FFXIV FANART COMMUNITY THREAD(free for all to join)

Well here it is as promised. A place for all you creative artists out there to portray your skills!

- Perhaps you have a drawing, doodle or sketch made in your free time that you'd like to share? Or you're a professional artist that wants to contribute his FF fanart. This will be the place to show it all off!

I only request however that people post actual drawings made in whatever medium they desire or something made by hand(plushies, statues, and so on). So please no photoshop edits of screenshots made for the purpose of those like signatures or wallpapers.

One thread seemed better considering there's a big chance of other threads quickly dissapearing if they don't garner enough attention and it allows for everyone to at least have their drawings seen.

Nuru, I have seen that Lala inked! (from google images, no less) Always awesome finding out who drew the original~
Good thinking with a general art thread to consolidate all the XIV fanart that's floating around the web. =)

I have a few in the moblin factory atm, but here's two wips.

Is that a flying Goblin?

Red Hare of Lindblum... edit: actually I don't know what server I'll be on.

Aw those are very good and cute drawings. Also I loved your small comic lol. It's nice to see things kicking off.

And damn Redhare!!! You're good. I bow down before your skills. The details and the dynamic lines really bring your piece to life. Hopefully I'll reach such a level someday.

Keep those drawings coming people and don't be afraid to comment or use the like button. It will only make the artist want to draw more pieces.

Topheru - An old pic from FFXI of my Taru, Topheru! Seer's Gear is one of my favorite designs ever. The mandragora gear was just done for fun.

Song Sketch - I drew this before FFXIV officially came out so I had no idea how the hairstyles or undergarments would really look like =) I even ended up making her into a Keeper of the Moon.

Hope to see more work from you guys!

I drew this before the game came out, but it ended up looking more like a mithra than a miqo'te. Wrong face shape I guess.

anyone know any good tutorial on how to draw like FFxiv style? i find the lines so simple yet the shadow technique and color palette are interesting. anyone know?

i like the grand company painting with all the chocobos and the new Summer event banner is also nice.

Tutorial? No, but I'd suggest a Google-spree for anything by Akihiko Yoshida, who's the artist you're referring to. (A personal favorite of mine) :)

@ Vergil Renata: I love your usage of colour in your drawing! And the pose and expression matches well with the clothes and character.

@Evil-Siren: Wow...just wow. I'm speechless at these wonderful pieces you created. Lightning, colors, dynamic, lovely scenery. I can only say that I'm hoping to see a lot more from you! Now draw a female elezen and you'll make my day lol.

@Qeius: Your pieces have a lovely vibrant and lively feel to it. They feel alive not to mention CUTE. Just look at that miqo'te and aldgoat I just want to hug them! Ahem... Sorry...

@Obsy: Female Elezen! *jumps of joy*. Lovely piece, nice poses, good anatomy and lovely expressions! Not to mention they look very sexy (especially the female elezen. That's a personal thing btw :p)

Vydos, you might consider linking to everyone's submissions in your initial post. To allow people coming to the thread for the first time easier access to each submission.

Very tempting idea. But if this continues it will become a real hard time to keep track of everything. I will do it for now but I had another suggestion.

How about everyone uploading their drawings to some site. Like most of us are already doing but preferably a site where I can simply post a link to the entire gallery of the user. And I'll just add update dates behind the gallery every time. Makes it nice and compact and that way I avoid reaching a possible post limit. (At least any time soon)

But in the mean time I'll add the pictures to the main post.

You mean like a group photobucket? or a flickr?

Oh no nothing like a group thing. Just that every user has it's own gallery. So that I can go.

User1 : [Gallery link] (updated 08/08/11)
User2 : [Gallery link] (updated 01/08/11)
User3 : [Gallery link]
....
And so on. So each person makes his individual gallery. And every time he or she post something new around here. I can just add an update tag at the first post.

Edit:

I don't mind adding single links for those that only draw a FF piece very occasionally.
