So... I never got that minion from retainers...

Now that patch 2.4 underway and we gonna play it tomorrow, wondering if those pre 2.4 minion could be made available on the latest exploration ventures added in 2.4? Cause it's just really silly to go back doing older exploration just to get them.

And yes, I never absent sending my retainers every day, only to get some hippo skins/ores/coeurl junks/mossy stuff. Very high contrast compared with previous patch where you can get that mindflayer minion quite easily, which I read somewhere that the drop got fixed again so it became even rarer.

Seems like there's no way we can get clear idea of the right requirement to get them or whether it's just painful RNG. :?

Now that 2.4 went live, I'm now facing several horrors that SE threw us:

• Those new exploration ventures now requires quite insane amount of gathering stat for DoLs. I just hope the offhand with melding would suffice for now. But even so, it would be barely enough. And I suspect when 2.5 hits and introduced another exploration rank, you might definitely need to scrap almost all gears for those 2.4 and/or 2.3 accessories.
• Now that botany & fisher got their own minion hunt, it is near impossible to get all of retainer minion, except if you pay for those extra retainer service with real money, or make your old ones ditch their current class and start new one from scratch.
• And to make it even worse, seems like SE still putting those super heavy RNG shit for the drops, at least what I think it is since there's no word of SE easing the RNG that they intentionally makes it harder from previous patches. And with those cash shop that just been recently added, it's highly doubtful f this will ever be eased. SE do need more money.

So... the only left solution are to hope those minion shows up on market with really high price and get really rich just to make someone else instant rich, or... you really have to let it go since it's all just vanities.

The concept of "you can do everything with one character" brought me to the Game and I liked how it was in the beginning (pre 2.3). It was indeed possible to have either well equipped combat classes and DOL/DOH. 100% of the Content and items were accessible. No recipe too hard to make, all minions to obtain via crafting (with human requirements), by running dungeons or doing maps. But with each new patch, they make it more and more impossible to obtain everything with your characters because of the requirements they have set. Something about their philosophy has changed or maybe they do not find another way to keep it "challenging". But for me it isn't challenging but more frustrating because I can't (and don't want) to spend my entire spare time with the Game just to keep able of what I was used to do with way less timely efforts.

If you do not pay for 4 retainers, you will never get all minions. If you do not equip your DOL very well, you can't do the highest ventures. When I compare the retainer DOL to my combat DOL it is a Joke. My tank wears my old BML gear and he can go on every venture he likes because it is just about the Item Level (don't take that as a hint to change it and make it ACC or main stat depending, SE lol). It took zero efforts to get him there. My Fisher in opposite can no longer do the highest venture although he has all the AF in HQ (even overmelded) and at least the ilevel 55 accesoires in HQ and also overmelded. But I would have to give him the Level 70 Fisher tool and probably upgrade at least a part of the accesoires and meld them to gain access to the highest Venture again. And I am surely not again fishing Sovereigns for the Level 70 tool or craft for a week to get 10 FC3's and a Master Demimateria for the 75 tool.

Yeah, when ARR launched, everything felt so easy and very attainable. Then some ppl starts bitching out about it and moaning to have even more harder.

Then SE decide to re-introduced the RNG-hell from 1.0 back to ARR, and multiplies it by each major patches. I still remember I finally got that minion that exclusively dropped from toadskin treasure map after about 7 months without even forgetting a day getting those maps and doing them.

And do you remember Minute Mindflayer minion? Remember how easy and often you get them? Sure enough, some ppl starts complaining of how easy they came to be. Next thing you know, SE "fix" it by the next patch by adding way more impossible RNG and making sure the upcoming minion will share the same fate. Now even the mindflayer minion are pathetically near-impossible to get.

I've been saying this over and over that I never liked gambling games nor do I like poker. But hey... you can't please all ppl. Some will be happy and some with not. And apparently, major consensus likes gambling very much. :p

Got my blue bird (actually 3 ! \o/), got my mini Tomberry (2 of them)... Still trying to get the mini bulb from toad skin (trying to get that for month).
Still trying to get the mining cart from venture too... RNG is a bitch >___<

I received Littlefoot from a lvl 14 botanist 18 hr venture yesterday, he is adorable!

well... guess what? I just got myself that super rare nutkin minion from that unhidden leather map. I almost cried for joy. XD

Now I tempted to sell it for fortune, or just own it. lol

OP are you talking about the Tiny Tapir? XV hunt has a high percentage to get those minions as well as XIV. I sent my hunting retainer out on XV and he got the Tiny Tapir. Try some more with XV exploration perhaps and you might have some luck.

I am still going for the Fat Cat, so far she has brought back Honey Lemons and lots of catfish >.>.

The ilevel 70 weapon makes all the difference. I gave my Fisher the level 70 rod, the ilevel 55 HQ AF gear and HQ accessories (the old stuff not the ilevel 55 1 star ones) with only 1 or 2 melds using grade 1 / 2 materia and i was able to send them to do the XV explorations. The fishing rod is a pain to get, but the second one is ALOT easier to get since you have the upgraded rod. Took me like 30 hours to get the first Rod, (spent a weekend or two getting it) and it only took about 10 hours to get the second one. Just get a controller with vibrate and watch netflix.

Ok, nevermind. I just got my tiny tapir from rank XV venture. Looks like it does works. Just need to wait for my miner ones. :)

Which venture levels are the fat cat and Littlefoot? XIV or XIV?

I think you meant XIV or XV?

But I saw pictures that confirmed Fat Cat comes from XV ventures and there were some people confirming that they also got him in the XIV ventures.

And for the mini mine cart, I can confirm that you can also get it from XV ventures since that was how i got mine.
So i'm Assuming that all of the rarer minions are from both XIV and XV ventures.

Yeah XV was what I meant but didn't type lol. True about the miner cart, got it from both expeditions so I guess I just send them all on XV ventures from now on.
