Dark Knight Mount Speculation

Right now each tank gets its own mount. WAR has a bear, and PLD gets a lion. So here's hoping for a tiger.

Cerberus-esque please! Something along the lines of Hellhound.

I'm thinking some kind of an insect. Like a giant beetle.

A paladin. The Dark Knight will have a group of paladins carrying a throne as a mount. As Dark Knight will be the king of tanks :P

I would say the obvious choice would be a Nightmare, but wouldn't you know? They did that already.

Cerberus, or maybe a Fenrisulvr mount? Should probably be a 200 8-players content completed reward, like the Warbear is for War.

I think he should ride a Cactuar.

I was thinking some sort of beefy wardog (much as I love tigers, I feel a different type of animal would be best) but nothing lets people know you're a tough individual like riding a cactus.

But, I would go for an undead equine like the Bog Unicorn from DAIII... or rather, something in the spirit of that.

Well it has to fly, since that's a big expansion thing.

If Lion represents a PLD's courage and nobility, and Bear represents a WAR's wild nature and power, then I would imagine that some sort of Lizard would represent a DRK's cunning and ambiguity.

Tbh I think all jobs should get a job specific mount. I think se should stop being pro tank and give everyone them.

The entire point of the mounts was to get more people to play tanks. It's not intended to be something for all the classes.

Actually if you're British you might be close with a warthog notion. Other wise I'd really like Dark Knights mount to be a bunny rabbit.

Its still a fun idea IMO. Yes I like my Lion and Bear but it would be cool to have a difficult task for each job.

DRG living through any coil turn without dying.
BRD actually singing Foe's.
MNK hit their positionals for a full minute on a dummy.
SMN completing anything without being OOM.
WHM not casting Medica2 with 10 seconds left on the ticker. (they have a JSM but this one would be rare and resist heavy)
SCH using any pet command.
NIN not using Doton on a single target for an entire WoD run.
BLM should naturally come with a mount and if somehow you fuck up the most boring rotation in MMO history they take away the mount.

A beefed up basilisk type creature would be cool. Make it like jet black.

Impossible. The mounts are tied to the PvP animal and bats are for NIN.

In all seriousness, give me Maahes for DK. Although, a lala DK on a bunny would be awesome. Or give me a guy with banging coconuts together following me around at mount speed.

I'm going to lmao when DRKs dont get a unique mount, because "the tank mounts are to encourage extra ppl to play the class and DRK has tons of ppl playing it already anyway."

Really hoping for a black panther for the dark knight mount. Same size as the white lion. Think it would fit with the other mounts for tanks and fit a dark knight .

My first thought would be some sort of Black Direwolf, like Shaggy dog.

After talking to a friend about one of the suggestions here, I'm really leaning towards a dog. Or rather, a hound. I mean... Hound out of Hell and all.

They both use the Coeurl model and we already have a Coeurl mount, so probably not.

Well, we have eight ponies with just a color swap. Two Coeurls don't seem that dramatic x)

DRK should use Diabolos, or a Dira as a mount.

Well let's think this one through. Tank specific mounts and PvP armor sets (the newer ones, i100 & 110) resemble animals. Each job has a PvP set, the set corresponds the the job's "animal" counter part.

So it's definitely going to be an animal, based on inductive reasoning.

Knights have a generic connotation with horses (I mean, look at the Chess piece!), which would mean dark knight job => dark horse mount? As unoriginal as it is, I'm banking on it. What if it's a flying mount to cope with the new expansion? I'm putting my money on a shadowy horse with wings. Given that this is a Final Fantasy game, I have no doubts that will be awesome.

Cliche? Perhaps, but it makes the most sense, and I'm sure it will have a unique Japanese Yoshi-P flair.
