By paying for these item, you can set yourself appart from the rest of the players. How far you are from the rest if bound to the price of the item itself.
That pleasure is valuable.
Real people have real emotions with these items. It doesn't matter if you think that a virtual world goods are worthless just because they cost next to nothing to produce.
The only proof I need to show you that you're wrong in assuming that emotions doesn't have a monetary value is the fact that the whole entertainment industry exists. And the goods produced by this industry can be virtual or real, it doesn't matter, the emotions are the same.
I love how it's the same 10 people complaining about the cash shop every day. Cash shop isn't going anywhere. If someone wants to pay for something they will. I think the prices are fine, and I'll more than likely buy a mount an a few minions. I can afford it, it's not a big deal to me and the rest of the people who want/can afford vanity items.
You either want the items, or you don't want them.
You either fork over the dough, or you don't.
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
For the mount personally I think it's priced quite resonably.
The mount is priced reasonably, it'd be different if it was a 30-day timed mount. If it was far cheaper, then everyone would have it, what's the uniqueness in that.
I give it less than a year before we see a "CASH SHOP SUPER DISCOUNT WEEKEND -- Everything 75% off this weekend". Let the people who have to have it right now pay the full price, but I'm sure SE will have a discount weekend on everything in the cash shop within the next year (Black Friday and Christmas are coming up. If not then, you can pretty much expect it for the two-year anniversary in August of 2015).
To me the price($24) for the mount is fine after seeing this "This item will be distributed to all characters on the selected account", if you think this is over priced, in another game ive played their are asking like $35-$60 for one mount for one char....im willing to spend $24 for a mount in ff14
You would think, for $25, it would be an additional battle companion. I'm sure loads of people would be much more willing to fork over the extra cash (and retire their chocos) to have Sleipnir battle alongside them.
Missed opportunity, SE. For shame.
It's underpriced compared to other MMOs, actually.
Fixed that for you, since its a REAL world service that hosts a game.
And despite your assumption... I dont pay for my sub... its a gift.
If you want to line SE's pockets this way, then enjoy.
Still a shame people think this is an ok thing though, but SE is laughing all the way to the bank.
They must look up to Blizzard; the prices are pretty competitive.
You're a really bitter person, lol. Also, it's still a fake virtual reality. You're not proving me wrong by stating the server itself is real, because everything in the actual game is fake. The minions and such from the CS are also in the servers btw, just like everything else.
And even if you you aren't paying for it, I don't see you insulting the person paying for you or others that are paying the monthly fee for the game in which nothing is tangible... pretty hypocritical of you.
Oh and while you may not be spending money to play apparently, time has just as much value as money as far as I'm concerned. You only have a limited amount of time in a day and you're obviously spending quite a bit of time leveling all of those intangible level 50 class/jobs. So...
Fixed that for you.
Anyway, you don't seem to understand that the nature of the "service" is irrelevant. The only thing you are paying for, in the end, is a service which provides you emotions. You are buying emotions.
Buying a virtual black horse to be able to ride it and jump around like an idiot in Mor Dhona to show people how awesome you are is a service giving you emotions.
Just like going to the movies. You are not paying just for the sake of sitting in a seat. You are paying to have emotions.
Emotions are valuable and, again, the whole entertainment industry is based on that.
Please explain why RMT thrives to this day if virtual items have no monetary value. Please explain how ppl sell and resell entire accounts if what you're paying for has no monetary value. Everything has monetary value. It may not have any for you, but it doesn't mean that value doesn't exist. Whether its tangible or not makes no difference. People pay for an experience, and if Sleipnir is that experience for them, I don't see the problem. Its pretty difficult to make a sweeping generalization about what is/is not worth $$ spent.
The $5 minions seem very reasonable (I bought two :) ). In any case it's very much in line with what I'm used to paying for costumes, gun skins, etc. in console games.
$24 for the mount seems crazy to me though. That just seems like so much for one piece of cosmetic DLC. I'm told it's in line with prices in other MMOs. And hey, if it's worth the cost to someone else, more power to them. I can't imagine paying it though.
Just wanted to point out that I gave you a little thumbs up for the underlined sentence. While I personally think it's worth the money, I really like that you see it as a subjective opinion and you don't criticize or belittle us for it. c:
*hands you a cookie of appreciation*
24 is reasonable?
What other P2P games has this pricing?
On F2P TERA, for a sure enough piggy mount, it's only 15 bucks.
A cool wolf one is 20.
One of the best mounts free, just by loggin' daily and probably events leads up to a cool black duck mount.
The new Police car is about $15. The rest is costy because is locked to account and not character.
This is a lot people...
