I am sure its already been said in some way or form, but can we please make it so big fishing doesn't feel like we are trying to pick the soap up off the ground with our elbows in prison.
Insane requirements for the fish to appear, great, perfect even. Maybe even a small mini-game type deal, sure. But the feeling of having absolutely no control over the fish getting away, AFTER its bit your line, is kind of ridiculous. Please just make it hard, and not literally a RNG deciding our fate.

I already have all the current big fish in the game, just recently finished. What I am mainly saying though is that I think players in general would feel better if they failed a particularly hard mini-game type thing, or keep an eye out for whatever crazy conditions, even if we could simply see the % chance to reel a big fish in would make it not so soul crushing when it happens.

The new primary is only gained after catching every big fish in the game, so it won't help for completion's sake, but it will help those few master fishermen catch for profit, I suppose.

yeah fishers got another new primary just after they obtained the supra...lol so funny.
I havnt done enough big game fishing until recently when I was catching olgoi for my supra as I wanted to skip foragers and that mass of hq sovereigns.
but yeah a percentage type of thing would be nice atleast because then you would kinda know your odds of rng favouring you just like when you meld stuff, you still have no control but atleast you can gaige whether its currently worth your time to attempt or wait for better gear / stats. -

What people seem to not understand, is that the fish getting away isn't affected by gathering, or it at least doesn't feel like it because the increase is too small.

With these new fish added in 2.4 and their rather annoying conditions, the fact that they STILL seem to have this high rate of "Fish gets away.." only serves to literally piss people off, me included.
Who in their right mind thinks its a good design to gate a fish behind a RNG double mooch wall that you need to succeed 3 times, only to get a 10min buff where you'll now have a chance to catch the fish you are after, only to manage to get it to bite once (if at all) and see it get away because HAHA RNG. Then you have to repeat the whole process all over again and the double mooch criteria alone is easily an hour minimum of waiting time to get through.
This is just silly and should be fixed in some way. -

Imperial Goldfish at Red Mantis Fall requires you to catch 3 Jungle Catfish, upon doing so gives you a 10minute buff to catch it, regular mooch from Silverfish.

Catching 5 Boxing Pleco with Caddishfly Larva triggers the buff aswell, nothing bite during the duration for me. : /
